Purchasing a new car here was a great experience. Kal Laugerman(aka Car Guy Kal) is a great salesman. He is extremely knowledgeable about what he sells. I was a remote buyer 93 miles away. Kal took his time helping me first over chat and then we finally connected over the phone. The price he quoted me was the exact price I paid. He had the guys detail the car then spent over an hour with me helping me get connect to and learn about the Sync 4 system and all the details of the car. My daughter in law bought a new Explorer the same day back home.(Kal even checked for any finance specials they may be able to use while I was on the phone with my son) The dealer she bought from sent her out of there with her phone connect via bluetooth and no knowledge of Sync 4. Though I'm by far not a tech guy, I used what Kal showed me earlier that day, and helped her get connected through Apple CarPlay and got her Explorer linked up with the Ford appon her phone and showed her a few features. Less than 1 month the car overheated and needs new water pump, timing belt, thermostat and housing assembly. You can't tell me this car was ever inspected! Due to mechanical issues plaguing my 2022 F-150 (purchased elsewhere) I needed an inexpensive, reliable replacement, pronto. I was pleased that Brondes had a large enough inventory that they had a "bare bones" model available, and when I dealt with my salesperson Bill Neumeyer and explained my situation, that I qualified for X plan pricing and the Medical Professional incentives, he moved quickly to facilitate my deal. The whole transaction took about an hour, the truck was ready before it was promised, and a potentially painful transaction was handled quickly and professionally. WARNING***LONG RANT AHEAD Unbelievably bad experience and customer service at Brondes Ford here in Maumee. My parents have purchased their vehicles here for many, many years with Sue McKinny, who unfortunately passed away several years ago. I saw a 2019 Ford Escape online and contacted them to do a test drive. I did the test drive yesterday and told Tessa (a brand new sales person with Brondes) that I was interested in trading in my van. Side note: I had asked for a woman because I am so sick of the "honey and dears" from condescending male salespeople. In any event, Tessa contacted me this morning and asked if she could pick up my van from my workplace and leave the same car I test drove (to maybe drive it a little more to see how I liked it around town.) And she would have my van inspected for a trade in value. I cleaned out and emptied my entire van and she came at 12 noon to take it back to the dealership. I finally got the numbers sheet at 4:33 pm today with their offer and trade in. I told her to pull up the CarFax report and send it to me and if all looked good I will be there as soon as we closed at 5pm. I got there at 5:10 and asked to test drive a same exact 2019 Escape because I was not use to the "EcoBoost" and just wanted to make sure 'what I was hearing' was typical for that model. So a quick 10 minute test drive and I roll back in the lot with the 2nd 2019 Escape and expect to sign my check over and do the deal on my first choice/test drive. Tessa looks at me (very pink in the cheeks) and says "they just sold it out from under us." What? I'm so confused??? She says the Sales Manager (Chad Cheatwood -perfect name for a cheater) said "he saw you pull in with the original car then take another one out and called the other person who was waiting to buy the original car and sold it to them instead." I asked for a meeting with Chad...another super condescending male, and he says to me "you could have bought the car yesterday when you did the test drive or you could have purchased it all day today"....yeah right....when YOU just signed off on the final numbers on your vehicle and my trade in at 4:33 pm today. I was at your lot within 35 minutes of receiving your offer. He then threw Tessa under the bus by saying "I don't think she explained to you that someone test drove the car yesterday before you and had just decided on it today"...Wait? What? She didn't buy it immediately either, but now she gets it, when I'm here with check in-hand? He then says, "we'll do right by you and get you in another vehicle"..... say what? Are you kidding me? A day and a half of my time dealing with you for nothing? No....you will not get one more minute of my time nor a dollar of my hard earned money! Poor Tessa, brand new job and she said I was going to be her first sale....I told her that Chad threw her under the bus and wished her luck. Poor girl. The good news is that there is alot of inventory of Ford Escapes out there. I like the model, it fits my short stature, it has some pep and good gas milage...it also fits my budget. I will find another, it just is a time consuming process and I thought I was in the home stretch....now I just need to start over. I have my theory of how this all actually went down. Sticker price was 21,100. Online it was listed at 18,400. I sent a