It's been a long time since we visited the brooklin pub. It has really improved since my prior visit. I had the Chili Chicken. Lightly dusted chicken, peppers & onions sautéed in chili sauce. Served over rice or rice noodles with pita bread. My fried had the lunch size special of the Butter Chicken. A mild masala-spiced butter chicken served on a bed of rice with pita bread. I really enjoyed the chili chicken as it was perfectly spiced and the veggies made the dish. My friend enjoyed the creamy butter chicken. We will be back for the traditional chicken wings they are known for. The service was extremely good considering how busy the bar and restaurant was. The meals were served quickly and drinks were brought out fast. The ambiance is classic pub and a large outdoor patio. read more

TLDR - Burger, deep fried pickle and Chicken Parmesan all over cooked/ over fried. Service was very slow. Unusually slow. Felt ignored. (Server could have been in training, she was kind) Ambiance - typical pub. Hard to comment on the ambiance when feeling ignored. **EXTRA CHARGE FOR PARMESAN CHEESE WHEN ORDERING A PASTA DISH** we did not see this on the menu, nor were we told about it. My friend and I were having lunch here on Saturday. As seen above our meals were over cooked and dry. Our server was very kind and interacted with the children very well. We were under the impression that she was a trainee so we expected delays, however, there was an unusually long wait between the server giving us more time with menu and her returning to take out order. We ended up flagging someone else down to get our server. We did the same to get our bill at the end of the meal. At this point we are feeling ignored by the staff and we are disappointed in the meals. I was expecting my bill to be substantial as it was three meals and 5 drinks. I notice on the bill a charge for the Parmesan cheese my daughter had with her pasta. When I pointed this out, our server told us that her bosses told her to charge us one dollar. She then asked me if it was a lot of money. If her goal was to make me feel better it had the opposite effect. We have put up with disappointing food and very high wait times in an almost empty pub. No, one dollar is not a lot of money in a lot of circumstances, however, in this case, that one dollar says, "we want as much as we can get out of you and we are willing to do the bare minimum to get it, and there is nothing you can do about it because you're not going to argue over one dollar are you?" Needless to say we left the pub feeling as though we had been conned out of our money. I do not recommend this pub. read more

Decent atmosphere and selection of food, friendly staff, etc. Wasn't a big fan of witnessing the manager horrendously belittle his staff in plain sight. Can only imagine there's a high turnover rate at this place. Hopefully this was just a one off. read more

A friend and I didn't know where to go for dinner. We drove around, ending up in Brooklin. We were just entering their 'downtown' area when we saw the Brooklin Pub. Neither of us come to this little part of Whitby too often, so why not? It was busy! We sat at the bar while we waited for a table. We only waited about 10min. The staff were friendly and they had an alright beer selection; the usual suspects with a few craft beers and a couple uncommon imports. This is a big place! Each area is sectioned off, making a great place for a large group. It's a sports pub, so you could see a TV from anywhere. There was a large group seated in our section, so getting in and out of that area was a little tight. Not sure how the servers were getting by with arms full of food and drink! Wings were really popular here; I think at least one person at every table was eating them! The menu was large, so our server came back a few times and we weren't ready. I ended up choosing the Goat Cheese & Grilled Veggie Flatbread and my friend had a Gourmet Grilled Cheese on multigrain bread with fries. My flatbread was so good! There were veggies on it that I never would have put on a flatbread, like carrot and cucumber. The balsamic made the flavours really pop! I'd get that again! My friend's grilled cheese was so stuffed with tomato, bacon, marble and swiss cheese she couldn't finish it. The fries were ok, nothing special. Service was great. She was bubbly and sweet. This place has a small town feel and everyone there was there to have a good time, good food and watch a good game. read more

