Lobster buns , avoid , old and fishy smell at cad 36 plus tax expect better so never again

We were 2 Couples who visited this restaurant back in August while on a cycling holiday of the island. It was recommended by "locals" and none of us were disappointed. Clearly fish is a focus and lobster a must (if you can). They will bring lobster in all manner of variations, but 1 of us tried it whole with a tool box of equipment to get the thing opened up. What a spectacle and apparently very tasty. It's more of a pub grub style...but very friendly...and that's comparing them to the rest of the islanders (who are super friendly)...these folks were really nice. Charles was a gentleman...friendly, fun and a quick wit to match. Great tips on places to see on the island. Will go again. read more

What an awesome experience! Seafood chowder is simply amazing! We had the salmon which my girlfriend really enjoyed and I had the ribs. Very juicy and tasty. We were lucky enough to have the best server that a restaurant could have! Julia was experienced, on top for everything and extremely knowledgeable. You are the BEST! read more

I had a late supper tonight at Brothers 2. I was seated on the dining room side. I ordered the B2 Kick A** Ribs with mashed potatoes and no veggies. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. I found the lemon-mango marinade a bit too lemony, though, and it took away from the ribs and the BBQ sauce. Maryse was my server. She was friendly and efficient. read more

Food was served Hot! Just the way I like it. Service was good, staff seemed to be seasoned in their position but they seemed to be understaffed as the wait was long and tables were left dirty for longer than normal periods of time. I asked for the chicken stir fry and got a tasty stir fry but what looked like 6 chicken nuggets sitting on top of my dish. read more

We had dinner at Brothers 2 since it was located very close to our motel in Summerside. There were several other dining choices in the area including an abundance of Chinese Canadian and seafood restaurants, but we chose Brothers 2 based on the recommendation of the desk clerk at our motel (not the Quality Inn next door). We arrived here around 7PM and the tight parking lot in front was almost full. This restaurant offers a casual dining atmosphere with three dining areas (indoor patio room (plenty of windows, typical dining area with padded booth seating, and dining area with a log cabin feel (fireplace & TVs)), a lounge with TV, and the dinner theatre in the basement. Apparantly, there was a dinner show in progress (Tex In The City), which explains why the parking lot was packed. We were also seated in the front dining room (log cabin atmosphere) and could hear the music from the live dinner show below us. The food offerings on the menu include a good variety of the typical pub fare and Canadian cuisine such as appetizers, salads, chowder, steaks, chicken, seafood dishes, gourmet mussels, ribs, skillets, pasta, sandwiches, and burgers. The prices are moderate, most entrees/sandwich plates priced $10.99-$19.99 before taxes. The appetizer Chicken Quesadillas Grande ($11.99) was a generous platter, flour tortillas filled with chicken, red & green peppers, green onion, tomato, cheddar & mozzarella cheeses, crispy on the top, but soggy on the bottom, served with sour cream and fire roasted salsa in small blue corn tortilla cups. The dinner, Bacon & Cheddar Crusted Haddock ($16.99) was a good amount of food, which was served very hot. The 2 pieces of baked haddock filets were very soft and tender lightly breaded with bacon and cheddar cheese. The side of smashed garlic potatoes was very good, which were soft, creamy with chunks of potato. The vegetables, steamed broccoli and cauliflower were decent and standard. The side of bread (with ADL butter) served cold was soft inside and chewy outside. We passed on dessert since we were both full. The food we had was good for the most part, but nothing memorable. The service however, could improve and was on the slower side, as it took about 10 minutes before the waitress came over to our table for the first time (we were already set to place our order) and over 30 minutes for our food to arrive to our table. The complementary water (tap) with lemon had no ice, not thrilled. I had to remind the waitress about the bread, which was included with the haddock entree. Dinner for two with tax & before tip for one appetizer, one entree, and two waters with lemon was just under $34. read more

