I hadn't gotten my eyebrows threaded in many many years and this was a place I stopped in on the way to get my shopping done. I was greeted right away and my tech was very friendly and attentive. I will say that I gave a little instruction just to let them know I didn't want a lot off and she did listen to my request. I think she did a pretty good job and I only did some MINOR touching up at home to get them just right but, overall I liked my results. I probably will go to a different one since the staff did seem a little new to this but, I wasn't a horrible experience as I've seen in the previous reviews. read more

Usually I am all gung ho with Brow Art, but this time the yound lady who did me (hehe), was given SPECIFIC instructions. I do not want to look like a drag queen now, Im a man and love looking like a man. Well she (latin girl), did one than the other and I thought it looked good since she held the mirror and I was off to pay for my niece and myself. $10 each plus $4 tip come on. When I got to the car, at better examination, I realized one of the eyebrows looked like Chewbacca and the other one was barely touched. Ummm this is what I get for not insisting on holding the mirror myself. But oh well, so I went back in and went to the first lady (eldest) who I see there all the time, she was from India. She said oh I see what she did or didn't do, she barely did the other one. She sat me down, and redid the eyebrows at no charge again for sure (like I would've paid). She completely did me the way it should of been done, and still Guy Like and not thin. Moral of the story: Not every one who looks like they know what they are doing, knows what they are doing. Let me stick to the script of staying with the person I know will do it right the first time. I'm not sure if Jasmine (the guy) was having a bad day today or what but that should have nothing to do with a customer! When I entered the shop, there were two customers before me. One getting serviced and one waiting. Fine, no problem. I continued my phone conversation waiting for them to finish. As they got up and walked towards the register, I started walking towards the chair. He looked at me and said "You need to get off the phone and sit down". I asked "who are you talking to?" And he said "I'm talking to you. You need to get off the phone. I need both of your hands so get off the phone." I don't recommend anyone to patronize this business. Let alone, trust such a nasty, rude, ass-hole with your eyebrows. This is not the first time that he has disrespected me (The first time, I asked him "Can you please just clean them up? First time I have ever been here only reason why I came here was because I didn't want to drive to my usual reliable spot on Taylor st (threading salon does AMAZING job every time no mater who you go with). This was my first mistake. LARISSA kindly jumped up to help me as soon as I walked in. No wait was great. She did my eyebrows and upper lip fast. When she finished she didn't bother dusting my face of all the hairs. (Which got in my eye). She handed me the mirror and one eye brow was completely botched!!! I told her and she started getting nervous and said it's cause the other one is so large that it just looks like that. Hahaha noooooo I said you messed up. She never owned up to it!!! Oh man. I had to cool down for a couple of hours before I sat to write this review. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded since I began the whole post-pubescent hair removal ritual. And never, ever, EVER, have I experienced or seen such a horrible threading experience. I usually drive up to rogers park, and get my eyebrows done at Aronson's or Natasha's. I'm usually really happy with whoever does them, but the drive is a killer, so I decided to try a place closer to home. I like my eyebrows natural. So when i sat down, I told miss india picasso, "Please, I'd like to keep them natural, not thin at all." She spoke English, nodded, smiled, later spoke to me and told me that she understood exactly what I said, so what happened later only leaves me to believe that she either has a sick sense of humor or went brain dead for a period of 7minutes. When she was done, one eyebrow was down to a mere trail of hairs connecting to make a barely visible crest above my right eye. The other looked like a thick crooked mess. She seemed pleased. I was not. I couldn't even feign calm. I look like a hooker with facial paralysis. My sisters said half my face looks like the wicked witch from Disney movies. The manager looked at my eyebrows and give me a long...ooOOOOoo... and told me that I wouldn't have to pay. But this does me no good in the meantime. And homegurl wouldn't give me her name when I promised to tell everyone I knew not to go here. The manager similarly refused. She said I'd just have to wait for the eyebrow to grow back. And the kicker. I didn't even get an apology. She just stood there with her arms crossed. Please, PLEASE, don't go here, if you value you eyebrows in the least! This is the absolute worst eyebrow threading I've ever had. A week before Christmas, I decided to get my eyebrows done. I told the lady please do not pull any new hair off; JUST CLEAN UP MY BROW USING THE SHAPE AS A GUIDELINE. The women in there are young and obviously do not have a ton of experience. While doing my second brow, I felt a hair pulled from the middle of my eyebrow. I sat up because I knew this lady knew she messed up. I look in the mirror and i was missing an entire patch from the middle of my left brow. I let my eyebrows completely grow out until yesterday and stupid me decided to give them another chance. MY FAULT. My eyebrows look atrocious. Like a bush. When she gave me the mirror I thought it was a joke. I go here all of the time, and I'm usually always happy with my eyebrows. However, the past few times I've gone I have had issues with Jasmine/James. His attitude is TERRIBLE and he should not work in customer service if he is going to allow his nasty attitude to overshadow his talent. I have been going to Brow Art 23 to get my eyebrows threaded for a few years now. Lately, there has been an extremely rude and unprofessional worker named Jasmine/James. I've had numerous encounters with him that have not gone well. The first time he was eating McDonald's and seemed annoyed that I walked in and then went to thread my eyebrows without washing his hands. Another time, I walked in and he was straightening his hair and slammed the straightener down when I walked in. He told me to sit in the chair and put my chin up. I put my chin up and he kept telling me I didn't know how to put my chin up. He was so rude that I told him I no longer wanted my eyebrows done and I left. He is SO rude that I no longer go to Brow Art 23 anymore. I'm not sure why he still works there. He makes the experience miserable and clearly he doesn't want to be there either. read more