So disappointed. ... For a brand new pub interior is nice. Very friendly staff, well laid out and a TV in sight from every angle. Food is a bit of a let down... I have gone back twice to do a review. First visit we had the entire app menu and it was mediocre at best. The apps are lacking presentation and flavor. The deep fried pickles were bland as were all the apps. Bruschetta was a small piece of bread with a few tomatoes on it, not worth the 9.00$ Second visit was a lunch visit and the food was even less enjoyable. Beef dip was like a salt sandwhich, never mind the "Au jus" which tasted like brown salty water with unidentifiable white bits in it. The curry flat bread wasn't bad but lacked more ingredients on a huge piece of bread. Stay away from the dips! It's like margarine with dill in it!! read more

We've been here 3 times in the last 3 months and I have to say it's getting worse. We attended a get together with the band playing there Saturday September 11th we arrived an seated by 6:35pm and waited approximately 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. After placing our order we waited another 20 minutes before receiving our drinks. Now the wait to place our food order was another 15 minutes only after we gestured to be served . When food came to table they had no idea of who ordered what, giving plates to the wrong people. Food wasn't anything to call home about. Eg. Ordered wings that were so dried out and cold like they had been precooked and just sat there. How do you ruin wings , unbelievable poor service. Now to get the next drink was even worse when no one came around unless hailed down. Dirty dishes left on table for quite awhile after finishing. Could go on but this is enough, will never go back and will not suggest this place to others. read more

I like the Brooklin Pub and it is a nice go-to for anyone in the area. While it does lack the exclusivity or vibrance of a bar downtown, it does offer a nice clean place with friendly staff where you can have a few drinks and have a good time in relative peace. The interior is nice, and the pub has plenty of TV's. The staff will even change the channel of a certain TV if you ask nicely. Everything is clean and modern looking, and you don't need to worry about anything being dirty or sketchy. The food is decent. This isn't a Michelin star restaurant and it does not pretend to be. I have tried a few things on the menu and have not been disappointed but nor have I been wowed. The Brooklin Pub does exactly what it was designed to do, and I love it. read more

Good atmosphere and nice dining area. However service was not what you would expect when going out for dinner. Right from when my friends and I walked in we did not feel welcomed. We were put in a table isolated from everyone else and forgot about essentially. After being sat down we waited 20 minutes and we're not served so we had to move from our table at the back to ask for our order to be taken, it wasn't busy the server just seemed to be focused on the people at the bar. I understand people have bad days but as someone who works in customer service you have to pretend like you are happy with customers to keep them happy. The food made up for the service. It was amazing, and it came very quickly. I would go again, hopefully with more enthusiasm from the staff next time. read more

Had a wonderful lunch on Friday afternoon. Two of us ordered burgers and one of us had the BLTC wrap. The burgers were huge and tasty, the garnishings fresh, and the french fries were piping hot. The BLTC wrap was very enjoyable and very filling. We will definitely be going back! read more

I had visited the Brookline pub yesterday and I have to say that it was a great experience. The interior is very well done, it incorporates both the pub and casual dining atmosphere. A lot of TV around the restaurant. The waitress who served us was very nice and recommended the Irish nachos as an appetizer and it was great!! For the main course I ordered the pulled pork on flat bread and it was very good, a large portion. My husband ordered the rib and wings and he enjoyed them, the ribs were very tender and delicious. We didn't have much room for dessert but the menu did look very tempting. I would definitely go back again!! read more

I have been too Brooklin Pub about a dozen times since it opened a few years ago. The prices are decent and the food top notch. The only reason why i am contemplating going somehwere else is one particular waitress whom i always seem to get. This red haired waitress named "Elaine" on my bill might be the crabbiest waitress i have had in 20 years. I have had the misfortune of having her serve my party 3 or 4 times now and we leave feeling the exact same way everytime. Everything is a massive inconvenience for her. She should not be working a service job. She seems to work mostly in the daytime and i can't believe she keeps her job. read more

Food brutally presented and tasted like cardboard. Meal was also incorrect. Server was rude and unprofessional. The only reason I'm giving this a 2 star is because of the nice interior and amount of beers on tap. The tables and chairs were a bit crowded together; I had waitresses rubbing against the back of my chair all meal. I asked the waitress if the burgers were hand-made and she said yes. The burger was definitely not fresh or hand-made (the patty reminded me of the President's Choice frozen burger patties from Superstore). It cost over $60 for an appetizer, nachos, a burger, and a kids burger. I'll definitely go to Shoeless Joe's or Baldwin Street Burger next time I have a Burger craving. read more

