PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!! I don't feel safe here and the public safety are rude and really pick and choose what they deal with. This is ridiculous!!! We pay too much money for this bullshit and yall play in our faces!!! ST. Thomas needs to be careful because someone will sue you, the bullying and everything was too much. My friend was not going to classes nor going outside because of women harassing her and verbally assaulting her. I'm telling you men do put their hands on females here and they hush hush it. ST Thomas do better or get SUED!!!! I shouldn't have to pay damn near 30,000 per semester of this school and have to deal with this bullshit. The campus beautifully integrates lush greenery, open water views, and shaded walkways, creating an environment that feels both energizing and peaceful at the same time. What makes the experience especially unique is the architectural diversity. The blend of Art Deco influences, Brutalist structures, and modern design elements creates a refreshing visual rhythm throughout the campus. Each building feels intentionally placed, elegantly portrayed, and connected to its surroundings, allowing nature to become part of the design rather than simply a backdrop. A highlight of the visit is the Lowe Art Museum, which encompasses a thoughtfully curated selection of both modern and historical works. The collection feels balanced and accessible, allowing visitors to move naturally between different artistic periods and styles while maintaining a cohesive narrative. The best way to experience the University of Miami and the Lowe Art Museum is by walking the grounds on a fresh Miami day. The gentle breeze, filtered sunlight through the palms, and harmonious architecture make the visit feel less like a tour and more like a relaxing cultural escape. Ps. Easy access from the Metro Rail UM station... The result is an inspiring setting where academic life and aesthetic beauty coexist effortlessly, encouraging visitors to slow down and truly appreciate the space.

He donated the land and money with the mission of bringing a higher education institution to the growing South Florida community. The college adopted the nickname Hurricanes in memory of the devastating 1926 storm that hit the area just as the university opened. After the land boom bust the college struggled but it experienced significant growth after WWII. Their football program boosted them to national prominence leading to academic expansion. and they celebrated their 100 year anniversary last year. The University of Miami spans 240 acres on the main Coral Gables campus. It has a strong albeit expensive academic program including a medical school. Their colors are orange, green, and white representing Florida's citrus industry. The mascot is Sebastian the Ibis. The campus is park like with large trees, the man made Osceola lake from the 1940's in the center, and 1920's architecture with the oolite limestone Coral Gables is known for. I have visited the Lowe's Art Museum on campus and the Gifford Arboretum in the past and most recently I came for the Beaux arts Festival now in it's 75th year. Now could not be a better time to visit since UM is in the College Football Playoff National Championship against the Indiana Hoosiers. They have won five football championships since 1983 and we are hoping for number six. To make the famous UM hand gesture hold up your hands in front of you palms out and put your thumbs so they are touching and your hands form a U shape. UM fever has spread throughout the entire city of Miami with events happening in conjunction with the big game all weekend long. The highly anticipated game takes place Monday night. Go Canes!

I was advised to take the Wonderlic and HESI tests to apply for the dental hygiene program, then immediately charged $100 once I passed, just for the application. They also insisted I pay $10 to have my transcripts sent through their system. When I mentioned I had most of the required pre-requisite courses because I already have a bachelor's degree, Aileen never told me that credits older than five years wouldn't count. This didn't make sense to me, especially since I hold a college degree. As a result, I would have to pay $80,000 for the entire dental hygiene program--money that I could've saved had I been given the right information upfront. The whole process felt disorganized, and I spent so much time studying for the HESI test unnecessarily. After I realized the program was going to cost so much more than expected, I requested a refund for the $100 application fee. Aileen ignored my calls and emails, but when she wanted my money, she was always quick to respond. I eventually had to track down someone else to get my refund. This school cares more about collecting fees than actually supporting students. I would strongly advise staying away from this place. There are much better, more transparent options out there.
