I recently went to Brow Art 23 in Fox Valley Mall and had my eyebrows threaded as I normally do. At check-out the sales rep did a hard sell for me to buy a $25 gift card for eyebrows threading; I thought why not I've been coming here for years. Fooled me.....5 weeks later I'm back again to have my eyebrows threaded and to use my gift card. At the time of checkout I was advised that there are new owners and that the gift card is not being honored. Really!?!? Very very disappointing!!!! Am I now out the $25 amount spent on the gift card that I purchased in good faith? I'm just actually still trying to figure that out. I've called corporate twice, still no response. I've sent correspondence via a email request on their website - no response and I'm still here sitting and wondering have I been screwed over on this $25 gift card purchase. Jagrutiben Patel is the tech that sold me the gift card; very disappointed in her. Lost all trust. Did you know of the sale- not sure. Still lost all trust in her and the BROW Art 23 enterprise. If I could give a negative 5 rating I certainly would. The only reason I selected one star is because otherwise I could not post my review. Looks like BROW Art 23 just lost a customer they had for many many years. I have been getting my eyebrows done for a year now and I've had good experiences as well as bad. This was the best hands down. I was in a desperate need of an eyebrow fixing. Rivaz wasn't open and other salons weren't open period. I finally gave up and meandered to this little spot before heading to work at Macy's. Can I just say best service ever?? The lady who did my eyebrows took her time and explained to me that threading should not be done fast because that's when the most mistakes occur. Instead, threading should be done slowly to ensure that the brow is done well. If I could show you my before and after of my brows, I think that'll convince you on how well she took care of me. This place does charge $3 more than Rivaz ($8), but I finally got what I wanted and have always asked for! I was unable to catch her name, but come in Monday - Wednesday (that's when she works) and she will leave you looking 10x better! Bonus: she told me that she had her own salon in Cali and came to Illinois because of her husband's profession. Ding, ding, ding, JACKPOT. We have a winner here! read more

I went to this place a few times before and never had a problem. Tonight I had a different lady. I always go to get my lips threaded and they talk me into my eyebrows too. Not much hair grows around my eyebrows so they're very thin already. So I ALWAYS tell them, "JUST clean up the strays" and she even responded "yes very thin already" So I said again "yes I know. So just clean up around the edges" So she proceeded to completely reshape my eyebrows (very painfully I might add) and leave me with pencil thin eyebrows. I told here that is not what I asked for and they were too thin and rounded. And she told me that is the shape of my eyebrows. Well, NO. No one has ever done that before and that is not the shape I came in with. So then I went to my car and bawled my eyes out. Officially NEVER getting my eyebrows done again. And most certainly not returning to this place. And she was very aggressive just like the other posters have said. More painful than usual. read more

The lady tried to convince me to come back tomorrow saying it wouldn't last over the weekend, that should've been my clue to run. Obviously this service totally depends on the eyebrow technician so don't know about other days but definitely don't go on a Thursday! I have a review about both the full shop and the kiosk since there's two eyebrow places in the mall. Went to the shop (near Sears) around 1:45 and there was a sign saying "be back in 20 minutes. sorry for the inconvenience". I did a little shopping and came back and waited until about 2:30 and still no one came back. The other lady waiting had a good idea to go to the kiosk located near Macy's. I let her go first and I waited about 5 mins longer. Finally since no one came, I decided to try the kiosk and luckily there was a person there. Stood around waiting and along comes another lady and the eyebrow technician acknowledged her and asked her to sit down and wait while she finishes up with the current client. Finally I forced the tech to acknowledge me so she finally asked me to sit down to wait as well. When she was done with the current client she called over the other lady (who came after me) to tell her she was next...I spoke up and said I was waiting over 45 mins at the other shop AND also got here before that other lady. The current client who originally was waiting with me at the other shop had vouched for how long I was waiting. I think just because I was a guy she probably thought I was just looking. Anyways back to why I'm giving a 1 star and I should've gotten her name but I was so disgruntled I just wanted to leave. The eyebrow technician literally spent 4 mins on my eyebrows and at first I thought it was ok but when I saw it in the light later, it was totally uneven and some parts were thicker than the other parts. Will try this place again in due time but definitely will not go on a Thursday and I definitely won't go if that same tech is there. read more

Started going to this company a couple of months ago and so far so good. I go to a women named Nena who is very welcoming and sweet. We don't talk much but thats not a huge thing for me anyways. I'd prefer fast, efficient service which is always the case here. I did go to a different lady and wasn't as happy with the services, my eyebrows were uneven and thin. So now I just stick to the same women whose great every time. I also don't like how public it is since its a kiosk that I get them done at. They do have a shop across the other side of the mall however my lady is never in there. Needless to say, I'll be back every two weeks! read more

The worst experience threading of my life! I wish I had gotten the technicians name. I'm going back to get it along with my $10... The tech was very aggressive with her threading; to the point of being very painful and bleeding. .. Then without asking she applied some "aloe" cream on my my eyelids. They felt like someone had taken a blow torch to them They were red, and burning for the rest of that day and night. The next morning there were visible blisters, either from the treading or the lotion on my eyelids. 3 days later there are now scabs on my eyelids. read more

Jay at Brow Art (near Sears) has done a fantastic job on my eyebrows every time. I have seen her several times and she always takes her time and her technique is the most delicate of anyone who has ever done my eyebrows. She is extremely gentle and takes her time even if customers are waiting. Bonus - last time she gave me a gentle temple massage that was so wonderful I almost feel asleep. Gave 4 stars because it does cost a bit more ($11) then what I used to pay ($8) - probably because of location in the mall. I will continue to have Jay do my brows! read more

Do not EVER go here. The woman made one eyebrow very thick and the other thin. After pointing it out she then took a bunch of hair off from the thick one directly above the corner of my eye instead of thinning it. So I'm left with a HUGE bald spot of no hair on onside and they are still uneven! She then asked if she could just color it in!!!! I asked to speak with a manager and she gave me a phone number, I found out the number is just another employee! Absolutely awful this woman has no idea what she is doing!
