This was very disappointing, mattress was not cooling like advertised but it got worse when I tried to return, slow responses then they say they will pick it up and donate it to charity, then change their mind and tell me to go find a charity, or that I need to spray paint the mattress, but also add all these caveats where, if done wrong, forfeit the $2000 refund. DO NOT BUY I purchased the Brooklyn Aurora Hybrid (Full/Soft). At first I was quite pleased with the mattress, but after just 6 months the foam started to deteriorate. Fine particles of foam began coming out of the mattress and accumulating on the floor under the bed. The mattress lost much of it's cushion and become hard and uncomfortable. I had to stop using the mattress. Brooklyn Bedding deemed that failure of the foam after just 6 months did NOT qualify for a warranty replacement. read more

So first, I have not received my mattress yet, I will update when I receive it. BUT... My husband and I bought a Stearns & Foster in 2012 from R&S. It has depressed 4.5 inches in 5 years! We called R&S, now Brooklyn Bedding and they had someone come out to measure it. Called me a few days later and said I had a credit. We arrived last night within an hour of closing and Brett was so amazing. Very helpful, VERY patient and extremely kind. I walked out with an even exchange and I think a nicer bed (at least it cost more). He even threw in the "magic" pillow I fell in love with and I used it last night, it IS magic! I purchased a California king from Chuck about 4 years ago. Looking back I can see that he told me everything he needed to sell a bed. He misrepresented the warranty, and delivered a King, claiming it was a California King. When I brought this to his attention after delivery he informed me how long he has been selling mattresses and that he would never do such a thing. I don't have anything against most sales people, in fact I can really appreciate a good sales person. They can make the buying process easier, and be a valuable resource. I also have no respect for a sales person who does and says what ever he or she has to to make a sale, especially if it is not the best thing for the customer. I hope that if you are considering shopping for a mattress here, that you reconsider and shop elsewhere, no matter how long Chuck says he has been doing this. My wife and I fell into the Ikea mattress trap when we purchased our first bed together about 5 years ago. When we finally decided we were done with sleeping on a glorified futon mattress we started looking around for a new mattress. Most stores prices were ridiculous for the mattress sets we liked. My husband and I visited many mattress retailers in the Tempe area to find the best deal, mattress, and guarantee. We were paranoid about buying from anyone who wouldn't replace the mattress or would charge an arm and a leg to do so. We also got pretty tired of the rigamarole of salesmen. Chuck was really patient and informative, letting us lie on mattresses for 15 minutes or more and explaining the benefits of each one. He also said that if we were not happy he could exchange our mattress at no charge (if we wanted a different mattress we'd just pay or be refunded the difference in cost). Then he offered us a really nice deal on the one we liked: the Brooklyn Bedding Bliss latex mattress. We ordered a mattress newly made by the warehouse, and when it showed up last week it was firmer than the one we fell in love with at the store. I called a few days ago and Chuck offered to send us a new mattress at no cost, just like he promised. I decided we wanted the one we picked out in the store instead of another new one, and he agreed that it could be done. It was delivered today by Justin, who is timely, easygoing, and who remembered chatting with my husband when he delivered the first bed. Such a nice guy. I'm happy with the new one and pleased that the exchange was so simple and Chuck kept his word. Bought 2 mattresses from them on Saturday with the promise that they would be delivered Saturday afternoon. They were not delivered due to no internet at the store. The warehouse did not get the order so we were told it would be delivered on Sunday. It was delivered on Sunday I paid for a full and a twin mattress For my grandsons bunk bed. I wad delivered 2 twin beds. Not what I paid for. Now I have to sit and wait for another delivery. I am not a happy customer right now. I am waiting to see if they resolve this issue. I need the mattress now. I needed it yesterday. But that didn't happen. So I talked to my sales man Brandon. Still don't have the correct mattress, says he did the best he could. Just bought a sweet new mattress from R&S. Tim and Brett helped us out and I really liked how down to earth they were. These guys are super nice and professional. They take the time to let you romp around on the mattresses and lay in the positions that are most natural when you are at home without stalking you or being high-pressure, which is unusual. Most mattress stores are extremely expensive, but we got a mattress from them that is usually 4k at Serta for a little over a grand. They have a pretty good amount to choose from and a good selection of prices for just about any budget, so don't worry - you don't have to spend as much as I did. I really value my Z's. Right now you get a free comforter and a couple of really nice pillows with the purchase of a mattress as well as free delivery, so it's pretty darn competitive. This princess has definitely found her pea. When I purchased my first mattress from R&S, I told my family and friends how happy I was with both the product and the customer experience. My, have those days turned sour. I can see now that I was sorely mistaken. I have since called every one of the people that I can remember mentioning my joy to and have given them an update including my horrible current situation. What is my current situation? Well, I'll tell you: I didn't realize this at the time but almost every mattress that they sell are stuffed with a synthetic cotton type material. Now, this is not an uncommon practice, as cotton prices haven risen and most of the modern synthetic cottons are highly versatile EXCEPT that it is highly- I repeat- HIGHLY FLAMABLE. This means that you cannot keep this mattress anyone near a fireplace, as I did. Or leave candles on top of it. Say goodbye to romantic candlelit naps in bed with your significant other. Another issue that I have is that if you happen to have a bed fire, do not use water. I have learned that your warranty excludes any damages caused by water. REPEAT: THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. I have spoken with Chuck, who's been managing the Tempe branch for years about these issues. He agrees that their policy of voiding the warranty based on water damage is a little bit strict and makes for bad business. So where does this leave me? I've made (bought) my bed and now I must sleep in it. read more

