I mean, let's put things in perspective, I don't have one of those baby strollers for him, but he does have a Facebook page. And, unlike many people living in Brooklyn, he has health insurance. What a great service. Eric and team are very trustworthy and reliable. We have been using them for about 6 months now and the service is stellar. When they arrive they text you and send you picture of your dog to let you know they have them and they are safe and in their care. When they are finished they text you again to let you know your dog is home. I feel that my dog is safe and in good hands with them, which is the most important thing. Also, as someone who travels frequently for work, they are available to on-the-fly in case a flight gets delayed and you don't make it home in time. This happened to me more than once. When my boyfriend and I got our female corgi puppy in June we didn't have a plan beyond a vague "she'll need a dogwalker." That might make us sound awful but we'd never had a dog in an apartment before so we were a tad unprepared. Once she received all of her shots I sent an email to Brooklyn Bitches explaining what our needs were. That was on a Thursday, Doug & Deirdre dropped by over the weekend to meet us and our pup and they began walking her on Monday. Deirdre comes by once a day, 5 days a week since the beginning of July. Daisy loves her and I love the pictures she sends me and the notes she leaves at the end of the day. I feel like Deirdre really cares about and loves Daisy, even when Daisy is teething and being a brat (which recently started and is not very fun). I would recommend them to anyone. I have 2 dachshunds and everyone who is familiar with the breed knows that they can be stubborn, picky, noisy and not always friendly towards strangers. When Eric showed up for meet&greet they let him get into the apartment with no single bark (what never happened before) and instead of jumping on him, they got so calm and they encircled him looking directly at his eyes. They always so happy to see all boys and they can recognize them from far away. All of them: Eric, Trey and Skip are real - they don't pretend they are too sweet, they just do their job well. Let me add that I fight for animal rights and I'm super suspicious when it comes to animal abuse so finding "Brooklyn Bitches" was my peace of mind. There were few situations when I was at home but I didn't cancel the walks and boys showed up exactly at the time they send the text what is very important for me too. Highly recommend! They notify us when they're picking up, send us two picture messages during the walk, and let us know when he's been dropped off. Doug is incredibly kind, professional, and super attentive. Doug has been walking my dog Pip since we adopted her in May 2012. From our first meeting, I could tell how much he loved dogs and how much care he put into his business. He didn't mind that she wasn't totally crate trained yet, and cleaned up any messes that had happened in the house before he got there (and let me know about them). A month later I got picked for jury duty and my schedule was all over the place, and Doug was super flexible and was able to walk Pip on short notice when I got stuck in court. Doug sends me pictures or videos every time he walks Pip, and it's such a great pick me up in the middle of the day. I can tell by all the pictures that Pip is having a great time and is in wonderful hands. Pip LOVES Doug - we've ran into him a few times at the dog park and she runs right over for an ear rub. Eric and his crew are outstanding, as you can see from dozens of 5-star reviews. The only reason we won't be utilizing their walking services anymore is because we're moving out of the neighborhood. The crew walked our dog, Rosie, for more than six months, including when she was still very much a puppy to now more than a year old. She is a 55-pound Giant Schnauzer who is full of life! She absolutely ADORED her walkers, and they took amazing care of her. They are excellent at communicating and always send awesome pictures during walks, too. For any animal lover (but especially us crazy dog folks), this is a huge comfort. I was really hesitant to let anyone else walk Rosie at first, because she is truly our four-legged child. But meeting Eric first, and having him meet Rosie, I felt really good moving forward with their services. I can't speak highly enough of the walkers. When you hire a dog walker you are looking for someone who is going to care about your dog(s) nearly as much as you do and someone you can trust alone in your home. Let me start by saying Doug loves dogs as is evident in many of the other reviews. He even came for a couple of extra visits while my wife and I were out of town for the weekend at no charge. The issue was that when we returned there was half a bottle of prescription medication missing and no one else had access to our apartment. Doug did fess up when I confronted him and was extremely apologetic, but then went on to ask me "not to turn this into a big thing" and continued following up with me trying to sweep his mess under the rug. This is the only dog walking service that I have used, so I don't have much frame of reference, but there are several reasons why I originally chose Eric/Brooklyn Bitches (and why I continue to use them). Firstly, it's really important to me that my dog isn't walked in large group. She gets along with other dogs fine, but if I'm paying for a walk I want her to get some personalized attention. Brooklyn Bitches is really good about this. My dog is usually walked with one other dog, which is great because she gets some social interaction without getting lost in the shuffle of a large group walk. Secondly, it's important to me that I know when my dog is being walked, and they're really good about this too. I always get a text when she is picked up and dropped off, and in between I usually receive a couple photos. This not only offers peace of mind, but is also kind of fun because I've met some of the other dog owners around the neighborhood when we recognized each other's dogs from the pictures. Finally, they're pretty flexible about your schedule. I've cancelled or added walks at the last minute, and Eric always works really hard to make sure he can accommodate your needs. With Brooklyn Bitches you don't get some of the bells and whistles of more expensive services, but it's nice to support a small business, and in return your pup gets a lot of personal attention. UPDATE ON 2/17/15: I originally gave a four-star rating but have since amended it to five. I recently found myself in a predicament when I locked myself out of my apartment at midnight on a Sunday. I called Eric because he was the only person with extra keys to my apartment. I explained the situation and he hopped on his bike immediately to come let me in. Doug is awesome! To say our dogs are high energy is to put it nicely. He handled all three with ease. He also walked our dogs every Saturday night when my boyfriend and I both work, for months, getting our new pup through her tiny bladder phase. Doug and Deirdre have been walking Jett for just over a year now, when Jett was about 6 months old. Doug responded quickly to our email, and we met in person soon after. We got a good vibe from him right away - positive, energetic, attentive to our pup and us. They've been walking her every week ever since. Eric , the new owner of the business, has definitely made us feel very comfortable and happy with our decision to entrust our labradoodle, whom we adore in a way some may consider irrational, to him. Our dog is a little anxious (and very big, which is a tricky combo) and Eric had multiple visits to warm up to him before he even started actually walking him. Once he did start walking him, he made a point to keep walking him instead of switching Patton to someone else on the team not only because our pup is a little skittish with strangers but because he genuinely likes spending time with him which is something we highly value in a walker. Eric is extremely flexible with our schedule and always here when we need him (which is sometimes very last minute). And, when we asked him to check in on Patton one weekend, he noticed an issue in our apartment (leak-type situation) and sat and waited for over an hour with the dog until he got a hold of the super and us. Billing is always organized and accurate and we trust Eric 100%. Basically, we feel pretty lucky to have found such a great walker and don't worry about the dog at all in Eric's hands. Love these guys. I've been through many walkers, and these are the most solid of the bunch! They send daily pictures that I always look forward to. My dog has the same walker most of the time, but if not, it's still someone that he's familiar with and has met before. You get an invoice and google calendar upfront for each month.
