I went in for a simple eyebrow threading, but Jiya convinced me to do a lamination and then charged me for a full-face threading I never requested. She also performed an off-menu facial, doing deep extractions without my consent, which caused pain, ruptured capillaries, and skin damage. My eyebrow lamination was ruined. When I asked Jiya why facials were not listed on their website, she said they "do not offer it to everyone" -- essentially admitting this service is outside the scope of their licensing with Fraser Health. During the appointment, Jiya spent 20 minutes complaining about her personal breakup, saying her boyfriend ended their two-year relationship because she is Hindu, he is Sikh, and his mother refused the marriage -- completely unprofessional and irrelevant. The next day, I returned to request a refund. Staff acknowledged my damaged skin, took photos, and contacted the owner. I sent the photos, but the owner never called back and is now refusing all communication. My face is still sore from the damage. This business is unsafe, unskilled, and dishonest.

Then the service last Monday August 4th turned into a week long saga of chipping and dissatisfaction of the uneven nail visible underneath. The bottom right photo is today August 11, their attempt to fix- included additional hard gel then color choice of more builder gel to hide the poor nail underneath. I'll be waiting to get back to the US where they care about 360 look of the nail and not just topical aesthetic. Truly shameful and a money grab. Please note that I have been regularly getting my lashes done for the last 4 years. I've recently moved to the Kits area so I was in search for a new technician. I have never had such an uncomfortable experience in all these years. The process was very uncomfortable and painful to the point where I even considered stopping the appointment. My eyelids were taped uncomfortably too high at the corners. The tape was pulling on my eyelids so hard that my eyes were pulled slightly open and the bright light was blinding me. I managed to wiggle my eyes out of the grip that I could keep my eyes 100% closed. My top eyelids felt too exposed and the glue was stinging me. Throughout the appointment, her hand kept resting on my forehead or nose which made it very uncomfortable and unprofessional as well. I was also disappointed with my initial consultation prior to beginning the appointment. I communicated that I wanted full, dramatic long lashes. There was one lash left from my previous set (done by a different technician) and she told me that the lash was too heavy for my natural lashes and that she wanted to preserve my natural ones. Fair enough, however I am fully aware of what I'm signing up for and the risks involved. I wanted something dramatic since I was leaving for a beach vacation the very next day and didn't want to put on any other extra makeup during this time. However, after some more back and forth, she insisted that we go a more natural look so I eventually agreed. Once the appointment was finished and I went home to have a good look, I was very disappointed since it did not have the dramatic look that I was hoping for. For a natural look, the lashes and texturing turned out nice. Unfortunately, it just wasn't what I wanted.