Huge disappointment!!!!! My husband and I were looking forward to a new place to eat in Brooklin. The service was ok but the food was a huge disappointment. I'm sure it showed on my face when we received our meals! I was also disappointed at the "sports bar" atmosphere and the numerous TV's mounted all over the restaurant. We enjoyed (not) the "live" entertainment of loud cheering and clapping due to a hockey game being on the TV's. A word of WARNING............think twice before you sit at the bar beneath the upper level. We were sitting at a table on the upper level against the railing and noticed that if something (silverware, salt/pepper/menu) were to slide/knock off the table, it would be hitting the individual below. (not good if it happened to be a knife)!!!!! We definitely will NOT be returning. read more

Been here multiple times since they opened and loved their food. Was there tonight with my husband and son and will not be returning. I ordered the lasagna and got no noodles instead a bowl full of meat and cheese. My husband ordered chicken souvlaki which we have always ordered wth no issues and tonight it was just disgusting the rice smelt and tasted like cigarettes like someone blew their smoke on the food so gross we are not smokers nor know anyone who does smoke. We are so very upset with the food service tonight and have such a bad taste in our mouths that we can't go back. read more

Been here a few times, its just ok in my opinion. Ive never had great service. When I go, my family or friends are waiting for a while before someone comes and takes our orders. The chicken caesar wrap is great! I have also ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and was not impressed. The meal was not filling, and the meat did not seem to be fresh either. It's OK, buy nothing special. I imagine it will give Shoeless Joe's a run, for a while, but their food is better. Food presentation very ordinary. Service was quick and pleasant. If it I could choose 3.5 stars than I would. Place is clean and great casual atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and service was great. We ordered the 9 spice Sri Lankan wings, curry fries and Pad Thai. Wings were very good although it is a dry rub and not spicy hot which I was not expecting. The curry fries didn't have much depth but were still enjoyable. The Pad Thai was definitely not made with traditional flavours, instead it was made with a black bean sauce - it was ok. Very Disappointing lunch. Had the "Cajun grilled chicken wrap" with soup. The wrap tasted mostly like warm iceberg lettuce. I'm really not sure how they can call it Cajun - the sauce tasted like mayonnaise with a drop a barbecue sauce in it. Soup was a jumbled mess of beans, ground beef and bacon - blecch. My wife's "Greek salad" had canned black olives in it, and came out with no dressing on it. Not a great first impression at all. This is a decent place because it's one of like two bars in Brooklyn to hang out. Food is pretty good from what I have tried and drink prices are reasonable. It's clean here and the bar is clean too. Brooklin Pub is a huge disappointment. It is in a nice location but the food is disgusting. This is our second and last visit here. We waited over 45minutes for a plate of nachos with beef and when we got it the beef was disgusting. Its like it came out of a can. It gives Shoeless Joes some competition but Shoeless Joes is 100% better. We will never go back to Brooklin Pub and would not recommend going there. read more

Wow...what a HUGE disappointment! I just had my third visit a week ago and unfortunately, it will be my last. Food is mediocre at best though the service was fine. I ordered 2lbs of wings the last time I was there and I have to say that Shoeless Joe's has better wings. They were small and overcooked. The worst part is that I sat with my family on the brand new patio only to discover that we had smokers at the table next to us. GROSS!!! I asked the server about this as I thought it was illegal in Ontario even on patios but she advised me that as long as there isn't a roof, you can have a smoking patio. So.......not only is the food nothing to write home about, you also can't enjoy the patio with the cigarette smoke arond you. Too bad as I was looking forward to htis place opening. Oh well, Corrado's, 1847 and the Pour House will get my business. Interesting that they all have patios but I have never seen anyone smoking on them. read more
