I don't just want to duplicate the many positive reviews already here, but like lots of other folks I too am extremely pleased with their service and attention to detail. I've used them for multiple commercial projects over the past years and, most recently, they painted my own home. I can absolutely confirm they are one of the premier painters in the greater Sacramento region. I was deeply saddened by the untimely death of their founder Jeremy Brooks (he was extremely charismatic to say the least) and, to be honest, I was a little concerned that things would never be the same at Brooks with him no longer at the helm. After the project that completed this week, I can now assure you that the legacy that Jeremy left is certainly being honored by his former protégé (and now new owner) Corey. The workmanship and professionalism of the crews is just as exemplary as ever. From the pressure washing to the clean-up at the end, all aspects went smoothly. Wow! I am amazed at how good our house looks. Our team for exterior paint and deck stain (Israel and Rodrigo) did incredible work. They were professional (showed up on time, communicated each step of the way, were neat and organized with prep and clean up). Israel noticed a beam that was technically supposed to be the main color (green) but he said it would look better in the trim color (brown). Recently bought a house and tried to remove the popcorn ceilings solo. The diy videos on YouTube made it look so easy. In one weekend I managed to partially scrape a couple bedrooms, gouge the drywall and damage my handyman credibility with my wife. Corey swooped in and saved the day. Met with Corey in February to give us a bid on a whole house exterior paint. He was very polite, engaging and had great suggestions. We received his quote the next day and we decided to proceed. We were scheduled for the last week of May, and as of this afternoon (5/28), everything is complete. Alfredo came by a week before painting day to walk the job site, and we got our power wash prior to that. As scheduled back in February, on May 23rd Roberto and his crew were at our door promptly at 7am. Everything was spot on. All of the four colors were exactly what we ordered. And they did the job with skill and precision. They finished up around noon today, and the house looks fantastic! They were considerate, polite and professional. Hats off to all of them. Was interested in having my house painted and Brooks had great reviews. Scheduled an estimate and the estimator Corey steered me far away from Brooks. He was extremely pushy and I was overwhelmed by his attempts at sales tactics when I was just trying to get a simple estimate (which then turned out to be extremely high). I'm sure Brooks does a great job painting, but it's a hard pass after dealing with an estimator like that. read more

Lame response from Jeremy who told me he didn't believe me about Corey. And six months later the caulking is already separating. If they used the caulking they said they were using, it wouldn't be separating already. Shawn nicely came and fixed a wall but said "don't call again." So much for my warranty. I'd run from this company. They only care about money, not customer satisfaction. read more

As a consequence of a roof leak, I had peeling paint and flaking drywall on a ceiling. Dan made the entire ceiling like new again. He is a careful and precise painter. He took time to properly prep the job, and cleaned up completely when finished. I will use Brooks again whenever needed. read more

I wish I could give a better review but a 3 is still average. First, some advise. Tell contractors what bathroom they can use. Without asking, one of the 4 painters took a dump in my primary/master bathroom. I have 2 bathrooms upstairs and 1 downstairs. I don't know why he chose mine. I found out by seeing remnants of his s*** in my toilet. When they came back the next day I made it clear that they could use the downstairs bathroom only. After they finished for the week, 3 of the same painters came back to fix some issues that took about 2 hours. One of them used my bathroom again!!! I heard the toilet flush, checked it and saw multiple paint chips in the toilet (I always keep all toilet lids down and this lid was now up)...yuck!!! I am sure that was on purpose just to "show me". I don't let my own kids use my bathroom. That alone would keep me from hiring them again but it's not at all what my rating is based on. Now for the work. I had a living room, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a stairwell, hallway, and my kitchen cabinets painted. No ceilings were painted since I had popcorn removed and repainted a couple of years ago. They showed up and left on time each day. They cleaned up at the end and labeled the paint cans for future use. At a glance, everything looked really good. Major improvement from the old 1980's tan look. During the final walkthrough, I had them correct drip marks on walls, sections painted the wrong color, lines between wall and ceiling that weren't straight, paint on baseboards. They made those corrections with no complaints. They got 2 large drops of paint on a very expensive piece of workout equipment but I didn't want them to try to clean it for fear of damage. After the initial walkthrough, I found more imperfections - paint on my kitchen counters, broken outlet wall plates, imperfections on a painted wall, paint on my carpet, bleed over on a large section of a ceiling, screw holes on the inside of kitchen cabinets they took offsite and repainted, still not sure what that's about. I let them know about everything except the ceiling because I just noticed it. They came back (that's when the guy used MY toilet again) and fixed one of the things I listed above but not the others. I'm not sure why they didn't fix the others. During and after the walkthrough, I pointed out things that should be obvious if you're in the trade. It seems like they will only fix it if you point it out, and in my case, not in it's entireity when pointed out. Do the right thing as the professional. If it needs to be fixed don't leave it up to the owner to point it out, just fix it. That alone would have made this a better review. The photos will show the paint on the kitchen counters, on the ceiling, the wall they came back to fix, the holes in the cabinets, and the specs in the paint (you have to zoom in on that one to see the specs. If I had to do it over again I would probably use my handyman. It may have taken longer to complete but it would have been a helluva lot cheaper, and he respects my space. He's never used my bathroom, or broken anything that he didn't tell me about or just fixed on his own. I gave them 3 stars because they seem as good as any other rando. My guess is my handyman would've earned 4 or 5 stars based on quality and saved me a few thousand dollars. read more

