Laughing Sun renovates and restores by amplifying the original charm of the house which is what I love about them! All of this with a well-communicated and collaborative vision in the planning process! Laughing Sun also completed a bathroom installation for me in another house. The space planning ideas they had were brilliant and the project was under budget and on time. Very happy former customer! Katherine Strong 404-536-4099

Kara was one of the worst people I've ever done business with, she was rude, spiteful and…read moreaggressive on several occasions; and often made up false reasons why I behaved a certain way which I had to spend a good deal of time correcting. For example, when I did not return a text message within a couple of hours, she would say that I was avoiding her or trying to put her off in some way, even though I had previously explained that I didn't have my personal cell phone in meetings and would not be able to respond to her quickly during business hours. As time lapsed, she got more and more unreasonable. On at least two occasions, she threatened to put a lien on my house and take me to court. The first time was because I did not want to pay the entire third installment, only a portion of it, since her crew did not finish the work on the deadline provided. This seemed reasonable to me, but she threw a major fit on the phone, called me a number of highly unprofessional terms and then threatened me with a law suit. So, I backed down, in tears, to avoid a silly suit and hopefully finish the last items so I could put my house up on the market sooner rather than later. Then, a few days later she lost it over some missing paint, which I later found inside the house, but she accused me of stealing. The final straw was with the last payment, which I sent via postal mail from Maryland, where I live. She knew I was sending the payment, but when the check didn't come as quickly as she thought it should, she started her bullying tactics of leaving me nasty threats on my voicemail and via text. I was on a flight to California to go wine tasting with some college girlfriends, and the last thing I wanted to deal with was Kara and her craziness, but I had to nonetheless. She had me so stressed out during the flight, that I was thinking about paying her twice for the job in an attempt to end the bullying and the stress it was causing me. Luckily for me, the check finally arrived before my second flight landed-- she left me a message stating that she got the check and that she was paid in full, but she he never apologized ever for her behavior--which I find incredible given her unprofessionalism and aggression. I will say that for the most part, the work was done in a quality manner, with three exceptions: 1. I had some plumbing work done and it was supposed to be under warranty. So, when it the same plumbing issue resurfaced a couple of months later, I emailed to see if they would honor the warranty. Kara declined, stating that the company she owned went out of business (Laughing Sun Renovations). It's only now, that I paid another plumber $800 to come out and fix something her team was supposed to have fixed the first time that I find out she's opened another renovations company (that seems to do the same thing I was paying her old company to do). It's very disappointing to have had to fix this issue twice, as each time I had to pay the fee, but I also had to deal with getting the plumber to the property and cleaning up the drywall and getting the ceiling painting that needed to be done both times. It was both a waste of time and money. 2. I also had a lot of interior painting done, and while the paint job was done well, there were many drippings that were never cleaned up by her or her staff. I found a number in the bathtubs, on sinks, on drapes, etc. 3. She did some tile work in one of my bathrooms and some of it was not finished correctly. I had to pay someone else to come and fix it, so that there would not be any leaking from the improper install.

We recently purchased a home that was in serious need of updating. Our biggest challenge was…read moreremoving stipple from all of the ceilings in the house. We spoke with several contractors about the job. One tried to talk us out of even attempting to remove the stipple and another wasn't even interested in quoting a price due to the nature of the project. When we contacted Armando, it was a different story. He thoroughly explained the process, quoted a very reasonable price and put us at ease when we decided to move forward with his company. From start to finish, the project went off without a hitch. I can't say enough about the professionalism and dedication that his team displayed throughout their time working on our house. Simply put, Armando and his crew are magicians. They transformed the dated look of our ceilings and painted the interior. The finished product is absolutely flawless. I was dreading the renovation during the fact-finding phase of our project, but couldn't be more pleased with the result. If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable and affordable company to assist with your home improvement needs, you can't go wrong with Woodley Painting.

That was in Q1 2023. 6 months after the remodel, the flooring throughout my home needed be entirely replaced - despite my insistence that the LVP flooring would need some type of underlayment due to the uneven surfaces and transitions from concrete to wood, he insisted it was a waste of money and unnecessary (keep in mind that I paid for ALL materials, sometimes including the crew's lunch and home depot snacks apparently). In the end, I won the wrong battle that I at least wanted a moisture barrier. Now, all of the LVP throughout the entire home is cracking and separating. Worst $20K I've ever spent despite how much i loved the floor before it was installed. This issue started while they were still working on the house and he convinced me that I should compromise bc he couldn't afford to incur the cost of having to replace it. I tried for several months after completion of the project to get in touch with him and his crew foreman to no avail. They wouldn't even take my calls. Overall, I spent more than $150K on a total renovation and im being told it will take upwards of $75K to correct what they did. Im not one to ever leave a review, positive or negative, but in this case, I feel like I should warn folks. They are an extremely friendly group of folks and easily likable, but I trusted them to take care of my home and I feel like he/they took advantage of the fact that I'm a single female that didn't know all the answers. The flooring was just the tip of the iceberg, although the single most expensive mistake I made in trusting this team of people.. I think it hurt my heart more so than my pocket book to be taken advantage of to this extreme. Hard lesson learned, but i promise you I learned it well.... and will continue to pay for my bad judgment for years to come apparently. I will admit however, there were a few unforseens along the way that the team was more than willing to take care of....at a cost of course.

They gave us a 4 hour window of arrival for the initial inspection which was a bit inconvenient as they could not give a better estimated arrival time. The day of the installation, they gave a two hour time window of arrival and were on-site for three hours to replace two garage doors and two garage door openers. Scott and his team were pretty quick and did a decent job. My largest complaint would be the company's attention to detail. After completing the job, they left a large amount of debris and trash including nails, screws, and staples which could have been cleaned from a quick and easy sweep. I had swept the entire garage out the day before so it was quite obvious that it was left from their time on site. In addition, they forgot to attach a hinge pin which resulted in the arm quickly being detached from the track after they left. A simple fix, but these oversights can be easily be avoided with better attention to detail. Overall, decent work by this company and I would recommend them. I would, however suggest that you do a once over of their work afterwards from my experience with them.
