Second time here and we enjoyed our stay again. The king bed is huge and our room was clean. If you are expecting a 5 start luxury hotel this is not it but it is cute and it has personality. The diner is nice and the bar had great music and friendly bartenders. I do wish one day someone will re do the whole brook room and pool area. So much history in this hotel, I'd love to see a comeback! I'm sure we will be back. I'm

Honestly this lodge is about you get what you pay for. We ended up here because they allow dogs and it's cheap. They have newer furniture, nice TVs, and typical motel carpet. Wasn't the cleanest but could have been dirtier. Patio needs a nice good wipe down, walls could use a wipe down, shower heads didn't work well, fridge didn't work at all and microwave was so rusted we didn't want to use it because it seemed to be a fire hazard. Overall grounds needs a good clean. Cigarette butts and random stuff all over outside. Staff was nice, location in the trees was beautiful, and it was super quiet. Would I stay here again? Probably because they allow dogs and it's cheap. I did let the staff know about the microwave and he said they would get it taken care of.

We stayed here for the Witches Ball for Halloween. What a treasure. The entire experience was a treat! The staff is friendly and helpful. Rose Bud answered all of our questions and made some great suggestions for the stay. The rooms are newly remodeled. They are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable and made for a restful nights sleep. As a bonus, the diner served midnight pancakes at the end of the night for the event. They were fabulous!

Broken doors and dirty towels less than 30 seconds on entering

We call the front desk right away. Talk to the "manager" a short man that checked us in . Told him about the door and towels. Took forever to get the new towels and god knows what else they didn't clean in the room. Asked for another room and they couldn't do it. Asked for someone to fix the door so I can shit with the door closed. I was denied. The short manager in the phone when asked if we can then get a discount on the room said yes to speak with him in the morning. Morning checkout came and no discount. Was told since they supplied new towels and that they were going to eventually fix the door so there was nothing g to discount. I could not believe it. We have been going to brookdale for years and this will be our last time. That shirt little man is a fucking joke and should be fired.

Came for the spooky and did not disappoint. So grateful to finally found some time to check out this property. The grounds were beautiful surrounded by giant trees and a babbling brook. Front desk staff was gracious and were very kind and helpful. The room was super clean and the beds were very comfortable, I slept like a rock. The rooms all had roomy balconies, coffee maker, microwaves, and mini fridge. Unfortunately it was off season so there wasn't any dining onsite but there was a general store with snacks and drinks open until 9. ( Boulder Creek and Ben Lemond are close by with adorable dining option's.) I would love to come back when the pool and the brook room are open again. I really hope the owner is able to referb it to its former glory. It's really a special and unique property and It would be awful to loose a slice of history. And if you forget a cork screw, the nice lady in the general store is happy to help

I had a wonderful stay here. The grounds are spacious and beautiful. The guy at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. The room had a cute patio with a beautiful view. Room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!!

What is this?!? Get this fixed!

People are living in it. That's our theory. The website was clearly lying! Guy at the counter said restaurant was closed for 20 yrs! The website clearly said it had a restaurant! A review did say that it was probably closed 'cause it was off-season. But still. Band was too loud at 10pm! Location was good tho. Boulder Creek was a good li'l town. Had some of the best Penne Alfredo I'd ever had (See my aroma restaurant review)! Weird stains on the ceiling and floor insanely sticky because the shower leaks so much water! Fyi aroma restaurant was in Ben Lomond.

Last minute trip to get our dogs out of the city for the 4th of July. Definitely interested in staying here again, the room was very very spacious, clean and modern. Wish there was more open to explore. The bar they have was closed, the restaurant they have was closed, the whole other building was closed off too. I didn't realize how big the place was and what they all had there until I arrived and looked it up online. There is so much that could be seen but everything was closed except for the small check in office. Pet friendly place, they do charge $50 a dog. Many pet owners were here to get away as well. Probably will be back again next year and hopefully they have a little more open especially since they had so many guests with their pets here.

Cool spot when busy. They had a great pool tournament but then they stopped it on a dime. Mary the bartender is fantastic. All smiles.

Sitah and Dale (the owners) and their staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their affable mien, as well as their superb culinary skills, made our stay memorable and deeply satisfying. We chose the East Room. It is lovingly decorated, spacious, and well-furnished. The queen size bed, desks, sofa, mini-fridge, and heater that warms up the toilet seat provide just about all of the creature comforts one needs. The room also has a fire stove to delight the pyromaniacs and a huge, deep stone soaker tub that can easily accommodate two sumo wrestlers (or half a dozen jockeys). A couple of things to note: (1) There's no cell phone reception (at least not T-Mobile or Sprint). But there is free WiFi. (2) While the windows and skylights may infuse the room with a bright and cheery feel, they may make it hard for you to sleep in late. So don't forget to pack your sleep mask.

