Bronx Pizza is a small yet inviting pizza shop located in North Park, very good spot. Pros: the pizza here is New York style, so it's very thin, but also very tasty. They sell by the slice or you get a full pie that you can eat there or take it to go. They have a lot different options for toppings, and the most common that you will see by slice would be pepperoni, cheese, meat, lovers, spinach and ricotta, and a bunch of others. I ordered the tomato and basil slice, the Whitestone, spinach, and the meat lovers, all were very good and tasty. My girlfriend ordered the jalapeño and pepperoni, which was also very tasty. There was red pepper, oregano, and I believe garlic powder at the tables that you could sit inside which was very spacious once he actually got inside and passed the counter to order. I got the two slice plus drink deal which is nine dollars which I believe is the best price if you're not getting a full pie. They have a bathroom in there. That's all gender and they have a lot of seating inside that is very New York inspired. Cons: note that this is cash only, there are no ways to pay with credit card debit card or anything else. There is ATM inside in the case you don't have cash on you which is nice to have. There's also very limited parking around the area and you'd have to do street parking or walk there. There's no isolated parking lot specifically for this place. Verdict: is a solid pizza spot and I would come back here again and again for any kind of New York style pizza. The price is good and the taste is phenomenal!

Make sure to bring CASH! What a deal to get 2 slices and a can of soda for $9! There was no wait. You choose the slices of pizza you want that is available in the case and they will heat up the pizza for you! Great customer service. I called in advance to see if there were tables available for a large party. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area is in the shade. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite! Parking was harder to find. There are some spots by the restaurant, meter parking, and paid parking lots.

FINALLY stopped in to grab some pizza after having Bronx on my list of spots to eat at for years! Absolutely delicious. Definitely a little hole in the wall spot and cash only, but the pizza was fantastic. Perfectly crispy with lots of topping options. I love that they do pizza by the slice here.

Hole in the wall spot that delivers exactly what it promises, authentic New York style thin crust pizza done right. As a pizza lover, truly enjoyed it. The Whitestone and pesto slices are standouts and worth coming back for. The $9 combo for two slices and a drink is an unbeatable value, especially for the quality you're getting. Staff is friendly and keeps things moving. If you're testing whether a pizza spot is legit, this one passes.

As an east coaster who relocated to SD almost ten years ago, my goal has consistently been to find pizza, bagels, & egg sandwiches like they make at home or as close to it as possible. To this day, I'm still at a loss regarding the bagels & egg sandwiches as nothing has really come close (honorable mention: Pop-Up Bagels), but the legit closest I've come to having NY Style pizza in SD is absolutely Bronx Pizza! Bronx has been around since 1997 & they're coming up on their 30th Anniversary! That's quite a milestone. During the time I've lived in SD, I've come here a handful of times & it is always consistently simple, fresh, & tasty. You can buy individual slices or whole pies, but just make sure you bring cash. Services is fast & friendly, no-nonsense, but efficient. These guys know what they are doing. Bronx has two main dining areas & a couple of tables in the front. You bus your own tables, and tables are first come first serve. Street parking only. The decor has not been changed, probably since they opened, but it's giving "pizza joint that has been around for awhile & focuses on pizza and not trends or frivolous things" - that's good in my book. The vintage pictures of boxers including Ali, Tyson & more are pretty cool. Verdict: if you like pizza, come here! It is affordable & tasty.

    Porko , Pepperoni

Porko ($4) - This slice transported me to New York City. It had the classic crispy thin crust that you could fold and enjoy. I'd recommend this slice if you want a variety of meat as it has pepperoni, meatball, and sausage. Pepperoni ($4) - I thoroughly enjoyed this slice, too. Whitestone ($4) - My husband ordered this and it was surprisingly my favorite slice! It was by far the most flavorful because of the ricotta and garlic. Highly, highly recommend this popular SD pizza spot!

Been coming here for 30 years and really enjoy this pizzeria. All different types of slices. No POS system so ya gotta have cash. I think Dave from One Bite should review this pizza. Gotta get the $9 special it's a total bargain. Porko is my fav. But the Cheese and others are all great! Whenever I'm in SD I stop here and pickup slices.

Delicious thin crusted pizza in Hillcrest. We were able to easily get street parking on a weekday. Cash only, ATM inside. Plenty of seating indoors. We tried the pesto, pepperoni, and the porko slices. The pizza tasted fresh and they also heat up the slices for you (we ate there). My favorite was the pesto and there is a generous amount on top. Would happily come back and grab a quick slice!!