Walking in just before closing, I was happy the worker agreed to take me (although she didn't seem thrilled). Any who, I waited just a few minutes as she finished the girl she was working on. I am not happy with my first time going to this place, and DEFINITELY will NOT go there again. The lady who threaded my eyebrows was so quick amd rushed she took off my entire inner eyebrow! I wear contact lenses so when I close my eyes for a long period of time, my vision is blurred for a few minutes so until I could get it in focus I couldn't see how bad it was. I liked this place. I knew I needed to get my eyebrows done, as I had just moved back to Chicago and I had left behind my beloved expert waxer who helped me grow my eyebrows back (they're STILL growing out though). I wanted to find someone on referral only, but after shopping at the mall and passing by, I decided to take a risk and simply be very specific. It's easy - you walk in, sign in at the register, and wait your turn. I only had 1 girl ahead of me. Rocio did my eyebrows, and I told her just to clean up the strays and some on my forehead as I was growing out my eyebrows. I always fill in my eyebrows with some shadow, and she didn't remove the makeup, which I think helped not to over-thread. She was quick, it was painless, and I loved how clean my brows looked. Rocio made sure she didn't take too much hair. I would definitely return. read more

I am so just writing this as a warning. I had my eyebrows done and my eyelids are all cut up. She did not clean up all of my eyebrows that needed to be removed probably because she was cutting into my skin. I guess I should be grateful that she stopped when she did. This is not the first time I have had my eyebrows threaded which means that I can have them done with my skin still in place. Just don't bother. I took my daughter there when they first opened a few years back and they really did a terrible job on her and I thought since they are still there maybe they have their act together. I love this place!!! I have gone for a few years. Waxing gives me breakouts so this is a great alternative. Just one suggestion though. Make sure you tell them exactly what you want. Sometimes the newer girls will make your eyebrows too thin. Everyone has always been very nice and they are always busy. read more

Really bad service. I have a very high pain tolerance but the woman was threading so very slowly it was awful and very painful. I have been threaded before where I barely flinch, but the last 2 times at this location have been extremely, extremely painful. I won't be going back. read more