Went into Brooklyn bedding to look at a bed I saw online... the sales guy listened to my needs and I ended up finding a bed I like better than the one I originally was interested in. I ended up saving about $600 on the matress I decided to go with. The delivery guys were on time to the minute and set up the matress quickly, and hauled off my old matress. I LOVE my brooklyn bedding matress. I was having major back issues because my older matress was just too soft. Since sleeping on this new matress, I haven't had any back issues! I am going to be very straight forward... I almost passed on Brooklyn Bedding because of their commercial. The little girl saying "It's named after me, so I'm kind of a big deal!" makes her sound spoiled and, to be frank, rude. I really dislike the commercial, and spoiled kids are running rampant in our society. I refused to walk into a Brooklyn Bedding store! So when I bought a sleep number and HATED it. We really shopped around for what we wanted, and I tell you, I was freaking Goldilocks! This bed was too hard, that bed was too soft, you know the story. I finally gave in and just "tried" the bed. It was delivered within a day. R&S Mattress and Brooklyn Bedding is merging- the owners are brothers. So there are other name brand mattresses in the store. But their own line is Brooklyn Bedding. I was going to purchase a pretty high priced Serta (still cheaper than that p.o.s. sleep #), but when I finally rested my body on a B.B. mattress, I was hooked. I love my Brooklyn Bed Empire series. They have a comparable bed to Tuft and Needle which they are known for, but they also have higher quality beds. And I will say, we paid a fraction of the cost of that stupid sleep # and significantly less than we would have paid for the Serta. I will sleep on my new B.B. Mattress for the full 120 days and update my review if I end up hating it. But so far, I have gotten the best sleep of my life and it is 4pm on a Sunday and I have barely left my bed all day. Exception was to eat my porridge because, like I said... Freaking Goldilocks. Also, a bonus, their mattresses are made locally (good for our economy.) And, the more I put the word out there to everyone that will listen about how much I love this bed, I am also hearing of all the community involvement this company is a part of. Donating mattresses to children in need, giving their employees nice Christmas bonuses. It seems like this is a great locally ran business who puts a lot back in their community. So even though Brooklyn may seem like a brat on her commercial (you guys should seriously consider changing that) her dad doesn't seem to be. I was looking for a new Mattress, so what to do read Yelp reviews. All the ones I found on this company were quite good. They have a lot of stores throughout the Valley. Thi location is in Tempe over by Ikea. So I gave it a go. It is located in a shopping center across from Ikea. When you pull in there is a guy swinging a sign around and then a sales guy from another Mattress store pops out and trys to horn Swaggle you in to their shop. So don't be fooled. GO to the R & S Mattress store. It looks very plain when you come inside. Like a warehouse type setting . But, the company has been around for a long time and they have a long warrenty on all their products. 10 years in fact. Chuck was our sales guy. We found the type of bed that we wanted and $1.700.00 later, it was a done deal. We were in no hurry so they delivered it 2 days later. They were very careful when they brought in the Mattress and removed the old one. Yes, they took away the old one as well. It was 10 years old, so we felt we needed a new one. It has been 2 weeks and so far I like the bed a lot. It came with 2 free pillows, which the delivery guys did not have with them. I had to make another visit to Chuck to pick them up. Bottom line is I am happy with it ,price was right, and I would buy another Mattress there. read more

