I had been using Brothers for 30 years. John is gone now and Jim has taken over and ruined the family name. I'll be filing against Jim's License, and the felony he committed. These are my properties - Jim - what you did is disgraceful. How dare you use G-D's name in vain and torment the elderly! You could have billed me - you know what you did. You are a disgraceful. Your own brother won't defend you. I offered you months to come clean - and now - I'll be filing against you. It's a felony to manipulate the elderly. I am your customer - I hired you - you went behind my back and ripped off my mother without so much as speaking with me. I confronted you and you raised your voice and your hands at me. It wasn't until I called police and threatened a restraining order you disappeared with the money. History: I hired Jim having worked with his brother John for over 30 years. Jim was not only rude and unprofessional, when I sat down with him to ask him why he continued to defy my direct orders. I asked for an invoice. Nothing. He found my elderly mother and demanded her credit card number and insisted I approved - this was a lie - he charged her 6000 dollars. I confronted him calmly, face to face. Jim insisted he developed a special relationship with her and that she was much easier to deal with than me, who hired him. Jim quoted the bible screamed and yelled and then I was forced to threaten a restraining order. All this after he had already secured over 6000 and left me with no results and a few thousand dollars worth of repairs to make. The issue I finally discovered was exactly where I asked Jim to start looking, under the sink. Jim is a bad person. Jim used his brother John's good will and good name to take advantage of not only my kindness, but manipulated my elderly mother. Be warned. This is a long over due review. We have been using Brothers plumbing and heat/AC for years. Jim has showed up in a pinch when we needed him. Jim and James came over to replace two faucets after the handles wore out from a remodel a few years ago. One sink was clogged and ours ended up being clogged too. Showed me a picture. Jim advised that we needed to flush our water heater, water color is tinged. Also to use one finger to open and close our new faucets, which was useful information. John and Jim of Brothers Plumbing... need an attitude check. Some of the rudest guys I've ever had to encounter. They show up 2 hours away from your apt not to mention forced us to be available so they can get the "emergency" weekend fee. Customer service is clearly not their realm here. Maybe if they did decent work they wouldn't have to be back for a second time with the same problem a year apart from each other. I hired Brothers Plumbing (Jim) on September 20, 2022. I bought a Navien water heater, based on Jim's recommendation, over Noritz, Rheem, or others. I paid Brothers $3,950.00 for the water heater and installation. Navien has a 5 year parts and 1 year labor warranty. In May, 5/09/2023 the display unit went bad,so Jim did come out and replaced it, with my help, he not really sure on how to do it. Then on October 3rd, 2023, the same display unit went bad again, so I contacted Jim, he told me to contact the manufacturer, Navien , that Navien hadn't paid him for the labor the last time, he said, "I don't work for free", they only pay me $50.00 for my labor. I spoke to Navien and asked why the replacement part would go bad so quickly, the representative said that it might be because of the pandemic, short handed. So Navien said they would ship me out a new part, free of charge, but that Brother's Plumbing would have to order it, which I told Jim, he said , give me the part number ( I had to find it, not him). That was on 10/03/2023. They shipped the part to Brother's Plumbing, I never heard from Jim of Brothers Plumbing, until I got a hold of Navien's field rep, he said the part was delivered to Brother's back in mid October 2023, but I received no call or text from them. I had to get a hold of Navien's field representative myself. So Jim then said I had a polarity problem with ground or voltage. I checked it out and also had a licensed electrician check it out, no problems. So Jim finally said, it's not his problem. Why would anyone hire them. By the way all this was still under warranty. read more

