I've stopped in here from time to time to buy their fudge and gelato. The gelato has always been so creamy and fantastic, and the fudge was literally to die for! The owner would also always start a conversation with me, as if I were family! This place was definitely a 5 star. Hence "was". Apparently the store in under new ownership, and this place has DRAMATICALLY gone downhill.
First, I came in with my husband recently to get gelato and fudge. The gelato is no longer creamy; the employee working had a difficult time scooping it. The nuts in the Rocky Road tasted very old, musty and stale. My husband had to throw away his because his gelato tasted so bad. The fudge is terrible too, which is a huge disappointment. It was very dry, tasted horrible, and again, the nuts were rancid.
Second, the new manager is very rude and snobby. At least she was to me and my husband. She refused to give us a refund for the gelato my husband had to throw away. And she has her child at the store every time I've stopped in. He's constantly running around the fudge, which is definitely unsanitary. I've also witnessed her spank her child, while others were in the store. Yes, SPANKED. I find that very unprofessional.
To finish off on a good note though, the young girls who always work there are very kind. They work hard, keep a clean store, and an even cleaner bathroom. That's the reason why I'm giving this place two stars instead of one.
All in all, I will not be back. I've told my friends and family as well, and they won't be back either. It's a shame how bad this store has gone downhill. If it were up to me, I'd fire the new manager and get someone more professional in her place. read more
