Dr. Pepper bottles, cigarettes, chew, bags of chips, and candy. Oh wait, don't forget the lottery tickets, and scratch offs, as well. For me, I generally only stop at joints like these to fill up my tank. I don't buy candy, lottery tickets, or other items of waste, unless it's beer, or wine. With this said, Hillbilly Hangout is a great store to stop in for a quick sixer, or bottle of vino. Seriously, who the hell would ever imagine that a gas station, in Flint, Texas, of all places, would have such an impressive selection of beer, and wine. It almost doubles as a second store. Colorful patrons, friendly employees, and a damn good spot to pick of a six pack of Porter, or a IPA. For that, Hillbilly Hangout gets 4 stars.

It never turned on and evidently was out of order, so I went inside to inquire about it and three people were at the counter.said they knew nothing about it, but the older lady said it hadn't work in weeks. So instead of refunding my one dollar- not really that big a deal but a pain in the butt- they told me they're not "reliable" for it and said they would call someone if there was no number on the machine. there was no number on the machine so I went back inside and the girl said she would call them in a minute after she finished doing whatever it was she was doing and proceeded to count down a cash drawer and say sorry you're having a bad day. Not until now is what I told her as I waited some more. By now I'm getting a little perturbed and asked the name of the place as I get out my iPhone to report this on yelp. Suddenly, one of the other ladies hands me a dollar refund and says she'll deal with it later. No sign on the non-working 1$ machine for two weeks??? Makes you wonder about this place. There's not really anything in Tyler, and we always have drive out a bit to find a liquor store. Let me just say, this place is the BEST I've visited out in East Texas so far! If it wasn't an hour away from home, though... argh! Not the point though... this place had everything we were looking for, even grabbed some Texas bottle holders, with some tasty spirits for a later session with friends. Also picked up a hat for my father in law, we EVERYONE in WA & TX knows as Papa. Loved the store, the staff was extremely friendly, loved the merch and inventory!! Thank you for a great experience! The place was sparkling clean and these two were enjoyable to interact with. They helped me and my husband find what we needed and were so willing to go above and beyond. This is definitely our new gas stop when we are traveling this direction.