I recently bought a house that needs a lot of renovation work, and since I needed some painting job for both interior and exterior, I've decided to call around and get some estimates. I passed by Brooks Painting since I was a student at UC Davis, so I decided to call and ask to get some numbers. Kennedy, the girl who arranged an estimate walkthrough, was really helpful even when they were busy. I had high hopes, especially since they had great reviews. ....until Corey Schmidt, their estimator, showed up and decided to be a disrespectful asshat. I told him I've been calling around to get bids from local painters, and of course, as a consumer, I want to look for the provider who offers me the best deal. When I told him that, his words are, "If you are looking for the best deal, then I'm not your guy" and started acting as if he didn't want to get the job at all. He just briefly glanced at the house and just threw me vague numbers, and didn't even bother writing anything down or taking pictures. His behavior was arrogant and acted as if he had no interest. As a client, no one is going to want to do business with someone like this moron, especially while other two contractors are trying to do whatever it takes to get the project in their hands. This guy apparently doesn't care. As a business manager myself, a little advice - don't leave a bad first impression on potential customers. You are not only going to lose any future projects that the customers might have down the road, but also get bad referrals when the customers' friends or colleagues need help. read more

Cory provided all necessary information to make an informed decision. Needless to say I went with Brooks Painting and definitely made the correct decision. We got a paint quote more than a year before our project was ready to be completed. When I reached back out to Corey at Brooks, the response was prompt, he remembered all the details we had covered, and he got us scheduled right away. Through some rescheduling and shifts, I got the pleasure of also communicating with Cynthia, who quickly took care of any scheduling concerns or questions I had, working in tandem with Corey to deliver absolutely excellent customer service. When the time came to paint, the crew (led by yet another courteous and professional man named Dan) showed up on time, abided by the COVID precautions we had set in place, and tore through the project with efficiency and care. We did have some slight hiccups. A miscommunication led to an item being painted over that should have been left alone, and a high-traffic stair railing was chipped shortly after they left. For a very brief time it was concerning, but Dan assured me not only that it would be fixed, but that it would be replaced if they weren't able. The painted-over item was fixed immediately with no issues, and I was on their schedule again for the railing touch up, which was very prompt. There was no part of the project that I felt like Brooks wouldn't or couldn't deliver. As a bonus, Dan came back to complete the railing touch-up, and we had him paint another small room with the leftover paint for a very fair price. Brooks Painting painted the full interior of our home in March 2017. This week I decided to move furniture, which meant moving pictures and other objects that had caused holes to be placed in the dry wall. I didn't have any paint left over for this particular area and had to have some made to match. Unfortunately, the quart size can did not match even though the numbers matched. I had another quart made and it still didn't match. I emailed Brooks Painting asking them to confirm the numbers, which they did. But they even went much, much further. Heather explained the situation to Jeremy who immediately got their painting representative, Brandon involved. The next morning Brandon arrived, determined the problem and had it fixed before noon.
