Having stayed in parks from Seattle to here, I don't say that lightly. The beautiful oak trees provided a neverending stream of unique birds that were very amusing. The proximity to the gulf provided a great place to relax with a cool breeze. Scanning other parks close by showed us another beautiful place with a 450.00all inclusive rent. We are grandfathered in so our rent won't ever change. As a cancer patient I make several trips for treatment in Houston. There is a clinic close by. Fuel prices are .30less in the area and that adds up. On fixed incomes, this made the move too hard to resist. So with a heavy heart I leave this review and move on. Love to all. Mike and Rosie

I come here for a short half day trip to walk some trails with my kids 5&7. Nothing is too strenuous here for the kiddos. The facilities are typically pretty clean too and there are picnic tables to be able to have a nice lunch or snacks. The park has plenty of trails, picnic areas, fishing spots, and gators! The observatory is always a hit too!

This park is far away enough from Houston but still close enough for a day trip, which is what I did. It took me about 30 minutes to drive here from Sugar Land. As I approached the entrance gate, I saw that they had two lines of cars with gate booths, just like the national parks. A ranger came out to my car and I registered myself as a day visitor. A park map was given to me and off I went to explore! Brazos Bend SP is larger than I thought it would be. There was a large parking lot and a few trailheads not too far away from the entrance, but I decided to drive past it to the next lot. 2 miles on the road later, the next parking lot was equally large but with much less cars and visitors. There's an interpretive center that was closed when I went, but a water fountain was nearby where I refilled my water bottle. I ended up walking along a combination of trails to get a feel for the place. The trails are mostly flat with asphalt, dirt, and light gravel. The peacefulness of this park is what really convinced me of the gem that this place is. Along the way, I witnessed many birds, including several vulture roosts in the trees. I also saw the American alligator in a pond, which I viewed from a safe distance. It would be quite difficult to reach the river and the ponds because of the natural vegetation in the area, so there weren't any wild alligators on the trails. I didn't get the chance to fully explore this park, but I wouldn't mind returning here another day. The gift shop offers a variety of items to purchase and the rangers seemed knowledgeable about the history of the park. Overall, I enjoyed my time here!

We would have been pissed to pull up to this place. The only photos they have posted of the outside are very misleading. It looks like a total dump. Grass is grown knee-high, the "cabins" look so run down. It looks like there's been no maintenance to speak of. The website boasts "luxury amenities" but the words "luxury" and "resort" are wayyy off course.

Unfortunately, that pond seems to be home to millions of mosquitoes! The mosquitoes were absolutely unbearable, especially in the evenings and at night. It was nearly impossible to enjoy sitting outside, and we ended up covered in mosquito bites. It really took away from what otherwise would have been a great camping experience. The morning we left, we packed up before sunrise, and the mosquitoes were relentless. Just trying to disconnect our electrical cords, water hoses, and other equipment was miserable because we were constantly being bitten. Several mosquitoes even made their way into our truck while we were packing up. We were still killing mosquitoes inside the truck 700 miles down the road! It's unfortunate because the campground itself is nice, and the beachfront views are excellent. However, the mosquito problem was bad enough to significantly impact our stay. That's the main reason I'm giving Dellanera RV Park 2 stars instead of 5.

The pictures that I've seen of this place preach. I sell land in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The rivers that we have experienced Remind Me! a lot of the Home that we all long for. I pray one day I get an opportunity to actually visit this place! It looks amazing. Attached are some pictures--I've included one of the river on the ranch at Waldo's Camp. A friend sent it to me. I've also included fun pictures--even one from my Landsale in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. The rivers there are absolutely incredible. I've heard the rivers in Texas are great! Just kidding. I know they are-- because I'm from Texas! I'm biased. Keep checking out my photos and you'll see ;) That's why I'm coming to Columbus one day and spending some time at the Camp! I hope they are ready for me! And when I say they, I mean the owner and any of his employees. I've seen him around town--on a billboard or two. That tells me something. The trail was paved but not always the same width. Some parts were narrower than others. I saw warning signs for the cyclists to give room for pedestrians. Oh, the restroom is on the right side of parking lot. There were many parking spots. Lucky us, we came here at sunset hour on a windy day. Not many park goers there. I would love to return on a sunny day in the summer.
