Abner "knocked it out of the park" with our front window enclosure project on our 30 ft weekender! He surpassed our expectations on the look, quality and professional installation. Project was priced right and timely installed. If you are in or near the O.C. please don't bother looking anywhere else. Contact Abner at Bros. Marine Canvas! You will NOT regret your decision. Thanks Abner and team--we look forward to our next project. A+++++

Brothers Marine Canvas came to the rescue when another shop had the boat for SIX WEEKS claiming they could complete the job only to find out that nothing had been done when it was already into the beginning of summer. After calling 15 places that were fully booked for the rest of summer, I connected with Abner who was able to take a look at all the photos and give me a quote almost immediately. They were able to accelerate the process a bit for a rush fee so I could actually use my boat for more of summer. The prior shop removed all the old vinyl so they had the hard task of recreating all the upholstery from photos. The cover fits perfectly and the boat looks amazing. Abner was easy to communicate with, quick to respond, and even sent pictures when the work was completed. This really put me at ease after my prior experience with the other shop and we are excited to enjoy all the work while we are lounging on the boat this summer. Thanks Brothers Marine for salvaging the rest of summer vacay on our boat!

These guys are great. My project - full canvas and isinglass with lined covers was done on time and on budget. It looks awesome, so good in fact, my neighbors were caught on my dock checking out the fantastic workmanship. And yes, now Rick and Mina are having Brother's do their boat too - full canvas and glass. I'm looking forward to having them remake my helm seats. If you need canvas and glass - you need Brothers Canvas!!! Jeff D

Material is not pulled tight and Peter failed to make sure the correct upholstery pattern we selected was installed! Poor Project Mgt.

Caution: DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!! Please Read Entire Post. FACTS: Sept. 19, 2018 I Met with Peter Viveros on my 340 Sea Ray Sundancer for a quote. Peter gave me a quote for Marine Reupholster $4900.00 plus tax. Peter required 50% Deposit to start work and stated the project would take 3 weeks to complete. Sept. 21, 2018 Received Invoice via e-mail from Peter for boat upholstery work. Invoice dated 09/19/2018 and the Due Date for Completion was 10/29/2018. Total Bill: $5,292.00 (Tax Included). Sept. 23,2018 CitiVisa charged $2649.00 (50% of Project). Wife and I met with Peter on boat and received Vinyl Sample Booklets. Peter stated he would order material once selected and start removing upholstery on Oct. 2, 2018. Oct. 2, 2018 Peter was a No Show to remove upholstery. I discovered this Oct 10th while checking on boat. Oct. 10. 2018 Sent Peter a text inquiring why he didn't pickup upholstery. Peter explained that was the plan, but his wife had a baby. Peter said all materials arrived and he sees no foreseen delays to have the work completed. Oct. 12, 2018 We went on Vacation Oct. 12 - 28, 2018. Oct. 15, 2018 I received a text message from a marina neighbor that Peter was taking out boat upholstery. October 28, 2018 Return from vacation. Peter literally had the entire month of October to complete boat upholstery work as agreed. Oct. 29, 2018 Sent Peter a text message inquiring the status of the