pic of the online price to Tessa and she got back with me to say they would honor the online price. (Of course they would because wouldn't that be bait and switch?) So my feeling is that the person who wanted to buy the car never saw the online price and was willing to pay the sticker price because they didn't know any better. Chad "Cheater"wood shame on you. I brought my 2022 f250 6.7 diesel truck in via tow truck on Monday July 1, 2024 because of a fuel leak. I spoke with Jeff in service. He told me he has to charge me $250 upfront before they look at it and if they can fix it for that then they will. The next day on July 2nd I get a call with an estimate for $2500 including $1500 to take apart and power wash my engine. I had to take a minute but when I called him back to tell him that I don't want him to do the work he reminded me of the $250 he will be charging me. I asked what the problem was with the leak and he said my fuel filter had split open. "How much to replace just that?" I asked. He said it would be $280 to replace both fuel filters. Noticing that the price I was already paying for nothing was $30 under what a set of fuel filters would be I asked if I could pay the extra $30 to have the fuel filters installed. He said it would be $250 plus the $280. "What about what you said about fixing it for $250? Wouldn't that go towards the labor of installing the filters?" I asked. "You would owe that regardless" he replied flatly. It was this moment I realized not only is Jeff a desk jockey that throws out labor quotes like he gets a commission, but that he had no regard for the customers that he comes in contact with. I could also tell he was upset I wasn't going to have them work on my truck. I originally towed my vehicle to ford because I had an inkling they were the professionals, Jeff was not living up to this expectation. "Do you see what I am saying at all Jeff? About your promise to fix it for the initial deposit of $250 but if you can't you would call me with a quote?" "No I do not at all, sir!" Jeff replied. He was getting agitated, I could tell. "The initial $250 was a diagnostic fee that you would pay no matter what work we do" he finished. This was the first time "diagnostic fee" had been mentioned, although I'm familiar with the term. I knew I owed the deposit no matter what but not giving any credit to the initial conversation reminded me this was a salesman I was speaking to, not customer service. The next morning when my truck was picked up I found that Jeff had tacked on yet another $50 feet for "shop supplies" they said it was for tools or anything they used during the service. But There was no service to use tools or supplies on. Jeff just wanted to gouge me again because he is petty and unprofessional. Not trustworthy, shady dealership.. I took my vehicle in for squeaky rear brakes. They called and told me I needed $3k in work. I said no way and I would pick up my F150. Service guy said they had already started the work and vehicle was on lift until parts delivered. I drove by that Saturday and vehicle was on the back lot with no issues. Service guy said it wouldn't be ready until the next Tuesday or Wednesday. I told them I was taking my truck. Paid diagnostic fee. What ever was wrong with the truck was already fixed. I recently relocated from out of state and called to set an appointment for an oil change on my 2022 Bronco Sport at this location for a weekday (one vehicle family and I can't spend half a day waiting for an oil change). Instead of being politely informed the weekdays are walk-ins only, the person who answered the phone was so argumentative I couldn't even get my words out properly. We decided not to pursue it further as it wasn't in our best interest but they definitely did make the effort to resolve our issue. It's good to know that management pays attention to these kind of thing** These guys completely ignored us. We had to walk around to find someone to direct us to someone who could help us. We just wanted to get the keyless entry code for our vehicle and they tried to put a diagnostic fee in the price. They quoted us about $350. I know cars and I also know they have a portable machine that they just plug in to read the code. After we mentioned that, they tried to make me feel stupid. Well of course we left. This place is a joke. I went here today with a scheduled appointment for an oil change and a tire rotation. I have been to numerous Ford dealerships to get my oil changed with a service plan that I have in my vehicle. Always covered everywhere else. The seemed too busy to care about gaining a new customer and said they couldn't find my plan. I went to another Ford dealership and they were able to pull up my plan within minutes. Not sure if its cause im a women alone and the men think they can try to talk circles around me and to try and confuse me but it doesnt work! Called on Monday and made appointment for Friday morning at 7:30am for a front brake job. Was told it would be done in 3-1/2 hours. Was first customer