I have had multiple problems with Brokerlink, it boils down to bad customer service, incompetence and a lack of willingness to correct the mistake. One of them is in October 2025 they said in a phone call (which they have listen to) that they were insuring my son and taking a car off my insurance, both of which they (in there words) "forgot" to do. I only found out 6 months later becuase my insurance was due up for renewal. When confronted about it they said it was a mistake but they would not take responsability for it or refund me for the amount I had to pay for the extra car for the duration of 6 months. I believe this is a grave mistake becuase my son has been driving around with no insurance at all for that period of time. STAY AWAY from Brokerlink! read more

Got a quote from Kyle MacQuarrie. Totaly lied to me a bout getting a commercial insurance policy for my business, My company name isn't anywhere on the policy after the paperwork was finalized. This is a personal insurance policy. Plus I dion't even have access to the insurnace online portal so I got absolutely nothing for my money. Brokerlink is now part of Intact insurance. I have been with Intact for my car and home insurance since past several years and every time Intact want me to contact my broker, that is Brokerlink. This is a third class company. Their customer service is ZERO. You call them there is endless recording of how good they are and how they can get you the best rates etc etc. You are put on hold for extended period of time with no one to take your call. When it comes to annual renewal of your policy they are all over you, once you accept the renewal you will never be able to get hold of them again. DO NOT use Intact Insurance if they want you to deal with Brokerlink. read more

Appalling company . I cannot believe that i Left a perfectly good brokerage to save a few bucks and joined this bunch of incompetents . They failed to cancel my auto policy insurance on one vehicle after I told them the vehicle had been sold , then refused to credit me back with the amount . They misstate the contents of prior calls and lie about legal positions in subsequent conversations with you . How about this ? : if you don't renew with us we cannot return the money you overpaid ! if you cancel the old policy we cannot refund you ! All legally wrong . Do not under any circumstances go here ; the money you save in the first year will almost double on renewal in the second year . The people are so nice and I leave the conversation every time feeling like I'm satisfied. AND THEN... nothing gets done. I cancel my insurance - it doesn't get cancelled. I email the person who helped me repeatedly and get ignored. I finally call a couple months later to find it was an error and was never filed. I am told the person moved to a new department which is why she never replied. I just can't imagine being a boss and saying 'ok congrats on your new job now let's just say fuck it to who you're helping and make them call in again!' Called in again and spoke to another lovely woman and yet was charged AGAIN! For another month Despite their error from months ago they acknowledged happened. This company is brutal. They only send us our policy and invoice very short time before our renewal and most of the time never gave us the total amount of our renewal until after the renewal saying they would get it to us shortly, but we never received it until after the renewal and at that time had no way to check to see if we were overpaying. And we were overpaying by almost 35% from another company that was offering better coverage. I would definitely stay away from this company. read more

Giving them one star because there is no option for negative rating. The staff at Brokerlink including managers like Timothy Kauk are as helpless as possible. Despite prompt attempts to cancel my auto and condo insurance, they did not support my cancellation request effectively resulting in a heavy cancellation fee levied on me for delays on their end. As a mediator between Wawanesa and client (myself), their role was to ensure that my first request for cancellation made 2 months prior to the date of renewal was processed timely. But I was told that I need to contact them one month later on a specific date. Note that they did not make a note of my first call on my file. I followed up with a phone call on the advised date one month later and the agent asked me if I had another insurance in place otherwise he cannot cancel my insurance. I did some homework on my end to compare the policies while the agent promised to send me the paperwork for cancellation dated for the renewal date to avoid any cancellation penalties. The agent never sent me the cancellation paperwork. I went away for a vacation and returned couple days before the renewal date. It happened to be a Saturday but I still called and emailed Brokerlink and the same agent but received no response which brought me past the renewal date by one day which was a Sunday. I contacted Brokerlink via phone on Monday (one day past the renewal date) to cancel all my ties with them as I requested two months ago and followed up with another request one month prior to renewal. But the new agent who answered my call that day said there were no notes on my file again. I asked to be transferred to the manager. Enters Timothy K. He was a big zero as well. He started off the conversation with me quoting his agents feedback without asking me the walk him through my experience from the start. When I tried to explain to him in detail my attempts to cancel the insurances so many times he simply denied my attempts. I sent him screenshots of my email and he never responded to those. When I followed up regarding them he said that he has listened to my phone call with the most recent agent and that was good enough. I had had enough of their crap by this time giving me high blood pressure with every attempt, email and call. I had to pay a heavy cancellation for constant goofups, delays, and bandage solutions on their staff's end. Do not trust these people! I would not recommend Wawanesa either because they take advantage of clients transitioning from their 20s to 30s as there is a discount clients get for being a young driver under 30 but as soon as you hit your 29th birthday, they increase the insurance by straight up $90. Now I don't get my broker but a 1-800 useless person that can't help and won't follow up or call back. This company has turned into a joke and will take my business elsewhere. Too bad I can't post a lower review. I was with them for a year no problem, then time for renewal came. I received the renewal...All good. Then apparently the insurance company decidednot to insure my home (1859) despite two successful inspections over the past 7 years. They decided not to renew. No big deal, I had another provider within 24 hours and let BrokerLink know. I signed all the cancellations acknowledging I already had new coverage and would not renew after the end of term. Perfect. Don't know what Brokerlink rep Emma O'Hare, or any other rep did, but many weeks later I recived a bill for extra days of insurance never agreed to or documented. (Must have been a brokerlink error) Didn't hear from Brokerlink for WEEKS despite repearted requests for support. Now they say I will go into collection if I don't pay. Absolutely no explanation as to why I SHOULD pay. What a scam. read more

