We emailed Doug and Deirdre of Brooklyn Bitches at about 11:00 PM less than 24 hours before we had to leave town for an emergency trip. This was at a very busy time of year, Christmas week. Doug called us back within 15 minutes! He told us they were overbooked for the holiday and that he didn't know anyone else of quality who would be available...... HOWEVER, when I explained our situation (death in the family, highly leash-aggressive dog, separation anxiety issues) Doug's big heart kicked in and he agreed to find a way to squeeze us in right there on the phone, pending a visit. Deidre sent us multiple references to call but frankly we went with them due to the strong "gut feeling" we had being around Doug and Deirdre when we met them, the way Algo took to them so quickly and we also trusted the many great reviews here and on Yelp.com. They did have 4 other clients in our building and the doormen had great things to say about them. Doug and Deirdre came over the next morning and Algo took to them both instantly, no small feat in itself. Algo had a great time in our absence. We know this because they sent us adorable and hilarious photos and videos after every single walk or visit. Doug and Deirdre take communication to an exceptional level. My husband and I are huge fans of Brooklyn Bitches. Our doggie, Mason, used to have anxiety with bigger dogs, but the team handled it flawlessly. They understand the pack mentality, similar to the caesar milan approach. Since using their services, Mason is a much more confident, friendly dog around the big dogs. We also greatly appreciated the daily laugh from the doggie pics they text during the walk. Mason stayed with Eric a few times when we left town and we felt at ease knowing he was in good hands. Not to mention, Mason went crazy with joy when he would see any of the walkers. All in all, Brooklyn Bitches is reliable, accommodating, and a joy to work with. Eric and his team are great. We've had to change the schedule on them a few times and they are always flexible and accommodating. More importantly, it's evident they truly care about dogs. I have an elderly dog who recently suffered a herniated disc. I was concerned that Eric and his team would not be willing to carry her outside to relieve herself every day, but they reassured me that it was no problem at all, and took the time to discuss specifics with me over the phone. I love getting a text with a summary and photo of how the walk went. I never have to worry about letting Eric or any of his employees into our home. It's tough to find dog walkers in Brooklyn. The demand has led to extreme prices and inflexible companies. That's why we were pumped when a friend recommended Brooklyn Bitches. They are very accommodating to schedule changes and offer reasonable, competitive prices. You have to put a lot of faith in a company to let a stranger into your home and take your dog out. The walkers at Brooklyn Bitches have never let us down and are extremely trustworthy from day one. They have an organized monthly payment system and have helped us out of a few last minute binds. Doug takes care of my two pugs Moby and Tuna. Like most dog owners, I am obsessed with my dogs, think about them all the time, have "trust issues"...the list goes on. Not only do my fur children clearly love their daily visits and walks with Doug, but I get a daily update with hilarious videos and pictures. There is NOTHING better than seeing a video of Moby snoring at lunchtime to get myself thru the day. Doug is amazing and so patient with Tuna (who can be difficult to put it lightly.) Eric and his team have walked our French Bulldog for almost two years.