in the door. Told them I'd be back at noon to pick up the car. Wife and I planned our trips around this repair. Returned at 12:30. Service technician told me the mechanic assigned to my car was 'called away unexpectedly' and they hadn't even started. No courtesy call, no advanced notice, just, "Oh, you're here! Umm... it's in the bay... not even started." They then said it would be done by 2:20pm. I waited for over 2 hours. UPDATE LESS than 10 minutes after posting this review I received a call from the service manager asking what could be done to make this right. The service manager did take steps to make this right and I appreciate his efforts. I won't delete my review, but I have updated it from 2 to 4 stars. We both agreed - what happened was completely unacceptable. read more

After test-driving several different models which he kindly got out for us in the snow and ice, we decided the Nautilus fit our lifestyle and needs the best. Worst customer service, not a single person has any clue to what's going on anywhere. Called to make an appointment for a recall and it took between 20-30 minutes to get someone on the phone, then when I arrived on Monday for said appointment I wasn't even scheduled in. So when the guy came back and looked up the recall I just said never mind don't even bother I'll go somewhere else that's more organized and know what's going on. Side note I also ordered some paint on the same day for my Mustang and nobody ever called to let me know it was in 15 days later I had to call them to see if it came in. Their service department is awesome! We had a little slip-up and put regular gas in a diesel engine. We noticed the mistake while still at the gas station and while my husband was calling tow companies, I was calling repair shops. I first called the other local Ford dealership and told them what had happened and the guy told me that the truck was going to need a bunch of new parts (not MAY need parts, but was GOING to need new parts before they even saw the truck). After I told him that we haven't even left the gas station, and the truck would need drained and have some lubricity added and maybe have the injectors cleaned, I didn't think anything would need to be replaced at this point. Well, I guess this guy didn't like dealing with a woman that knew a little about diesel engines so he got snippy and said it would be four days before he could get the truck done. Then, we called Brondes and I spoke with John. I told him about our dilema and how we were just passing through and we were on a cross country trip. He said that he would get us back on the road that day. So, we had the truck towed to Brondes and they got us in, got everything drained and fixed (nothing major needed replaced) and they didn't try to rip us off saying we needed new this, new that - the only new thing we needed was an air filter. I know I'm not local to Maumee, but if I was, I would buy a car from them in a heartbeat because I trust their service department. read more

I have to start out by saying I have used Brondes several times in the past without any issues but this time was different. I took my son's car (2012 Fusion) in for an oil change and tire rotation. The service tech recommended I do the 90,000-mile service for the vehicle which I agreed to at a cost of $993. The first issue I had was that they didn't check for outstanding recalls on the car which any other dealer that I go to does first thing. The next issues I had were not big deals but an indication of a lack of attention to detail. They left the valve stem cap off one of the tires and they failed to reset the oil change warning on the dash. The next issue is really why I'm writing this and for the low rating. This car has always been trouble-free for us so when my son became stranded less than a week after the service I was concerned. One of the brake shoes had fallen out of the caliper and the caliper became locked up on the rotor completely seizing up the wheel. This is after I got a complete brake replacement two years ago from Brondes and service less than 7 days prior at Bondes. How does that happen? Looking at the service report the brakes measured fine and no issues indicated. The car had to be towed ($100) and not to Brondes. I won't be going back there. Tireman made the repair for $800 and stated any competent technician should have recognized this issue. It could have been catastrophic if this would have failed on the expressway. I called the service manager several times and he never picks up his phone or called me back. read more

