My wife and I went on a Monday...were seated fairly quick, receiv menus that were well used, torn. We ordered a fish sandwich and house salad with fried chicken strips. Fish sandwich was served with no tartar sauce, seafood sauce, just bare fish. Fish was well overcooked and not good. Served with fries that were oily.. House salad with chicken fingers was good. Chicken was spicy And lettuce was shredded but probably works in other types of salads. Took 15 minutes to get the check alth the place was almost empty. Not many restaurants in Tryon and we were disappointed this is another that if they don't improve, will be gone. I sure hope they improve. Owner should go to Hare & Hound and try their fried fish. read more

5:30pm on a Friday. Restaurant is nearly empty. While waiting for several minutes by the door, four staff were casually chatting by the bar. Finally someone tells us it will be a 15 min wait. We said no problem, and asked if we could have a drink in the bar while we wait. They said "no" because they have a "policy". So we left. First and last time at this place. read more

Food was lackluster, service was fine, but charged us for using a credit card, charged us to refill a fountain drink at 5.90 for a sprite. At the prices they charge for the entree's it was a bit much. We won't coming back. read more

Over an hour after order placed. Then told that they lost the order. After I asked waitress twice about it. Guess she never checked on it. So when we were going to leave she tells me and says food will be right out. So we stayed. Fish sandwich was good. Burger just ok. Missing the fries which were replaced with bag chips. They said they were out of house cooked chips. They comped the food and charged us 4.00 for one sweet tea. We left a tip and will not be back. Can't really recommend the place. Hope they get it together. Other reviews have had the same issue. Word of mouth and reviews are customers only recourse to warn others. read more

I'm not one to normally leave a bad review but this was super disappointing. My husband and I go to brooks tavern in Hendersonville for all of our special occasions. We've been so excited to find out there was one coming so close to us. Well it's got a long way to come. It took quite awhile for our server to approach us for a drink order, for the amount of customers to server ratio. We ordered everything at once my husband got the kimchi burger and I got my very favorite food in the world the blackened chicken nachos (which I informed our waitress these were my absolute favorite and sometimes they forget to put candied bacon on the nachos and they put regular so please make sure it's what the menu describes on the nachos.) and I ordered a side salad. I never received my side salad but got an entree salad with my food instead to which the server apologized and said they would fix it on the bill. My husband kimchi burger was good but it was not Kimchi merely cabbage with some sauce on it. My nachos looked horrible and the chips were burnt the bacon was regular and the beer cheese was separated which means it's kind of gritty. I informed the server she offered to remake it but the beer cheese was no good so I didn't want it remade. Disappointed we finished our meal with not 1 drink refill, we get the bill and they have taken the chicken nachos off but still billed me for a large house salad I never ordered and was forced to eat due to the fact the chicken nachos were inedible. Need to work out the kinks.... Short staffed and no hostess mean lots and lots of waiting . Puny beer choices ( all bud products? PLEASE). Kitchen out of many food items. My chicken tasted and looked like fried fish. The texture was unrecognizable. Worst thing was the owner was walking around and could see people waiting, glasses unfilled, little food coming out of kitchen, yet refused to help out or greet people who came to support his soft opening???! That's not cool. Don't have a soft opening when you a clearly not ready. I will wait a good long while before I go back. Hopefully they will get it together. read more

We came here recently with a group of people. Service was ok! A few people at our table ordered the fried chicken sandwich everyone was amazed at the massive pieces of chicken. Sadly however it was about 3/4 breading and one super tiny piece of chicken buried in the middle. I got the shrimp basket. Not the worst I've ever had. Not the best either. The breading just fell off. Fries were just ok. A little salty but not too bad. A lot of people got the chicken tenders. I tried those as well. Would definitely come back to eat those. They got glowing reviews especially compared to everything else! read more

A nice quaint establishment with a good variety of menu selections. The Smashburger ranks at one of the best I've had. The Turkey Apple Brie was outstanding as well. Kudos to the chef! A few hiccups with new server and large parties being seated before us so it was a bit slow but to be expected. The food was on point and the service was friendly. We love the Hendersonville location and think this one will be just as good as soon as they hit their stride. read more

We chose to just drop in last minute.... It was very busy, but was seated right away. Sat us in back room with large parties of people. I wish they would have asked if we wanted to wait for the front part of the restaurant which was so much quieter. We were seated right in front of the musician. He was very good at what he does, but the whole area was noisy. Service was pretty good considering how busy they were. We wanted fish and chips. Didn't tell us when they gave us the menus that they had not received their order of cod for that day. So we had to look at the menus again. We ordered Rubens.... They came out to our table with burnt bread. Unfortunately we had to send them back. The server was very nice, we learned later that she was the owner. They remade the sandwiches. When the ck came they didn't charge us for the Rubens. We were there for 2 hrs. We appreciated that they didn't charge us. We left more than a 20% tip. We tipped her as if we paid for the Rubens. The quality of the food is wonderful. The cornbeef was very lean and non salty. The sandwich was stuffed with the cornbeef. We highly recommend this restaurant. They can't even make a decent sandwich. Servers a few and untrained. The kitchen should be trained to make 8 dishes well and rotate a few specials instead of a menu of 40 items and do them poorly. The beer, however is top notch! read more

We love Brooks Tavern in Tryon! It's so nice to have a spot that stays open late and has great food, drinks and staff!

August 20, 2023, three of us decided to have dinner at the newly opened Brooks Tavern. We were seated promptly and placed our order. After waiting for almost two hours for food, we decided to leave as this was entirely too long! I approached the server (who is also co-owner of the restaurant) and she displayed very little concern or consideration. She feigned surprised that we had not received our food--knowing all the time that she never placed the order. She offered no apologies or explanations. She offered nothing to let us know that our business was important to her. She simply forgot to place our order. I'm usually very reasonable about human error. I don't mind a mistake; it's how you handle it that tells me whether you care or not. The server was very cavalier about this situation. As I was exiting the restaurant, I spoke briefly with the other co-owner (her husband) who was very apologetic. For me, going to a new restaurant is about the entire experience. My expectations were higher than what was delivered at Brooks Tavern. read more
