The motor is fine but what happened was the internal springs that can't be seen snapped so with his coaching, he explained my options and he had the parts available. My issue was fixed same day and in my opinion a decent reasonable price. Great service, fast accurate, same day repair. I also appreciate gator garage door sending me emails and photos of the repairs being done so I was kept in real time updates. Work on working was broken & springs over-tightened (short life, $1000 replace). Maybe this will turn-around better in 2027 & beyond? A little research found the company may have sold to group of investors. Who consolidated similar companies & tightened expenses (reduced worker pay & different product supply chain).

Guy came out and fixed it just before the summer. In August, the garage door jammed and wouldn't open or close. We were under warranty so they quickly came out. A different guy came out and temporarily fixed it. He told my wife that he fixed it, but it would break again, because the initial installation was poor. This wasn't communicated to me by my wife, but I got an estimate for an "Upgrade" for the motor. I didn't want some upgrade, so I did nothing. A couple months later it breaks again. I talk to my wife and she told me that the guy said it would break if we didn't get a new motor. News to me! Talked to my father, who is an engineer. He said a new motor didn't make sense when the other one wasn't broken. I call Gator and got the admin and relayed that the motor change didn't make sense and why did I need it. She asked someone, saying it was "over her head" and that answer didn't make senses either. So I email them asking them to clarify with a few pictures...and got no response, except to confirm my email for a response that never came. It's been a week, and the company that was soooo quick to respond to all correspondence when we were buying something has now gone silent. My father came out and inspected the door and turns out we didn't need a new motor. The motor was working fine. The problem was that one of the guys that came to repair it increased the torque, which bent a rod the motor attaches to by ramming the door into the floor beneath the door. It also broke the door again. The motor was misplaced, but was easily moved a notch forward on the mount. He lowered the torque and that did it. It now works fine, but the rod is now permanently bent. Now, was the second repair dude trying to sell something that wasn't needed because my wife is a woman? I don't know. We were offered a new motor for $800 that could have been fixed by changing back the torque and shifting the motor, something that took less than a half hour. I don't recommend this place, which is a shame because they are highly rated on Yelp and recommended by a friend.