The service department gave me the worst "service" I have ever experienced. Went there to see how much it would cost me to have my cars ECM updated to correct a known issue and to fix a noise coming from my steering/suspension system. After trying to belittle me about the update and telling me he's unfamiliar with what I'm asking I gave him the TSB (service bulletin) number concerning the issue and miraculously, without looking- quoted me on the cost of the update and asked for the keys so they could see what was wrong with the steering/suspension. At this point he had not mentioned any type of charges or fees that would be incurred, and I was operating under the assumption they were going to check the car and tell me the cost of getting it fixed. Had they told me there was a cost associated with telling me how much it would cost me to have the problem fixed, I would have politely declined and taken it to my normal mechanic. I was only there instead of my normal mechanic to inquire about the cost of the update which is beyond my mechanics abilities. After a couple of hours he speaks to me about my car, proceeding to tell me they flashed the ecm to update it, and that my left and right lower control arms are shot and that it will cost 1k to fix and asked if I would like a loaner vehicle while they repair it for about a week. I decline and he gives me a bill for 200.00+ for the flash and diagnosis. Confused, I question the charges and explain I was only there for an estimate. He proceeds to tell me I agreed to have the ecm flashed for $100, and that the diagnostic fee was discussed and agreed to before giving him the keys. This was false and the only mention of money was the $100 for the flash, and it was only mentioned once- and that was pertaining to how much the flash would cost. I tell him I never authorized the flash, or any fee for diagnostics for that matter. I was only there to see how much it would cost. He then rudely replies "well that's how much it's going to cost to get your keys back." I ask to speak to a manager and he says "ok" and leaves. He comes back a few minutes later and leads me to the managers office. The manager, having already been told of the situation by the technician who claimed I okayed the charges ask me how he can help. I explain the situation, which during the entire time the technician stood there listening in and giving his input about "what really happened". Stopping short of calling him a liar, I reluctantly said there must have been a miscommunication between us. He then proceeds to say in fine detail how I authorized the pcm flash at the given cost, and furthermore agreed to the diagnostic charge subsequently given to me. At this point I know there was no miscommunication or misinterpretation on his part, as the story as he is telling it is blatantly different from the conversation that actually occurred. For instance, his reference that after I okayed the $100 ecm to be done, I was told it would be $100 more to diagnose the clunk and I authorized that as well. The term "$100" only came out of his mouth ONE time.. in reference to the cost of the flash. At no other point in the conversation was any other mention of money brought up, nor was there any mention of the words diagnostics, fee, or anything of that nature. The service manager offers me a discount, and offers to void the diagnosis fee. When I explain that I was there only to get the costs that will be associated and that I wasn't prepared to pay anything at that time, he offers to have someone drive me home or to the bank to get the money, and then offers me a credit application to apply for a credit card for him to charge. I explain I'll just come back when I get paid to pay them and get my car back. He tells me I can leave with my car and to pay him when I get paid. I get my keys and leave. I go to my mechanic the next day and he looks at my car without charge, as usual. He then shows me the issue: a BOLT HAD COME LOOSE and had worked it's way out so far that 80% of the bolt was showing, and only a half inch or so was keeping it from falling out COMPLETELY. Had the bolt fallen out it would have caused complete loss of control of the vehicle. He drove the bolt back into the frame and tightened it and told me the control arms were in perfect condition and that the bushings had been recently replaced even- which was probably when the bolt failed to get tightened properly. After tightening it, he re-checked over everything and told me the car was fine now. When I asked how much my bill was, he laughed and said he wasn't going to charge me for tightening a bolt. I left dvd the car drives like it's brand new. No more clunking or erratic steering or anything out of the ordinary. The parts brondes told me needed replaced were in perfect condition. I'm appalled they consistently lied and even more so that they allowed the safety of my family and I to be so seriously jeopardized merely over a loose bolt. read more

My wife and I went in to look at a used truck and a new fusion, we were going to trade in a 2007 Rav4 and a 2007 Nitro, they wanted to give us $6500 for both of our vehicles combined!! I was in shock, we were looking at spending over $40,000 in two vehicles and they tried to totally screw us over, I realize that your going to get screwed trading a car in but that was ridiculous beyond belief. Each of our cars according to KBB is worth over $6000 trade in value in good condition which they are at least in that condition.