Overall a very solid slice for the price. We got a pepperoni slice, a Whitestone slice, and a pesto slice. Out of the three, I liked the pepperoni the most, it had the best balance of flavor and texture. The pepperonis were solid, and sauce the cheese ratio were good. However, I felt the sauce was a little lacking in flavor and the bottom of the very floppy and didn't hold up very well even though I ate it within 5 mins of getting it. The Whitestone pizza is a solid choice, but it is very ricotta heavy so it might not be a great choice for people who don't love it. I enjoyed the texture a lot on this one though, nice and crispy bottom and good crust flavor. The pesto was probably my least favorite. A little overly salty taste. Pesto wasn't super flavorful. I probably wouldn't get that one again. Definitely worth grabbing a slice or two from Bronx pizza if you're in the area or want some very reasonably priced slices. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    Combo Pizza by the Slice

Haven't been here for *years,* glad to see it's still standing strong. It felt a little loud and chaotic though, guess that's the vibe. I didn't look too closely at the menu since there was a line forming behind me. Although the pesto pizza looked amazing, I told the guy 1 Combo Pizza Slice. I think they had a deal for 2 slices and a drink-- my friends said it was pretty reasonable price. Next time I'd get that, but I was feeling overwhelmed so I insisted on just one slice. Combo- it had sausage and pepperoni! I love how thin the pizza was. It was still able to hold its shape when being held and it wasn't overly oily at all. The sausage was good, I love when there's fennel in it. The crust was also good. I think they mastered reheating the pizza because it was hot, but not burnt. This is a CASH ONLY spot, but they do have atm in the back seating area if you do need to get some cash out. There's two tables in the main ordering area, 4-8 in the middle section, and even more in the back. In addition, on the tables they have: oregano herb, garlic seasoning, crushed red pepper, and parm available.

This is a great place if you're craving a quick, no-frills pizza place! Parking wasn't great, but we found street parking pretty easily and there's actually plenty of seating inside. There's a nice casual ambiance! This is a cash only, quick service establishment. We ordered the Whitestone and the Porko, portion sizes are huge. The Whitestone had that creamy ricotta + garlic combo that's super savory and satisfying, while the Porko was loaded with pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs. Great bang for you buck, can't wait to come again!

This place is the bomb. Centrally located in Hillcrest area. They have great NY style pizza sold by the slice or the whole pie. Quite a few choices for veggies and meat eaters by the slice. If not, you can always have it made your way with a whole pie. Very reasonable priced, especially nowadays with prices being so high. 2 slices and a drink for $9.00. You can't beat that. Plenty of seating space. No alcohol, No credit cards. ONLY CASH. Good thing is they have an ATM on-site. I can eat here regularly and never get tired.

Bronx is AMAAAAZING! The crust, the sauce, the cheese...*insert tears of goodness here* So I've eaten lots of pizza in my lifetime. I've had enough pizza to judge that Bronx is one of the top contenders in SD in terms of NY pizza. They got all the elements down: foldable slices, the cheese that goes harmoniously with the marinara is then slathered on top and ever so shimmers with glory, and the crust is ever so crispy...airy...and amazing. When I picked up my slices for the first time, I inhaled all that cheesy goodness and couldn't wait to sit down at the table to scarf it all down. My first stop was a dine-in, and just a reminder that they take cash only! They have lots of tables out in the back. Pizza took a while to get warmed up when it's busy. I highly, highly recommend trying Bronx on your day off. They won't disappoint.

Is your (new) Italian sausage permanent of temporary. My sausage tastes so bad of freezer burn I had to take it all off to enjoy. Please bring back the OG sausage?! 🙏🏼

If you have a problem with your pizza order call the restaurant they'll make it right. I personally don't like the sausage, but I'm also a picky eater

I am sorry to ask but I am Siciliano and cannot handle wet dough pizza since we use Focaccia bread down there - does Bronx style include the soft center or a wet part or are your pies cooked until the crust is firm?…

Don, as a former NYr they don't have Sicilian, just the best Neapolitan pies with great thin crust. Also Calzones. Voted top 20 pizzerias in the US!!

Are slices available every day of the week now?

    Yes, every single day

    Is it cash only?

Yes it's cash only, they do have an ATM on premises..

    Gluten free options?

    No but it tastes amazing

    Is Dine-in back?