Ordered a chowder soup and only received 1/4 full for $12. If you want to skimp out on the servings then change the size of the bowls but don't serve a bowl 1/4 full. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! WORST WE EVER EXPERIENCED!! My fiancee and I entered Brothers two at 7:40 pm on Thursday June 20, 2019 and NO ONE was in line waiting for a seat or even in line to pay, but 4 staff members were gather at the cash gabbing. Then then noticed us and said "table for 2? It will be a moment til we get it cleared!". So we waited 15 more minutes. Finally at our table, we waited and waited for anyone to take our drink order. They All ignored us as we asked for anyone to help us. We sat right next to the computer where all the wait staff punch in something and pick up and return menus and they all said the same thing. "I will be with you in 2 minutes". Well 6 different peoples 2 minutes turned 25 min before anyone came and took our drink order and our lobster order too.Can you imagine almost 40 minutes before ANYONE comes to take your order!! By 9pm as they must have heard us quietly talking to each other about just paying for our 2 drinks . They finally bring mussels, and second drink but not until we had we had to beg them to stop at our table and tell them what we needed . (We never really had " a waitress" the cashier and the busboy helped because our waitress was afraid of my oxygen. Why didn't she just give our table to another waitress?. Instead of us being treated so badly? They weren't happy serving us, they had their own jobs! They sure tried their best but they weren't too happy doing her job while she was doubling up with another waitress handing out cutlery or extra napkins, anything but help us) Well bug deal!! It still took another 4O min to beg someone to get our lobster after waiting and waiting after finishing the mussels. And when it came, it was not our meal. We ordered different potatoes,and these meas came with mashed with old peelings in them. And no Home made Bread!!! We mentioned it to all the wait staff the past that we got the wrong plates and no bread but no one stopped but they ALL heard us So we started to eat the lobster. By this time it was 9:55 Soon we were told the restaurant was closing soon and the ONLY thing that came fast that whole meal was the check!! I had to remind them that desert came with our meal. And again that took time. The restaurant was closing and they still couldn't step on it. If they have a problem with a handicapped woman then they should mention it. We would have taken it to go. I had no problem with oxygen. What was there problem with it? Such blatant rude attitude from our waitress when we did see her and being I like that!. $125 is alot of money to spend on a quiet meal to celebrate a milestone to be ignored on purpose like that!. We were so patient with the staff and they were so ignorant to us, why because i wore oxygen? I have done this same type of work myself for 25 years. You don't treat people like this. I don't care how busy you are!! And they sure had alot of empty tables around us so they sure weren't that busy!! If you can put two waitress the table of 4 next to us at the same time, and just pass out napkins , you could have sent one over to us.!! That was unnecessary to tease us like and a little cruel too. You can never ever be too busy to not be polite and courteous and humane. The people that work at Brothers 2 in Summerside are none of these. And to wreck peoples milestone memories or vacation memories. You people better get on the ball, get some training or something,. You can't go on doing this to people. Server needs a class in politeness. She never came and checked to see if our food was ok. Took forever to get our food after we ordered.

Good was good and was served quickly. The restaurant closed earlier than we are used to. Server was friendly.

Inconsistent service and quality. Prices too high for what you get. Don't get the ribeye. Have gone several times, with friends, and have had the b2 burger (very messy), lobster roll(overdressed, tasted like frozen lobster), thai chicken with noodles (was good!). Last time i went I ordered the ribeye and was very disappointed. I asked for it medium, but it is only a 6oz streak they offer, which is laughably thin. And 25 dollars for that is pretty outrageous even with today's high meat prices. It looked very small and had a grey appearance, more steamed than grilled or fried looking. Ribeyes are fatty, and the fat wasnt rendered, just gross white globs of fat almost impossible to cut through without everyone at the table noticing the struggle. Worst of all, it tasted like the gas from the stove, but coukdnt identify it at the time. I told the waitress it tasted strange and instead of taking back for the kitchen to taste it she asked, "have you ever had a ribeye before?" I tried not to be insulted at the insinuation that Im somehow not an experienced steak eater at 350lbs, and said "yes at home" silently thinking..(where i can actually cook it right). She came back after and explained that the steaks all looked fresh, thinking it might have been off i guess. but I didn't want to ruin this Birthday meal by making it all about my subpar steak so i just accepted this. If you can't cook a ribeye right take it off the menu. It's my favorite cut but it doesn't work at half a cm thick and not cooked at the right heat. I was a little leery eating here based on the reviews, but don't worry because they are not accurate. We had two garden salads and the nachos, and they were all great. I also had a raspberry sour that was on tap and it was delicious. The waitstaff were good as well. Give this place a try! read more