Be prepared to lose a lot of money. We purchased a mattress in April 2018. Worked fine until about November 2019. Husband having back pain and nothing was improving until chiropractor suggested it could be the bed. We went back to the old bEd and his back has been fine. When I lay in his side of the bed, it's depressed. Obviously he weighs more than me. Unfortunately it's passed the refund stage. A driver from Brooklyn Bedding came out and validated that there was a problem. Even wrote out notes on their "store credit" amount. Why would I want another after the first mattress failed? I called Daniel at the at the store who gave me a different story. Said the mattress had only failed a half an inch. I wonder how they came up with that figure. Was the driver 100 pounds? He recommended that I flip the bed or use it in a guest room. I have never been so blinded robbed in my life. Unfortunately it's past the time to dispute with my credit card and all they will offer is an extra $49 to come pick up the mattresss to throw it away. Completely unethical. Be prepared to spend over $1600 in a mattreess that will last you 18 months! read more

After purchasing our mattress with R & S we tried sleeping on it and it was as hard as a rock. We went to exchange with their 30 day guarantee and we're met with flack. The sales person said that we needed to give it more time, that he didn't think he could help us. After arguing our case and not understanding why you would want to take back a longer used mattress, he let us lay on other ones. We were trapped to pick one and did, for $200 more he said. Total now $1600. He also Told us that it is as-is only because they replaced the top cover. We would have never paid that for a not new mattress but we felt under pressure. After a month the mattress had hardly any support. After 3 months you could see our body indentions and we are not heavy people. I am now stuck with the mattress and nobody will buy it. We purchased a new mattress with a great warranty at Macy's for $1400. They also have a 60 day guarantee read more

Dave and Chuck are super sales people, which you would expect to find at the established R&S stores that do high volume. The experience and knowledge at smaller R&S stores left a lot to be desired. Once you leave the realm of main-stream stores (Dillards, Sears, Macy's etc) the mattress industry has to be one of the most deceptive out there. I experienced a number of problems with my transactions. Unfortunately I :"settled" on a $1000 mattress that I don't want after 3 months. 1. R&S names their own products and I believe you will find different names in different stores....at least I did. 2. Their warranty is, as a rule, for 1/2 the timeframe as name products and for 1/2 the quality. For example, Sears will give you a return if a product "sags" by 3/4" or more within 15-20 years. For the same product (if R&S has it), or similar product, R&S will give you a 10 year warranty...but only if it sags 1 1/2" or more 3. Their name product inventory is hit-or-miss. I was sold an iiComfort that was supposed to be one of the "best memory foam deals that came along in quite awhile." I told Scott I had already returned a Costco memory foam because of heat problems. But, he assured me that this was no comparison and the best. I found out that Scott did not know that this specific model which I subsequently researched in-depth, was NOT MEMORY FOAM....and had not been rated for heat yet.. It was ridiculously hot. 4. No problem...Scott exchanged for one of their Brooklyn Bed brands that was $100 less (and he didn't give met he $100 discount he did on the initial transaction....so a $200 hit). I also noted that during the switch, there were no "deals" like there were during the first transaction...nor any "I can give you these for $200 less" discussions. I knew I was being played the sucker, but what do you do? THEY HAVE A NO REFUND POLICY. The second mattress was supposed to be a high-quality latex bed with 3-4" of latex on top of their custom foam....."only found in competitive $2600 mattresses." The Brooklyn Bed Latex mattress weighs about 600 lbs.; feels like your sleeping in lard, is still hot after about 5 hours of sleep and I now have shoulder and hip pain I've never had before. As does my wife. I really feel like I've been taken to the cleaners. This mattress is money down the toilet and will likely be moved to a guest room shortly because it's just too expensive to dump. In the future, I stick with mainstream stores where you can compare product and price. And, perhaps just a plain old $800 inner spring mattress. read more
