I was surprised to go there and find no carrots, and another time no cucumbers but they are frequently out of different things. The flyers this store publishes and sends to us via the US Mail should be burned as soon as we get them. You better have a good pair of glasses or a magnifying glass to decipher all the hidden little caveats and stipulations to get the sale price. You better read that fine print, and don't pay much attention to the sale dates, because that doesn't apply to everything on the flyer. If the sale says July 2-7 on the bottom of the flyer, then it seems that it is only right to include every product they include on the flyer. Otherwise LEAVE IT OFF! You buy New York strips, buy one get one for a penny. Nope. That applies only to the FAMILY PACK. Small print. When you accidentally picked up the rib-eyes, you'd think the cashier would have said more than wrong steak. maybe let me know it was only for a family pack. Especially since I left all my groceries in the car to come back and purchase the New York strips. You buy Nature's OWN Bread for $1.47. Nope. That does not apply to July 2-7. It's only good for one day in those days and this ain't it. Sorry. You buy cherries for $2.97 a pound. Nope. That only applies to the ones in a pack. Buy one Brookshire's brand potato chips and get one for a penny. Nope. That only applies to the wavy or Lays, whatever.. I truly believe that the Brookshires Bros. do this so we all have to pay full price because we don't want to hold up the line when she has to call the manager over to void the sale. It isn't fun to shop there. I leave there needing a strong alcoholic drink. Thank God I don't have to buy my gin there. They are always out of the tonic in small bottles anyway. Have been in Chandler for 7 years, service station is pathetic. Contacted the so called Administration and their response to my inability to use my triple A credit rating is we can meet you at the pump and see what is wrong with YOUR credit card. What? Everywhere else I go the card is no problem. So why is Brookshires different? OMG, this is beyond customer service and dignity. Cannot wait to get out of this crappy town and away from this crappy store. When is HEB going to arrive and rescue us from this grocery hell. HEB is so much better!!!! read more

Prices are high, but the poeple are friendly. Facility is nice and very clean. The vegetables look really good. They have good rotation of stock. They have fun game for the kids to keep them busy why the parents shop. Kiddos can get a free banana or apple to munch on while they're shopping. read more

We visited Chandler, TX and went to this store for about a week. Each time we were asked if we had a card. When I finally asked to get a card, since we decided to stay at the campgrounds longer, I was told that the card was not available at the store but it could be mailed to me. This was certainly of no help at the time of purchase, so I did not buy half of the items I wanted, but went to Walmart instead. During our traveling, their have been stores that have a guest card that they will graciously use for us. Brookshire's needs to re evaluate this card procedure. We haven't been back to that store. read more

I have been shopping at this store since 2008. I occasionally buy my groceries at other stores, but this one is close to my home and to save time and gas I buy there. I know there prices are higher than say Walmart but I guess you pay for the convenience of location. The meat is terribly high priced. After they recently remodeled the store I noticed that in the side loading area of the store numerous pallets stacked. It was obvious to the casual observer that they were stacked in accordance with whom ever they were to be returned to with the acceptation of one stack that was a bunch of cheap pine ones, half of which were damaged. I'm helping a friend who wants to build a shelter for the stray dogs she feeds and so I asked the manager of the store if it was possible to get a couple of these pallets. Before I finished my sentence, he interrupted me and started shaking his head no and told me they had to be returned and that " they cost as much as ten or twelve dollars a piece " I didn't expect to get them for nothing. I did expect not to be treated offhandedly. I am retired contractor. I had a successful business because I treated every customer with the respect they deserved for giving me their business. I think that manager needs a refresher course in customer relations. read more

Brookshires used to be known for it's great customer service but this one in Chandler seems to have hired a bunch of duds in that regard. Half the time I end up bagging and carrying my groceries myself because the young men there would rather flirt with the cashiers. read more

I actually just came here to fill up on gasoline. It was $1.86/gallon for unleaded. I've seen some places in Tyler that were $1.85, but many of the filling stations between Tyler & Athens (at least closer to Athens) are $1.87 & up. And the location was easy to reach from Highway 31. I still haven't gone inside the grocery store part, but it would be nice to check it out sometime. Especially to see if they have stuff that I can't find at Walmart. The parking lot at least looked much less chaotic than a Walmart Supercenter parking lot. read more
