The store clerks are very cordial and the postal staff are terrific. Apparently, they'll be relocating to the space vacated by Food Basics. I'm looking forward to the expansion. However, I hope they won't loose their charm which they currently have.

The hand cream that she was using wasn't healing a thing. I found one brand that seemed promising while doing some research online. The site said that it was available at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart. The store was conveniently on my way home from work. Then again, I cut across most of the GTA, so I pass by a ton of stores! This store is in a plaza. There seemed to be a Food Basics or some green-painted grocery store that has closed down. Shoppers Drug Mart is in the corner further down. The parking area can be a bit chaotic. It's an older plaza and the lanes are more narrow than what I'm used to in suburbia. This store has been here for a while. It has everything that you'd expect it to have, including a grocery aisle. I walked every aisle and could not find the hand cream that I was looking for, which was disappointing. However, there was a Gold Bond one that was on sale. It has been approved by the Canadian Diabetes Society. It has proven results. It was also on sale. I bought it! I dropped the cream off at my parents' place. My mom said that she would try the hand cream out immediately. This morning, I spoke to my mom. She said that three hours later, she noticed a huge difference. She no longer has cracked hands. Nice! She asked me whether she could pay me back. Hearing her say that this product works is all that I wanted. The lone cashier at this store was friendly and made sure that each customer was okay. She helped out a senior ahead of me. I liked the care that she showed and the help that she gave. I'd come back here again when I'm in the area. (157)

Tonight, the juice was $5.99 which is a little steep, but I'm used to paying that much for it at Shoppers so, that's fine. What I took exception to was the full price juice with an expiry date within the same week ( i.e. good until December 10). It takes me two weeks to go through 2 L of juice, therefore only half of it was going to be consumed by the best before date. I asked the cashier (who was very polite) if they could check and see if there was juice with a better freshness date - and if not, if it could be discounted. He phoned his supervisor....No and no. I told him that that's fine but I want them to know they lost a pretty good customer because of their non customer-centric policy. What I didn't mention (because it was only the cashier I spoke with) - every time I walk into their store I walk out with about $60-$80 typically worth of products but I'll be taking future business to Rexall from now on. I prefer Shoppers to Rexall (because of selection) but Rexall excels in customer service and I have no doubt this would have been handled differently by Rexall (they would have discounted it by 50% and apologized for the oversight because old juice should automatically be discounted).