He looks around but says he will need to have the installer come to look at the job. The "installer" comes, and says he does jobs for Brothers. Due to the fumigation of our building, the gas had to be turned off. When the gas company came to turn the gas back on, we discovered a problem with the pilot light on our hot water heater. The pilot light was making little explosions when you turned it on and the gas company red tagged us. I needed service. I called a couple of companies and either had a no answer or no availability until I reached Jim and Brothers Plumbing. He scheduled me for the next morning and arrived early along with his son James. He explained the situation and the need for a new water heater because the existing one was over 10 years old. Long story short, within 3 hours a new water heater was up and running. This father and son team set the standard for great customer service - fast, conscientious and extremely capable. Everyone I spoke to at Brothers was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially John, who went above and beyond to help me. I spoke with him on the phone first and he immediately understood what was wrong from the limited information I was able to explain about my problem. He spent time talking with me about it and never made me feel rushed or like any question was too dumb. He even was able to stop by that same day while he was out running other errands, to confirm the situation. It turns out that the repair I needed was quite expensive, but not urgent. It would mean not having heat, but in SoCal, that's not a big deal for me. John didn't try to sell me on anything and from the very beginning and multiple times throughout, reminded me that I didn't HAVE to do this repair, and that the AC and other parts of the unit would still work perfectly fine without the need for the heating repair. I really appreciate his availability to answer my multiple phone calls and questions, his friendliness, and most importantly, his honesty. When I do decide to make the repair, I will definitely be calling John. read more

They are very nice and do make sure to come out fast however, they are very expensive. I needed a new pump for my toilet (the whole kit is $19.99) and I was charged $186.50. They do not quote you on the phone and I was blown away at the cost when he got here. They said it is $90 for the call, $60 for the hour of work (which was completed in ten minutes) and then $26.50 for the parts. I needed to get this fixed and just moved to the area, so I had no choice but to pay, plus, it would have been $150 for him to just leave. Not happy about the cost. Again, they are nice and fast, but costly. read more

Incredibly unprofessional!! on 6/6/2016 i contacted them to complete a backflow water test for a rental property that i own. i emailed them the paperwork that needed to be filled out. Since they had done the exact same test 2 years prior, i though it would be easy. It should have been no problem right? NO way! I got a call back the next day assuring me that the test would be completed and the paperwork would be done and sent it to the water district. i was also informed that the price would to $75 ($10 higher than the previous year) - no problem, i agreed to it. Fast forward 8 days, my renter calls me to say the water district is about to cut off their water service because the test was not completed. I call up Brothers/email them, no response. I had to call the Water district to buy some more time, which i was able to get another 2 days. 2 days later Brothers calls me back saying they had not received the paperwork and hence they were delayed (mind you they didn't even call me to ask for it for a week). This was the first flag, i had indeed sent them the paperwork in my original email. On top of that, the person told me it was going to cost $90 because "you are an hour away from us". I told the person that i was originally quoted $75 within the promised time-frame, which had now passed... he said im sorry, can t help you. Knowing i was pressed against time, they were able to extort a really high charge for this service. On top of that i didn't even get a copy of the paperwork until i requested it. I must say, these guys were good once upon a time, now they are just unprofessional, liars who make false promises. Very disappointing read more

I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Brothers. I had an old, leaking tub and shower faucet I originally wanted repaired to avoid the cost and mess of a replacement. Jim went above and beyond to find the discontinued parts but before they could ship, the faucet started to run continuously - there was no way I could wait. Thankfully, he was able to come out the next day to do a replacement. From beginning to end, I was impressed by the care and concern Jim took in keeping everything clean, from transporting his tools and equipment to clean-up. This is a somewhat unusual review. I called them for a severe sprinkler leak in our yard. They came out promptly to help. They said it was most likely a irrigation pipe leak but that they do not do such service (they didn't charge us to come out). I think they probably knew that before they came out but were still nice enough to come to help diagnose the issue. How rare to see such selfless service! Since my first introduction to these nice gents, they were helpful explaining the issues, speedy, professional and definitely reasonable in price. The reason for my review of late, is that I purchased an older home, and the home needed a water heater, air conditioning repair work and various plumbing- Brothers (both Jim and John helped us) always returned the call promptly, set the expectation on when they can come do the work, talked about pricing before coming out and were friendly and professional.
