I paid off more than $8,000 in Mattress Firm financing through Synchrony Bank, but a later $4.59…read morebalance was reported to the credit bureaus and damaged my credit. My mattress purchase was a little over $8,000. The salesperson, Muhammad, was very nice and made the financing sound easy, convenient, and essentially risk-free. I normally avoid financing and credit cards because I prefer to pay for what I buy, but I went along with the financing. After a few months, my statement showed a balance of slightly more than $5,000, so I wrote a check and paid the balance shown on the statement in full. I thought the account was completely settled. Then a $4.59 balance appeared between billing cycles. That tiny balance was eventually reported to the credit bureaus and damaged my credit, even though I had paid the full balance shown on my statement. FOUR DOLLARS AND FIFTY-NINE CENTS damaged my credit after an $8,000+ purchase. I then spent approximately two hours trying to resolve the issue and ultimately paid the remaining amount just to close the account and put an end to the situation. This is exactly why I normally avoid these financing offers. Muhammad was pleasant and made the financing sound very attractive, but my experience with what happened afterward was completely unacceptable. My warning to anyone shopping at Mattress Firm: do not accept financing simply because it sounds convenient or harmless. Think very carefully before using Synchrony Bank, and continue checking the account even after you believe you have paid it off. A $4.59 balance should never be allowed to damage someone's credit after an $8,000+ purchase has been paid off. I will never use Synchrony Bank again, and this experience has seriously changed how I feel about doing business with Mattress Firm.

Based on my criteria, she accurately and confidently recommended the best model for me w/o hesitation. I submitted both on the same day, a 2 star review of the mattress and a 5 star review of the foundation/frame. The 5 star review showed up online after a day or two but my 2 star review never was posted. I waited another month and tried to submit the review of the mattress again but with 3 stars. Again, it has never been posted online. I also tried with 4 and 5 stars, each time starting the review stating that this was actually a 2 star review, but none of them have ever shown up online. I would be very skeptical of their reviews seeing as mine has never shown up online. The last time a 2 star review was posted of the mattress I purchased was nearly 3 years ago. I have a hard time believing that is true. Their customer service has also gone down the drain. They started using AI in recent years for customer service questions and you never get your questions answered. They just provide a general statement that sometimes doesn't even pertain to your issue. I had to demand to speak/chat with an actual person to get my issue resolved. I've ordered other items from Avocado -- sheets, body melt, pajamas -- and had loved everything and had impeccable customer service when my order was wrong or I had issues with the item. Those days are gone. AI and I'm sure increased prices/inflation has killed what this company did so well. I'm disappointed with what has become of Avocado Green Mattress. I likely won't be purchasing much from them going forward.