I am so delighted to now say that Sitah and Dale made the most special day of my life a total dream. After searching up and down the California coast for a place to get married that felt "right", I was feeling pretty disheartened and was ready to throw in the towel. But, on a whim, we decided to take a trek to Bonny Doon on our way to another venue location and I happened upon the Redwood Croft for a potential place for out of town guests to stay. And wouldn't you know it, they mentioned they host events on their website! My now husband and I took a day and drove down the coast from San Mateo and stopped in to chat with Sitah about her home. The place was (is!) stunning and from the moment we set foot on the grounds, we knew it was the perfect place to get married. Sitah and Dale charge a reasonable amount for the 2 night rental of their whole B&B, plus having nearly 100 people on-site for a wedding! It was so magical to spend the night there before the wedding, then to wake up and eat Sitah's homemade blueberry pancakes (which she made a batch gluten free for me! So amazing!) and spend the rest of the day primping and relaxing before we said "I do!" on their beautiful back lawn and garden. They made everything go so smoothly and they opened their home to my family for the weekend -- it made the wedding weekend just sublime. Before we had our big day, the hub and I spent an impromptu overnighter at the Croft, just to get a feel for it. Our night was peaceful (we stayed in the East Room) and I can't wait to go back now and spend special weekends and anniversaries there. Thank you, Sitah and Dale, for making our day a true piece of romance. Our memories will be sweet and our life will be grand and you had a hand in making that come true for us!

Pull out couch if needed. A sofa. A fridge with a freezer. A microwave. A small toaster oven. A dining table set for two. A small 42 inch TV. Wifi. And a full size bathroom with a stand up shower with good water pressure. I chose this lodge because it's super dog friendly and family friendly. The only request is that you keep your dog on leash at all times while outdoors. The property has a mix of lodges and RVs to chose from. It has two coffee stations with filtered water stations at the front office and a nice big river with crystal clear water that flows through the back of the property with some areas deeper than others that can be used as a swimming hole/quick dip. Also, theres a few ducks and geese rescued from the animal shelter that lives down the river and are visable from the property. Despite temperatures rising to the 90's F at peak day, my room stayed 68F because of the nice big redwood trees that shaded that room. It has 2 big windows towards the front of the room and 1 window in the bathroom. It was equipped with AC if needed. The property also had communal propane grills to use for cooking and a propane cook top, stove to use. They are limited in plates, utensils and plates, so make sure to pack your own picnic utensils! I also packed my own spices, food, cooking tools, plates and utensils etc as if i was going camping. The staff members are all super friendly and helpful. I can't tell you the number of times i hear the host pick up his cellphone because a visitor is lost. They are currently making major improvements to all the lodges. Im looking forward to coming back post renovations.

Parking can be limited, particularly during busy times, and still is expensive to park overnight. Rooms are spacious and relatively modern. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. Poor Service, Hidden Fees, and a $300 Smoking Fee Charged to Non-Smokers…read more My stay was extremely disappointing and reflects a breakdown in basic service standards and billing practices. During the stay, there were no towels available at the pool, daily room cleaning was not provided, parking transactions included additional service fees, and coffee from the lobby/breakfast area carried a $5 charge. These issues were inconvenient, but the primary concern arose after checkout. After departure, I was charged a $300 smoking fee based solely on an air quality and humidity detector reading. I do not smoke. During the timeframe in question, I was using a small water-based clothing steamer to remove wrinkles from clothing after travel. The charge was not disclosed at checkout, and no physical evidence of smoking was provided. Hotel staff acknowledged that these types of sensors can be triggered by factors unrelated to smoking. Despite this, no independent review or investigation was conducted, and no additional evidence beyond the detector reading was provided. I was directed to dispute the charge through my credit card issuer. I escalated the matter to Hilton corporate customer service, but the case was redirected back to the same property without independent review. The General Manager did not respond to multiple outreach attempts, including email and a request for a callback. After researching, I found similar complaints from other guests regarding smoking fee disputes at this property, raising concerns about how these charges are determined and reviewed, and the reliability of the technology being used. I support non-smoking policies; however, issuing significant charges based solely on a sensor reading without supporting evidence or meaningful review is not acceptable. This experience has significantly impacted my confidence in both this property and the consistency of issue resolution within the Hilton brand. I would still welcome a fair review of this charge and a good-faith effort to resolve the matter appropriately.