upholstery work on our boat. Peter responded the goal was to install this weekend (Nov 3-4, 2018) and he would text me the time. I texted Peter asking him to send me pictures of the upholstery as we were curious as to how it turned out. Peter stated he would. Oct. 30, 2018 No pictures from Peter of boat upholstery work. I drove to Brothers Marine Canvas located at 2428 Newport Blvd. Suite 5 in Costa Mesa. Spoke with Peter's brother (Mom and Dad Present) asking them to show me the upholstery work. The work was not completed! The small Lounge Backrest had the wrong material. It was not the material we selected with Peter. The workmanship appeared like it was rushed to be completed. The accent vinyl in the backrest was loose. (wrinkles) not tight. One of the Captain's chairs was disassembled foam exposed, the 2nd Captain chair was in it's original condition. No work done to it. The 4 cushion pads for the lounge were complete. I did not see the large Lounge Backrest and the 3rd Captain Seat. Oct. 30, 2018 Called Peter...No Answer. Texted Peter and stated Not Happy Work Wasn't Completed! Subsequently drove to marina slip to check on my boat and I see Peter just taking the large Lounge Backrest from my boat and the 3rd Captain Seat was sitting in a cart in front of my boat. Invoice Due Date was Oct. 29, 2018 to be completed. Peter stated it would take 3 weeks to complete the project. Peter didn't start project until Oct. 15, 2018 and he waited till Oct. 30th to come back to my boat to remove the rest of the upholstery. Brothers Marine Canvas failed to complete the job. Peter failed to properly oversee the project to make sure the selected material was used. Peter insisted he was right, and he was completing the job on time, and I owed him an apology for saying he didn't complete it on time because I had agreed he had until the weekend (Nov. 3rd & Nov. 4th, 2018) to complete the install. Amazing, Peter is just taking out the remainder of the upholstery from my boat on Oct. 30, 2018 and he had since Oct 1st to start the project. Very Dissatisfied Customer! Peter is not a man of his word, he has poor work ethic and can't be trusted. Peter is not willing to accept responsibility that he didn't complete the job as agreed upon. The facts remain: I told Peter we were on vacation Starting Oct 12, 2018 and returning Oct. 28, 2018. I told Peter he could start Oct. 1, 2018. Peter said it would only take 3 weeks to complete and he would have the project done by Oct. 29, 2018 as indicated on my Invoice. Peter never informed me the project wouldn't be completed on time, or that he needed more time to complete the job. Nov 1, 2018 I personally removed the 3rd Capt. Seat and the large Lounge Backrest. It took me a total of 20 minutes. I researched how to remove clips from the Port and Starboard panels secured to the Arch. Peter did not remove these Pads as he stated on Oct. 30, 2018 he was looking for a Special Tool since 8:30 AM to remove the upholstery panels. On Nov. 1, 2018, I purchased the upholstery tool kit from Harbor Freight for $15.99. I find it difficult to believe that Peter, being in the upholstery business, didn't have a tool to remove panel clips. It took me approx. 10 mins to remove both panels on the Arch. Nov. 3rd Brothers Marine Canvas Served with a Demand Letter for Reimbursement of the 50% Deposit $2,649.00 or I would take them to Small Claims Court. This is the first step to Resolution of a very Poor Business Transaction.

