I booked a house call on the Domus website and the next morning Dr. Gagarkin came to me, at my home, right on time. No commute, no waiting room, no rescheduling my whole day around a 15-minute appointment. In addition to the convenience of only needing 30 minutes for my appointment, the level of care was also above and beyond what I had come to expect from a doctor visit. Dr. Gagarkin listened carefully, asked thoughtful follow-up questions, and worked with me to land on a solution that actually fit my situation rather than a one-size-fits-all type of treatment. With my previous doctor I had to sit in a waiting room to be called, then sit in a treatment room to answer 20+ questions from a nurse, then wait in the treatment room after being told "the doctor will be in shortly". A few minutes later I would finally see my doctor for quick 5-10 mins while they rushed through a checklist to get to the next patient. Compared to this Domus Primary Care is an absolute no-brainer and I highly recommend them to everyone.

I was recently referred to the office on West 19th street for several procedures…read more I arrived very excited to receive fillers so that my lips can look fuller, and receive fillers under my eyes to remove the bags underneath. Needless to say my experience turned out very poorly! I am writing you to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the finished product & the treatment I received from "Hazel", the individual that performed the "work done" with the hopes you can help remedy this situation. Hazel arrived over an hour late, was rushed, and completely disconnected from the task at hand. Given this was my first time getting fillers it would've been helpful for Hazel to properly explain what to expect. More directly, she used one syringe and the bags were never removed. The area underneath my eyes looked worse - even after 2 weeks. I called several times to make a follow up appointment, & sent pictures. On the second visit I was treated with "radio frequency" and Hazel admitted that she should've used 2 syringes and threw away the remainder of the 1st syringe during the first visit. Another week passed, my eyes still bruised, and I decided to go back for a 3rd visit...to rectify this mess once and for all. Again, after I waited an hour and a half to meet with "Hazel" what I personally witnessed from "Hazel" (aside from whether the work was or wasn't performed correctly) was an utter lack of respect towards a customer. I respectfully expressed my displeasure politely and with legitimate concern ONLY. What I experienced back was language filled with passive aggression and insults. Hazel acted like trash. She was condescending, nasty, disrespectful, and petty. She wanted to go toe-to-toe with the customer instead of acting with empathy to try and alleviate my concerns. At times Hazel threw her hands up in the air with disgust, told me - SHE (Hazel) was unhappy, her time was being wasted, told me to "do whatever I want about complaining or another procedure" and could care less how I felt. I even said I would take my grievances online and to social media and I was told go do whatever. Never in all my years of visiting doctors offices have I seen a professional person act in such a disgraceful manner. I am informing everyone on Yelp because I cannot see how logical it would be for you a business owner in New York City to allow someone to represent their business in that manner. Don't trust your face, your body, or anything with a place that doesn't respect you. Thank You for Listening

I chose this practice because it was close to my home and Dr Ylonka was in-network of my insurance. Upon arriving at the practice, the staff promptly took my insurance info and charged $15 for the copay. I paid with my credit card. During the consultation with Dr. Ylonka, she suggested that I do an annual physical exam. She looked some things up on her computer and confidently said, "GHI (my insurance company) covers the annual physical exams. If you do it today, you don't even have to pay the copay. My staff will refund you the copay on your way out." Huge mistake for not double checking with my insurance company that the physical is indeed covered in my insurance, and the most expensive one I've made in my life. On my way out, the staff cancelled my earlier payment of $15. By this action, it was clear that they were sure that the staff thought my insurance was coverkng the physical exam in full, unless they already knew it wasn't covered and wanted to sham their new patient. The $15 was credited back to my account 3 days later, of which I have the record. Two months later, I get a bill from Dr. Ylonka's practice of $250, the steepest price tag I've heard for an annual physical exam. I called them to inquire of it, I simply get the the same line: "Our record indicates that you came in wanting a physical and therefore it is your sole responsibility that you came in with a full knowledge of physical exam coverages of your insurance. Therefore, we are not at fault." No. No matter how many times I tell them to stop lying (I did not schedule a physical. The doctor suggested performing the physical by misleadingly telling me that it is fully covered by my insurance) and explain the record of the copay being credited back, they do not have an answer. They simply read the line again... "Our record shows that..." Your record can say anything you like but wouldn't mean much since it doesn't explain the cancellation of the copay. Shame on them. I really hope the doctor does not do this knowingly and regularly to read off from patients. Shameful for bold face lying of the staffs. Also, it took them more than a week to come up with that "Our record..." line. Before they came up, their previous line was "we will call you back when we find out tomorrow." They never called me back. I always had to call to inquire. On the phone with the practice yesterday, the staff did mention that the doctor "sometimes gets confused" of what is covered by insurances or not. I asked back if that is a good enough excuse to first tell all patients that everything is covered and then later charge all. Of course, there came the expected line: "Our record shows that..."
