Insurance agencies like this one are criminal organisations. Wish I put stars into the negatives but this cruel world doesn't work like that. Our broker was bought out by Brokerlink and we had no initial choice. The service model is horrendous, while the individual brokers themselves are kind and helpful. The problem is, you wait on hold for 15+ minutes, and when you do get through to someone, it's never the same person you dealt with previously. So there's no continuity, no personal service, and you have to explain your situation all over again. The broker I was dealing with left midway through placing a new policy, no one picked up the ball, and when I called to find out why the delay, I was told she's no longer with the company and had to start fresh. So this isn't a broker to use if you want personal service with knowledge of your individual situation. I think Brokerlink is owned by Intact Financial and was therefore uneasy that they were placing me with Intact Insurance - this doesn't seem right to me, that's an insurance agent not a broker who will shop my prices around. I was endlessly frustrated dealing with Brokerlink and we quickly moved on to a local broker with a local office, and therefore a broker who will know us and our situation. read more

Never ever will I deal with this insurance broker company. After cancelling my insurance in February 2019, going through the proper procedure, I still got charged the premium until June when I noticed it and brought it to their attention. I called Brokerlink (fyi they don't have a contact number or email for complaints, on their website and that should say a lot about them) and here's the history: Call 1: CSR puts me on hold saying she was going to contact the insurance (Economical), 35 min later, a CSR from Economical picks up the call unaware of any details. She says I have to resolve the issue with Brokerlink. I get transferred back and talk to someone who says will look into it and call me back. Never heard from them. Call 2: CSR looks into my file, says there's some notes and adds will have the initial manager call me about the outcome. No call back. Call 3: CSR answers, puts me on hold to look into "the notes", says they have to contact Economical to find out what happened, I reply I want to talk to a manager, he transfers me to a voice message system. Call 4: I ask CSR directly that I want to talk to a manager. She insists there's no one available. I say I want details about submitting a written complaint online. I get transferred to a manager. Manager says I'm supposed to get a refund (though they're keeping the penalty of one month's premium because I cancelled in the middle of my contract) on July 1st. I ask why noy now and have to wait for the refund. He replies "I don't know. I guess because your billing day was first of the month"... I will never deal with this broker again nor will I recommend it to friends. read more

Useless online broker. Agents are new not knowledgeable and really don't know what they are doing. Stay away from this cheap online broker. When you get your online quote, it gives you a very lucrative rate but once you call them and talk for a while then it's a different story. It's a tactic to catch a fish on the hook! read more

These guys are terrible! They sell your email and phone number to telemarketers and survey companies. They all referenced my being a broker link customer. When I called and complained they claimed that I agreed for my information to be used for marketing and research purposes. They sold me intact insurance which I later found out I could have dealt with directly. Intact has been great btw. Stay away from brokerlink and their scams!!!! read more

If you have ever come up dealing with this insurance, I would strongly recommend avoiding them. I was trying to order car insurance with them and they had kept me on hold for 2 days. Whenever I called them for status, they told me "we are gonna call you back in a min" and so, they ignored me more than 6 times. I was so sick and tired with hearing this and they had never called me back although they were aware that I was in a rush to get the insurance. Eventually, I just canceled the insurance and I called TD insurance. They processed the insurance and sent me the documents within 10min. They lied to me repeatedly, tried to scam me out of money, threatened me (with lies) if I cancelled my contract, and once they finally did cancel the contract after repeated requests, they sent my name and number on to a collections agency. This is the most incompetent company I have dealt with for insurance, or any other business for that matter. Their lack of basic understanding on any insurance matter that I brought up with them was surprising. Me and my wife had a conditional offer on our dream house accepted, all we had left to do was secure insurance. They lied to us repeatedly, didn't return phone calls or emails, repeatedly tried to pass us off to other people in the company, and in the end they cost us our dream house. Broker Link has to be the worst brokerage imaginable!! My original broker went on maternity leave and I was never re-assigned a broker because "they don't do that anymore". I get multiple letters a month, often with conflicting information. If I call the local office, it is likely to be re-routed to any available office in the province. Also twice my calls have been dropped, never to be returned, which then falls to me to re-start this same issue with a new person in their ineffective call system. No one knows anything about what's going on within their organization, although they always seem remarkably sure the person they transfer you to, will. Would literally have been better off with self-service than the service I was 'provided'. read more
