Brook Green was a perfect location for our visit to London. It's about a 10-min walk from the Hammersmith tube stop, which gets you into central London in 10-15 mins. Breakfast was included in our stay, and was phenomenal! They do a continental bar and hot food is made to order, which was so much better than serving yourself lukewarm generic stuff from a buffet line. We also had dinner there our first night and the food was wonderful. I would recommend going there for dinner even if you're not a hotel guest. Check-in/check-out was easy, and all the staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms are well-appointed with modern upgrades, coffee & tea station, and a/c. Location is great since it's outside of the city center, but easy enough to get the tube anywhere you need to go. #1 drawback was no lift/elevator. This property is not ADA accessible in any way, and it wasn't obvious when I booked it. We were on the 2nd floor of rooms, which, by US standards, is the 3rd floor, and there was an additional floor above us - couldn't imagine lugging myself and my luggage all the way up there. Also, the mattresses were a bit stiff with no cush layer or anything... felt like a very cheap mattress dressed up with nice bedding and pillows. The bathroom was gorgeous & modern, but the water didn't get very hot. Because the hotel is on the corner of a relatively busy road, even with the windows closed there is a lot of traffic noise outside - ambulances, trucks, motorcycles, etc, and on one or two nights there was music in the downstairs bar until midnight, which was bothersome since we had to get up early the next morning. read more

Brook Green is a hotel in West London, with a pub on the ground floor. This review is solely for the pub. We came to Brook Green as a party of 6, to check out the burger challenge. Yes, I know that such gluttony is a sin, a western scar upon the starving world, and should be abhorred by those of us with a moral compass. I, however, possess no such a thing, and the idea of a multi-layered burger struck me as something I should try out at least once in my life. Actually that's a lie - I had no intention of attempting the challenge. It was only when I saw the large chalkboard hung up with the names of those who have completed the challenge in under 15 minutes that I thought 'What the hell, Why not..?" and joined my friends in the attempt. The challenge is a huge burger with 3 thick beef patties, and lots of cheese/veg layers, a bucket of chips, a pot of coleslaw and a basket of batter-fried gherkins. Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking either. When the boards arrived with our challenge layeth upon them, I immediately figured I wasn't even going to attempt trying this challenge. Primarily because I have little desire to make myself ill. However, if you are going to try this challenge, I'd advise against drinking any pints of beer - the carbonated drinks will just hold you back! Oh, and the gherkins are ridiculously greasy. It was good fun though - the food was surprisingly tasty. For some reason, I thought it'd be tasteless and mass produced gunk, but the ingredients were of good quality and made for a good meal when enjoyed at a normal pace. The pub itself is a great space - the high ceilings and well stocked bar made this a nice hangout on a weekend afternoon with friends. If you're there to try the burger challenge, then go prepared, and have a good strategy - you'll need it! read more

This review is only for the pub on the ground floor. Been here many times for drinks but never really had food until last Sunday. We were served by a very nice lady who was definitely one of the best I've ever seen. She was really nice at all times. The food is amazing. We ordered the 3 meat roast that comes with chicken, pork belly and beef. Everything was amazing and I can't express how much I loved it. The dessert was brownie with vanilla ice cream that was also very good. Totally recommended. Will come back here many times for sure. read more

This is a haven when wondering around Hammersmith late at night and thirsty. However your thirst needs to be of the right kind or this is not the place to still it. The Brook Green Pub has a great selection of wine and beer. It is a spacious but yet very much cosy. It is nicely decorated with comfy chairs and sofas and a welcoming atmosphere. Perhaps even more so on Sundays when they offer several type of roasts and goose fat yorkies. However if you are, much like moi, into cocktails or in a cocktail mood then this is really not the place. Or at least according to the bartender who told our group they did not have or really served any. To me that answer sounds very strange: They can't make a screwdriver, Highball or Gin and tonic?! It's not like we were asking for daiquiris, Blue Hawaiian or Mojitos! To me the answer provided was just an indicator of them being lazy or inattentive. read more

I quite like this place, quiet, efficient and the food is good. I come here quite alot for roast dinners, I have to say, their sides change every single time I go and actually, this keeps the place interesting and reflects seasonal produce. The meat is of good quality and I like the gravy with its obvious herbs. The food always comes out in the expected time and piping hot. I am always happy to eat here. They used to do a mixed road, this wasn't available on the last visit though. They have an interesting dining/pub area with a mixture of chairs and an OK outside for summer times. I can understand the previous review abut the service not being overly friendly but actually, in an order from the bar establishment, this doesn't offer much of a problem to me and they always accommodate any requests I have. I think this place is a good option in the area and I will continue to go back for my roast dinner fix! read more

