The biscuits were perfect. We had a round of Juniper Lattes with our #4 scramble, Gravy Benedict sub ham, and the Momma Lils Special add avocado. I'll start by saying that the food was good! This is a quaint mom & pop breakfast joint and I enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the food! (Recommend the chorizo hash with an egg on top!) I travel alone for work and I do look young, which I believe might have caused the server to give me less than favorable service. I was seated at the "counter" being that I was eating alone. My order was taken in a fair amount of time, though she never asked how I was doing or if I'd been to the restaurant before... or if I had any questions about the menu. My food was delivered quickly but I was never asked if I needed anything else. I was at the counter eating for about 45 minutes. This is a busy area, as the food window was right next to me as well as the service station for drinks. I was never spoken to after my food was delivered by either my server or others that passed by. The server dropped off my check and I had to grab her attention to ask if I should pay with her or at the front. She said "either." I pulled out my corporate card right away and over a 15 minute period, it was never picked up. I then went to the front to pay, where I was immediately greeted and assisted. I have to say even though they were doing construction on the place, it did not look very appealing to me. Just the appearance alone and the inside didn't give me the feel that this place had good food. The establishment was not nasty by all means but you know how some places have an appearance that makes you feel like they may have the best food around. On to the service, the waitress was really great caring for all 6 of our guest. She was polite and explained everything to us. Helped us in a timely manner, it was cool. The food itself..... I had the potato philly cheese steak and I can admit I was weary of course, but it was great! First time having anything like it and I'm mad I couldn't leave the city with it. It was that good. I also sampled my friends food from the pancakes, to the biscuits, to the omelet it was all good. This was definitely a place where I misjudged it by the appearance and construction going on. i was in town for my nieces graduation, and my brother treated the family to breakfast here. Yelpers are a great lot, and we're spot on for breakfast here. I got on the waiting list through yelp (thank you). the peak time helped as well. I waited to tap the waitlist button because the app said 5 minutes, but the clock ticked post the hour and it v popped to 15 minutes. We all got espresso coffees in the "waiting" area, which tired us over till we were seated. Brother Junipers is typically a fantastic stop for any day of the year. Great food and a fun environment. As such, I was excited to share it with my family as they came into town. To say I was let down would be an understatement. We started with a short wait to get our drinks, taking roughly 15 minutes to bring black coffee and waters. We all made our orders as usual, but then it took a turn for the worse. We waited for another 20 minutes before our waiter returned and told us that 2 of our orders could not be completed because they were out of granola. Then, when our food started to arrive another 30 minutes later, they had gotten 2 dishes entirely wrong, replacing bacon and eggs with tofu, and forgot all of our sides. None of the dishes arrived together either, with one individual at our table completing their meal before the others had even received the WRONG order. Normally i would not want to post such a scathing review for a typically good restaurant, but until they can figure out how to serve the correct dish and not take 60-70 minutes for bacon and scrambled eggs, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Just want to start by saying this place would have 5 stars if you had more than 2 servers on a busy Sunday- which based on reviews, is probably one of your busiest mornings. It didn't require syrup but I dipped it in some of the 100% Vermont maple syrup anyway. Comes with home fries or cheese grits. My partner ordered 2 eggs any style with cheese grits and a biscuit as well as one pancake. Loved it pancake was huge biscuit was soft grits were cheesy. I also ordered the juniper late. It was cute has whip cream and caramel syrup it was good. They sent to make their own hot sauce it was spicy. This California girls appreciates that. They ship in their syrup from Vermont and serve it to you in its own container not sure if that's because of Covid or if it's always how they've served syrup but it was cute. I also appreciate the waitlist. We put in our waitlist request on Yelp while still at our hotel about 15 mon drive away. We took our time getting ready and when we arrived our wait was only about 10 more minutes. Highly recommend doing this. Someone else walked in and was told an hour wait because they didn't use this options Cons: this is strictly about service. My server was John. The first thing I asked for was more napkins because they overfilled my latte and it was overflowing onto the table. I never received them. Then as I ordered my monte Cristo (he came back without napkins) ....he said "it comes with cheese grits but you can get home fries" I said I actually wanted the grits so that's perfect. So, by this time my partner is almost done with their food so I just finish eating my sandwich igniting the potatoes because I didn't want them. We put the credit card down he grabs it (again says nothing even though he sees my plate full of potatoes) bring back our paid bill (which my partner still gave 18% regardless) and says thanks for coming. Never remembered that I didn't get grits. Also never checked in with us about anything. As we walk out, practically at the door John runs up to us and says I just remembered the cheese grits , sorry about that. My partner kindly (too kind for me) says no problem. It's whatever because we aren't from here. My baby brother lives here and is younger so will probably continuously come back with the types of crowds that come here. therefore I just ask kindly to please pay attention to your guests and come back and check on them ESPECIALLY if their order was wrong- but also just in general. read more

Our first time at Juniper's and we will be back! Pre-meal: Loved the virtual check-in on Yelp. We added our name to the waitlist on Yelp before we left our house, with 22 ahead of us. Yelp tells you your space in line with live updates. We arrived with less than 10 to go, came inside to check in, and then went back outside to the car to wait for the text to come in telling us our table was ready. The text and Yelp's timing to "first in line" were synced. Smoothest dining check in I've ever experienced. If you can get in line on Yelp, do it! Meal: Portions were large enough to share, imo. Our party had sausage biscuits, the gravy Benedict, Denver omelette, cheese grits, home fries, and pancakes. The omelette (my order) was not your basic ihop omelette. Fresh, and packed full. Everyone else loved their meals as well. Server, host, and pay stations were great as well. Sorry, the only picture I have is my hot chocolate. Went to Memphis/Arkansas for a short weekend trip. My husband and I went on Friday around 10 am and the place was kinda packed. Based on the excellent yelp reviews and recommendations by our family, we decided we'd wait 30 minutes. Located right next to the university, parking can be a challenge but we managed to find parking across the street. I ordered the Mexican omelette which was stuffed with chorizo sausage, black beans, onions, cheese, salsa and sour cream. Husband ordered the chorizo sausage burrito which had eggs, tomatoes, onions, cheese, salsa and sour cream. It came with with the side of fruits and biscuit. We also ordered the homemade granola with blueberries, French toast and juniper latte. Everything was delicious. The omelette was fantastic and loaded up, I absolutely loved it. Their potato's are one of the best potatoes I have ever eaten. So perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous. I couldn't finish it all but it definitely wasn't for lack of trying. The service is great. From the time we walked in, everyone was pleasant. In Memphis for a conference at the Hilton Memphis. On my way out to head home, I decided to give this place a try based on the Yelp reviews. The location was easy to find and was surrounded by the University of Memphis campus and attractions. For a Friday morning, it was packed! Wait time was about 30 minutes if you wanted a table and 10-15 for the counter. I chose the counter since I was alone. My server, I believe her name was Anna S, came and took my drink order and was back quickly to take my food order. I got the veggie omelet with home fries and a biscuit. Food came out shortly after ordering. Biscuit was good with the homemade jam. The home fries were fried perfectly too. I enjoyed my omelet but wished the veggies had been cooked just a little bit more. But it was stuffed full of them. Everything had a good flavor. The only drawback for me was sitting at the counter. It's very tight seating with no hooks to hang your purse underneath. Made it very uncomfortable sitting there. It was out of the way but worth the drive. read more