I do not know how this restaurant was rated so low. We dropped in for dinner, after a long day of touring the island. We had Sarah as our server, she made us feel so welcome from the beginning.she had great meal suggestions and really knew her stuff when it came to offering up beer suggestions to all of us that were spot on. It was wing night and a few of us had them they were delicious and hit the spot. I had the Chipotle Deluxe burger, (caramelized onions, monterey Jack cheese, smoked bacon, B2 bbq sauce, and chipotle mayo all on a 6oz patty) it was home made and one of the best I have had at a restaurant in a long time if not ever. Cooked perfectly, great bun to burger ratio and the beef was so juicy and tender. I upgraded to the sweet potato fries, one of my best decisions on this trip, as they were absolutely delicious and some of the best I have had not homemade. I would highly recommend this as a stop for food anytime you are in Summerside PEI and request Sarah as a server, if she is working. The highlight of the night also was when we were finished and Sarah came to offer us dessert, coffee or tea or a shot of tequila (best line ever). read more

The Yelp 3 star rating discouraged us, but other sites seemed more favorable so we gave it a try. Service was technically correct, but a little too casual. We were asked how the food was before taking our first bites and never again until the bill arrived. Then he had no idea how to handle a less than favorable response. Our water glasses were never refilled. It was not very busy on a pre-season weekday. The haddock was only offered blackened which overpowered the taste of the fish. The lobster roll tasted primarily of celery and mayo, overwhelming the lobster. Both orders looked more like appetizers rather than full meals. Poor value compared to other restaurants we have frequented in PEI. The potatoes and vegetables were fresh and well prepared and presented. If we are in the mood for potatoes and vegetables, we will definitely be back. Update: Our receipt had a telephone number printed on it, requesting that we text any comments. We sent a brief note. A customer service person got back to us several days later and apologized for the delay. Apparently they had contacted all their managers to find out who was serving lobster rolls and haddock and wanted to know where we had eaten. It was an unrelated restaurant chain, suggesting that Brothers attitude is "If you didn't like your meal, don't bother us with it, tell someone else". read more

This second meal here first was there loaded nachos . Both meals where great but the burrito was best and washed down with Sir John A's Honey Wheat Beer ice cold from the tap . Had dinner here for lack of choices on Summerside. Food and service turned out to be good, nothing special, but what was expected. Decor is a little dated, ok a lot DATED, but what do you expect in a little town! Waitress was attentive but not over bearing. Next time I'm in town, would come again. read more

We stayed next door at the Quality Inn, the atmosphere is a little dated but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My family ordered the special of prime rib, a chicken sandwich and the fajita wrap. It was all very delicious!! The prices were reasonable, and the restaurant was clean, though they seemed to be a little understaffed and we often went without seeing our waitress for quite a while. They had live music, a local guitar player, who played beautifully and really made you want to stay and enjoy the scene. read more

I've eaten here a handful of times and it is an average restaurant at above average price points. The last meal I had was the red curry dish ($18). The curry was a bit bland but I did like the veggies. Apparently after I questioned why I was charged an extra $5 for chicken (not identified on the menu but the meat options were listed), the server realized she'd been incorrectly charging all of her patrons. I've certainly had better curry dishes at half the cost. From what I remember of my prior visits, they were equally sub par but Summerside is also lacking quality restaurants. read more

Did not live up to the reviews. I've eaten mussels many times and never had beards attached much less so many. Server was nice but unconcerned when I brought it to his attention. More of a sports bar than fine dining but bar was out of olives for my martini. Maybe that PEI is less concerned with the details than I am accustomed to. read more

My first night in town this trip, I decided to try the restaurant right next to my hotel. I found the ingredients for my fried scallops to be very fresh. The accompanying vegetables were locally sourced, and very flavorful. The scallops were cooked perfectly and accompanied by A wonderful home made tartar sauce. I had the lemon meringue pie for dessert, it was OK but nothing to really write home about. I will definitely come back here again. read more

