I called this past Sunday requesting a call back the next day, as I had heat but thought the thermostat probably needed to be replaced. I got a call back immediately and an appointment for Monday morning. The technician, John was very thorough and explained the problem to me (not the thermostat) and did regular maintenance. He was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The service charge was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again if/when needed. read more

We had a terrible experience with Brookside. We knew our HVAC had a leak, it had unfortunately been leaking year after year. We tried to use our AC right before an upcoming heat advisory and it wasn't working. Called Brookside, they sent a tech to diagnose the issues, that's all fine. The estimates they provided turned out to be grossly inflated (it feels like they came to a nice looking neighborhood and tried to take advantage of us) and then, when we told them we needed to have working AC within a few days time (for my son's birthday party) they made it seem like they were accommodating us by sending someone on a Friday, but that wasn't the case. They sent someone who wouldn't be able to make the fix (doesn't even carry materials on his truck) - they were trying to keep us on the line so that they could eventually get us on their schedule to charge an engorged rate. We ended up calling a local company run by two guys who are phenomenal, they came after hours (and didn't even charge us OT rates, just as a courtesy) and fixed our AC in three hours, charging FIVE TIMES less than what Brookside quoted. read more

Again, Brookside pulls through for us. We had a furnace with a fan/blower problem. They called back quickly, came over within an hour and had the motor replaced only 2 hours later! On May 19th, I booked this company to come out and install an AC since this company installed the heater (new construction). Saturday before Memorial day, Dave sends an email requesting 50% down payment before company will come out. Understandable, but should have been discussed at booking. I send it Tuesday 5/30 at 9 am in Concord NH Post Office. All week long, no mention of any additional payment. Day of (6/2), get an email stating that 1) hasnt received a check from tuesday and 2) requires remaining balance. On what planet does anyone in an residential setting pays full price before any kind of installation without prior notification? No one. We have purchased this house brand new and had extensive work installing generator, custom wiring, and other modifications and the payment schedule was discussed UP FRONT with no surprises. If they wanted full payment upfront, they should have asked for it at 3 different times. 1) At the booking 2) at first correspondence regarding partial payment 3) at any time before the DAY OF INSTALLATION. This company is highly unprofessional and out of the norm for my experience dealing with New Hampshire businesses. I hope this review keeps people away from shysters such as these. read more

No cooling from my AC! Called them up and they were able to come in two days (faster than I had expected) I had an appointment for 2pm, they called at 1:30 saying they wouldn't be able to make until 4pm due to the previous appointment taking longer than anticipated (not a huge deal). Guys showed up at 4 and fixed it within an hour. Did an excellent job, went above and beyond to explain some of the heating/cooling equipment I had in the house (we had just purchased it). Hire these guys if you want them to steal your things. We had two young techs here on Monday, they went into a room they weren't supposed to be in and took something that did not belong to them. Things can be replaced, trust cannot be rebuilt. read more

I live in Salem,NH, We built a house on a small lake about 3 years ago, as our cleaning service was cleaning the exhaust hood over our stove, it separated from the wall. Maybe she was leaning a bit too much on it. I didn't know who to call so I called my builder who is DHB, they told me Brookside Mechanical had installed it. I called yesterday , received and instant call back. Bob, the owner actually came to my house first thing today, the next day! and fixed it. Totally happy with Bob and his business.