No, take away is here to stay

Do they offer any delivery service. Not on door dash?

Sorry no delivery, come pick it up, we’ll have it ready when you get here😃

How long does it typically take for them to make one pie for takeout?

About 20 minutes. Call ahead and order so you don't have to wait.

Have they started up dine in again yet? Or selling by the slice?

Selling slices now, but not open yet… opening soon!

    Do you deliver to 91913?

They don't deliver ANYWHERE. Go pick it up yourself.

    Is your restaurant dog friendly?

Never seen a dog inside but not sure. Been there many many times

Do they do deep dish pizza?

Negative! Bronx = NY, deep dish is Chicago style! ;-) Have a nice day.

When you order a whole pie will they do a half-half if you request? E.x. Half pepperoni half cheese

Absolutely! They've done this for us in the past

Do they truly use water from NY?

It’s not heavy or hard to ship because they bring it in dehydrated.

The second impression was also made in the parking lot. It smells amazing! Moving inside, the first thing you see is a decent sized Italian Market with a lot of products and to go items. We looked around after dining and there are a lot of things you can't find in your typical grocery store. Our party of four was seated quickly and we were greeted by Lisa almost immediately. She was fast, friendly, attentive, and always nearby when needed. The dining room has a lot of character. And if you like Chianti bottles, you're in for a treat. Originally, we were thinking pizza, but ultimately, we each ordered our own entrees. Our group tried the ravioli, the meatball sandwich, the Shrimp Filippi, and I had the lasagna. I've been disappointed by lasagna at other places. Sometimes the portion is underwhelming, or it's cold in the middle. That is not the case at Filippi's! My portion was huge, piping hot, and delicious. I ate every bite. Did I mention how quickly our food arrived at the table. It was scary fast considering how good the food is. Also, they have the best garlic bread, so splurge and get some. Filippi's has been around for a long time for good reason. It's the next best thing to homemade. Thanks for a great meal! Next, we got a glass of prosecco. I told the waiter that I only like wine that tastes much more sweet then bitter or strong and he made a perfect suggestion along with giving us a sampler of 3 different wines which was so generous. I got to try them all and pick the one I liked the most, but even the samples were a generous size. For main course I got one of the current options for the cheese wheel pasta they make in front of you in cacio e pepe and my husband got the formaggi pizza with truffle mushrooms. My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. The cream was so light and fluffy that we had to get another one to bring home and eat tomorrow night! I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.

It was absolutely wonderful. I would get it again. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful and the employees we came in contact with were great as well. We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant. A solid recommendation on my part.

My child had the spaghetti and meat balls (good portion), I had the lasagna (so good), my husband had the Alfredo (big portion and delicious). It was a really fun atmosphere. Will be going back to this place the next time we are in town.

It's right in the heart of Little Italy on India Street in between all of the other wonderful Italian restaurants. When we walked up. They have patio seating as well as inside dining. We decided to do inside dining as it was starting to get chilly outside. We were immediately seated by a wonderful hostess, and that made a positive impression upon us. The whole hostess staff had great smiles on their faces and they were very welcoming. After about two minutes of sitting down, our server came to ask us if we needed time to look over the menu. We said yes but that we wanted a Foccacia Bread table starter. She smiled and immediately went to put the order in. A few few minutes later she came back and we ordered our drinks for dinner: Raspberry Italian Soda, Orange Crush with Fresh Cream on top, and a non-alcoholic spritz. After we got our drinks and sip on them, it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. We all know that the burger here is fantastic! However, this evening, we decided to try new things. We ordered: Pappardelle Bolognese with Added Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese as it is normally prepared, and a Caesar salad with shrimp added. Our food was out within about 10 to 15 minutes and everything was prepared perfectly. I have to say that we really enjoyed dining in this location and we may need to come back here more instead of traveling to the Del Mar location sometimes. Our server was super customer service oriented and we appreciated her. She went above and beyond to get the orange crush drink to be unique like an Italian soda for my daughter. We were super stuffed and could not do dessert, but we did promise to come back to enjoy the lava cake at a future time. Overall, this was an excellent visit and we appreciate the staff in the great energy that we received at this location. I do highly recommend it.

Nothing stood out, and overall the menu felt uninspired and boring. That said, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal, which made the experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately, great service can only make up so much when the food doesn't deliver. While I appreciated the hospitality, I don't see myself returning for the cuisine.