After the last time we ate at Brotthers2 we swore we would never go back. Seven years later we decided to give it another chance. Boy, was that a mistake. We ordered a starter each as the sign outside said Thursday's Apps half price. Nachos were good. Chicken wings were awful - dry and over cooked. Ordered burgers which were OK but nothing you wouldn't get at a local dairy bar. When we got the bill, the apps were full price and when we asked we were told they are only Half price from 7pm (doesn't say that anywhere, just says they are half price) and we ordered at about 6:40pm. It was definitely after 7 by the time they arrived, but they didn't care. It's a pity. It could be a very nice place to eat but the food and the attitude let It down. I understand why whenever I ask people where we should eat in Summerside, no one ever says Brothers 2. Oh well, maybe we'll try it again in another seven years, but I doubt it. read more

Good restaurant with great service, we came in late and they were very nice to serve us with great lobster and delicious mussels.

We really thought our first visit was a fluke, when we ordered " med well" steaks and they both came out to us raw sending blóod through everything else on the plate. The waitress said she we'll send it back and make sure it's "well done". We've seen that before and it comes back burnt and tough. We asked for Med well. Why couldn't they just do that! We just asked for take out cantainers and brought our entire untouched meal home and cooked our steaks med well. What a waste of money paying to eat out! So this time we ordered the $45 lobster meal each and waited as instructed at the door while he said he had to clear a table for us, but there were plenty of empty tables around us. Then he must have forgotten us because he never came back for 20 min until more customers came in the door. Then he came half way, noticed us, stepped back grabbed menus and seated us AND new people at same time! Then we waited and waited for waitress to take our order, or anyone to take our drink order. It was TERRIBLE. Just as we were decided to leave a waitress came and took our order. Soon our drinks and mussels came but after another 45 minutes we had to beg anyone to please get our meal. our waitress was at everyone else's table that already had other waitresses just gabbing and laughing and having a great time, while the cashier was getting our meal that turned out not to be ours. We ordered different potatoes and these meals game with mashed with old peelings in them! They were not NEW POTATOS with new potatoe peelings. These were old potatoes mashed with old potato peelings in the mashed potatoes!!! Then the guy who sat as at our table was the one that refilled our drink when we got his attention because our waitress was no where near us, but we sure could hear her laughing. Then another waitress brought us our dessert. And poof, just like magic, the fastest thing our waitress did all night was to put the check on the table the very second the other waitress drop off the dessert, and glared at her. And after keeping us waiting and waiting, and leaving us to beg other people to serve us, shes holding a debit machine in her hand has she dropped off the cheque and she said. " the Restaurant is closed now, will that be cash or debit or credit card". And I said. "I have not seen you once all evening since you took our order. it has taken us 2 and 3/4 hours to get to this desert and we will pay you in just a few minutes when we have finished our meal. So she was pissed and I can't understand that at all. We are supposed to stop in the middle of or pie and cater to her. She did NOTHING for us all evening. nothing, and now she is mad at us. well that was good when I think about it. What goes through her head. " This couple came in, I took there order, made them wait, everyone else did my work, serving them, I made them wait more, so other people served them. Then as quickly as I could I gave them the check as soon as someone gave them their pie and I told them pay me now before you eat your pie. and they said 'No, not right now' Boy I am sure going to remember these people." I sure hope she does... I hopes she remembers how useless she was and then to magically appear with the cheque and then get pissed off at us.... PRICELESS... but SAD for Brothers 2 to have crappy servers. So many people say they went and won't go back and we had to try it TWICE to be convinced to never go back. Imagine the business they would have if they didn't have such bad service. more Repeat customers! Wow what a concept. Not just tourists or out of town visitors that won't come back to Brothers 2 even if they do come back to town. I have done this work.. you need organized people She was not! This Christmas the group of PEI truckers and wives went for our annual Christmas Dinner and were absolutely not disappointed!! Lobster bisque was good, as was ceasar salad. The highlight was the coconut cream pie was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful, but the place is tired with butter being served out of packages on cold bread. Okay...but tourist food. read more

Was pushed to the bar "due to lack of tables" 7 open tables in the area around us. Was left at bar for 45 minutes where drinks were pushed on us when other groups were offered tables while we waited for one...terrible service, will not return. read more