Found myself in the arse end of West London, wandering around, not sure where I was supposed to be. I knew I was heading to a 'hotel' to see my friend's show in the theatre that was below it. That's it. Descriptions were turned on their head. Not really a hotel at all, actually a pub. Not really a theatre at all either, more a basement with a bar. Buuuuttt.... good times were had! The pub is big and spacious, modern and had a cheeky little fun-times vibe to it. Right up my street. We grabbed some drinks from the bar and headed downstairs for the show. I wont bore you with how bloody good my friend was, but the space itself is cute and worked perfectly. Not more than 40 of us in there. More drinks upstair afterwards - friendly bar staff, chilled out vibe and a good way to see in the weekend. read more

A quiet and bright pub near Hammersmith station for a Sunday roast lunch. Large and generous portions of juicy meat, simple trimmings of broccoli, parsnips and a few carrots covered in red wine jus. Would I make a special trek here for the Sunday roast though? No I probably wouldn't, compounded by the miserable looking staff who couldn't put our orders through together because we were paying separately. read more

The Brook Green Hotel is a great spot for a drink or two in the evening in opulent surroundings. The décor is lovely: in the public bar upstairs there are big wooden tables, squishy sofas, and blue and white chandeliers, while the garden area is pleasantly leafy and decked out with fairy lights. It makes a spacious change from a dark, dingy pub. I spent New Year 2008-09 here with some friends and had a wonderful time; tickets included a reasonably good buffet dinner, and there was great music to enjoy and the local swing dance class members to watch in the downstairs bar, which is cosy and low-ceilinged. I believe it can be booked for private functions. The bar is pretty expensive, but they sell a range of interesting ales (including a banana bread beer). The menu is a mixture of classic pub fare such as pies and sausages, and pasta, risotto, &c., starting from around £7 for a main course. They also serve a decent cup of coffee, but I would avoid the hot chocolate which is malty but slightly weak. They have live music on Thursday nights and occasionally run a themed evening. read more

I didn't know this place before it got refurbished, but walked past it loads of times and thought it looked inviting. Perfectly adequate place to meet someone for a beer and then go on somewhere else. Food wasn't all that amazing and a little overpriced. On the plus side does have a small beer garden if weather's nice. Maybe 3 stars is a bit generous - I'd maybe go for a straight middle of the road of 2.5 given the option. Plenty of other places in the vicinity that are better. read more

Oh I'll have to go double or quits on what yer mon above me said .... I got a freebie place at a conference a few weeks back and wanted a recession friendly place to park my hairy nether regions for a few nights - much searching later I came across this place that seemed like a bizarre hybrid of the Rovers Return/Woolpack meets one of those out of the way neuveux hotels in eastern Europe that is trying very hard (and succeeding!). I don't know London at all well so trusted a hastily downloaded tube-map from the appstore to guide me in - I was getting a tad nervous with the dimly lit street and ever present roadworks but there at the end of the green was, the Brook Green! I can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff - they knocked spots off the surly tweeps that occupied the position of power behind the desk at the conference centre ("will sir be staying?" ... "eh no! not at your prices ... now where's the free conference?"). The smiles were friendly and genuine, not forced (did I mention the tweeps at the conference centre?). My room was at the top of a knobled up staircase and was a very pleasant surprise, I had expected a cramped fleabag of a thing for the price I paid and was genuinely impressed. The food was substantial and very well cooked - nothing fancy mind, cos I'm a simple lad, but very enjoyable (oh and they did stack it on .. one of those rare occasions I left something behind). My top tip for staying at the Brook is to close the bloody window! ... I thought mine was shut and it seemed to be but it wasn't so it was a tad noisier than it should have been! Oh, tweep central? ... that would be Novotel London West, I'll vent my spleen on that in a different review! read more

We used to come here to watch rugby games until they decided to refurbish the entire bar and seating area. Okay, the place could have done with a bit of spring cleaning. But that doesn't justify pretending to be something you're not and charging way too much for drinks and food now that it looks a bit more inviting to the general public read more