Over the last few years, I had been looking to get a cover made for my 17' RIB. Beginning of January I spent about a week calling and leaving messages for various businesses in the area that do marine canvas. Of the five that I tried giving my business to, not a single one answered a call or responded to voicemails(still almost a month later haven't heard back from any of them). Started calling around to some others and decided to give Brothers Marine Canvas a call. Peter answered the phone right away, I explained what I was looking for, and sent him a photo of the boat. Minutes later, he sent me an estimate for what I wanted and I let him know I was waiting to hear back from a few others before I made a decision. It was evident that the customer service at Brothers Marine Canvas was on point. Fast forward about two weeks on Jan 19th, I texted Peter and let him know I wanted to move forward with the cover. He emailed me the official invoice and it had a completion date of about a month out(I was prepared for a 2-3 month wait). Jan 23rd, I met Peter, his father, and his brother down at my boat and they made the template for the cover(the 23rd was the earliest I could make it down there. They tried coming sooner). Jan 29th, Peter texts me saying the cover is complete and wanted to meet me down the following morning to put on. Jan 30th, the boat is covered with the new beautiful, perfect fitting cover. Could not be happier with how this turned out and how easy it was to work with Peter. I will continue to use and refer Brothers Marine Canvas for all my canvas needs! T

For once we hired a perfect contractor!!! I can't say enough good things about this family owned business. They worked hard on our new (to us) 42' sailboat during challenging times (Covid shut down). They turned around our project in record time while never sacrificing quality or service. They replaced our fully enclosed dodger system, and various other canvas pieces topside, as well as made new exterior window shade coverings and all hatch covers. They also replaced all exterior cushions. Additionally, they did a complete overhaul on our interior upholstery throughout the entire boat. All the work was completed within the 5-6 week timeframe they quoted and at a very fair price. We weren't the easiest people to work with either. We changed our mind on the interior upholstery color after they had already ordered our original selection - and they were super cool about it. We made other changes throughout the project too and they were always very accommodating. They worked hard to get us the exact Textilene material we wanted (for our hatch covers and window shades) despite their suppliers being closed due to the pandemic. They had to make countless trips to our boat in Alamitos Bay from their shop in Costa Mesa just to bring us something we needed (like a fabric swatch/sample or brochure). They were always easy to reach or promptly responded to messages and always showed up wearing masks and mindful of social distancing guidelines. They made valuable suggestions throughout the project and offered honest feedback regarding our choices. We still have one more part of the project (main sail cover) to finish, and then the job will be complete. They've been an absolute pleasure to work with and I feel confident about recommending their services; you won't be disappointed in their work. Bottom line: these guys wanted the job and went to great lengths to make sure we were remained happy throughout the project. I will edit this post at a later date once we see how their work holds up over time and use, but I have no doubt we will remain happy with the end result. Thank you Abner and Peter... you were a pleasure to do business with! Stay well.

We are so happy with the dodger that this family-owner business created for our sailboat. From Abner to Peter and all the talented members of the family we are grateful for the quality service and personalized attention to detail. We highly recommend them for your next marine project!

Excellent Service! They helped us save a ton of money on our awnings on our house. They awnings turned out GREAT! I'm so impressed! I'm giving their names to boat owner friends and other canvas needs friends might have.

Worked with Peter on a new canvas and glass for my 23' cuddy. Peter and brothers marine canvas are easy to work with. Always showed up on time and delivered when they said. We did the canvas in 3 steps to ensure everything fit and it fit perfect. The upgraded eisen glass (sp?) is like looking through the windshield in you car. Rear cover keeps everything clean and very dry. Was super easy just told Peter what I wanted and let him take it from there. Also the price was very reasonable.

As my wife works in the industry at a business with a similar name, we reached out to see if they could figure out what was causing our issue. Derek was very helpful and courteous as well as thorough with the inspection process. After a couple of days he figured out that water flow was being restricted at the transom due to a clogged inlet that was described simply as "mush". We obtained a new transom and had it installed. Derek called us up and said there was no more steam, the temp was back to normal and the motor was running fine. After picking up the boat, we took it to Elsinore for a test run with no issues. What a relief. For the scope of work performed, the cost was reasonable. That being said, everyone knows what BOAT means! Lol. A big thank you to Derek and the entire staff at Advanced Marine Service! Now we are bound for the river!

He cant be trusted to service a Duffy. Don't trust him with your precious yacht or sport fisher. On November 25th I called up them and said I needed a propeller shaft repacking and bottom paint done. He said "Bring the boat over for us to inspect, it might not need to be hauled out of the water" I bring it over and they inspect and say "Yep, it needs to be hauled out" (just like I told Eric on the phone) they then have an employee who hardly speaks English comes out and turn a wrench for 10 seconds to tighten up the shaft journal. The "service fee" for this work was $130! In addition to the $1,450 for the bottom paint and propeller shaft repacking. Eric said "Yea, anytime we have to drop everything to help a boat it's $130." Even though Eric was the one who told me to come over and I told them the problem over the phone and that it needed to be hauled out. Eric said he would email me service dates for haul out and service. He never did. After a third followup on December 3rd Eric finally replied that I should drop off the boat on December 5th, I confirm and deliver the boat to them at 8am on December 5th. On December 10th I ask for an update and remind him I need the boat back by Friday Dec 13th. On December 10th He replied "The boat is scheduled to be done by Friday the 13th, I'll keep you posted" (see images for screenshot of his email) On Thursday (December 12th) I check in and says NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE because they were "busy". This catches Eric in a lie from his email two days earlier because he never could have delivered a painted boat that wasn't hauled out of the water to dry a few days before. After 7 full days of them having my boat I was done with their stupidity. It just sat tied up bouncing against other boats for a week while Eric told me the boat was getting serviced. After 8 days of nothing being done I wasn't interested in giving them any more money so I picked up my boat on December 13th. No apology for their 8 days of incompetence and dishonesty was given. No attempt to make things right was offered. If they can't be trusted to service a Duffy and be upfront, I wouldn't trust them with a major project.