I will never recommend this Broker to anyone - they are owned by Intact Insurance, hence they will not even look at another insurance company to save you money. They increased my policy by 20.00 a month without informing me, I realized this only when I checked my bank account. When I called they said it was because I was not using their "my drive app" correctly and my policy changed. When I asked to get this rectified and to speak to a Manager, I had to wait 5 days to speak to someone, who in turn had me call Intact, who then told me they could do nothing about the increase to call the Broker. This is the former Law Insurance Agents. They have changed their name and the old google reviews will not show. They FORCED me to give them my deed to my house. Here is my old review from google 2 years ago...............................................................Be very careful of this place. They forced me to give them a copy of my deed to our house just to get my name added onto the house insurance. BTW the insurance was a lot more than anyone else. I have since left them (relief). And then because I was going to another company and not renewing with them, they wanted tons more information. What do they do with all this information is what I'd like to know. Not normal as far as I know. My other company has never asked for such things. Ya know... I honestly have nothing to complain about. They insure me with Intact on four different product types: Auto, Motorcycle, RV, and Home, and everyone I have ever spoken to there has been friendly, helpful, knowledgable, and effective. I had my motorcycle with another carrier and I think after I developed a bit more experience, realized I could save nearly $800 per year just adding it to my existing Intact policy, which they did, on the spot, over the phone. I had been wrestling with my other brokerage for like two days and the other guy didn't really seem to know what he was doing. For me, as much as I generally prefer going with smaller independent agencies for stuff like this, BrokerLink has just consistently delivered really good service. So, keep it up. If there was a lower rating I would give it. It took almost for the initial response to a quote I requested. Then only after sending a second email. As with everything these day you have to self serve by filling out all their paperwork online and sending it back. After a few more emails for further information ( If they did their own paperwork and questions further emails would not be necessary ) I have yet to receive a quote three months later, brutal customer service. Broker link is a subsidiary of intact Insurance, so it is a conflict of interest for them to recommend anyone else other than intact or the other three subsidiaries. This means you're not getting the best value for an insurance quote, only what's in their best interest. They took $8,500 from me and a month later decided to demand alot of info about my car so I told them NO and I wanted a refund. They threatened to charge me a cancellation penalty but then changed their mind when I told them I contacted the FSRA to report their fraudulent activities. The management never ccalled me back or gave me their position in writing, which by law they must provide. I'm so happy I left I'm now with new company TD with a much better rate and value read more

He did not help at all and his interest was not in customer service or my needs as their client. Between BrokerLink and Economical Insurance, this place is a scam! Check the reviews for Economical. I encountered the poorest customer service ever. It took me two weeks and more than three hours on the phone to get a quote for my new place, and they still didn't provide me with the required information. I just gave up and found another company. They promised to call me the next day but never did. ck. Every single time, they added new questions they needed answers to before they could do anything. horrible customer service, long wait times once you finally talk to someone they ack the issue promise this fix and that and nothing gets done! I spoke with 6 different reps and a manger and it was a horrid experience all around. I was sold a policy without the proper details or documentation provided. continued to have to call for answers and finally told the policy was incorrect and looking at over $100 more a month. The rep didn't do his job therefore moth myself and the underwritter we given incorrect information. This rep ignored my emails and calls for weeks. new rep after new rep agreed to have this fixed nothing was ever fixed I was not provided documents the quote or even a policy number. final complaint went to a manager who basically said nothing can be done the rep didn't do his job properly but nothing they can do. he will be provided more coaching while I was left paying an outrageous price or starting over with a new provider. They wasted hours of my time not doing their job and not responding. now I received an email they want me to pay more then told price to complete cancellation....ooopppsss manager can't do math and this is now my issue and also to go to the bank and pay myself! horrid experience with this company customer service is non existent they have unqualified people selling Insurnace and fail to rectify any issue brought forward. avoid this company at all costs unless you want to be ripped off. read more

I have been fighting with them for an issue that they caused last year. One of their agents told me I didnt have to pay for the last 2 months since I paid a down payment when I joined. Little did I know that I DID need to pay, but for the next years insurance so I was 2 months ahead. Now I have been playing catch up, and they have been trying to take payments out without telling me the dates. I was prepared to pay the payments but I needed time as I couldn't afford 700 in one month. They have taken NO accountability for the situation THEY put me in. Why was there changes made to our policy then without our knowledge or consent. We pay our home home insurance through Scotiabank, and our policy switched from Unifund to Brokerlink without us even knowing. The price changed by over $500 a month and no one contacted us, we only found out when it came out of our account. We are cancelling our policy, none of our information on file was even correct and we were overcharged on our policy. We should be entitled to a refund due to the incorrect info driving our policy price up and it's a pain to even that. This company is so poorly run. This is ridiculous. About to go into my third auto policy with BrokerLink. They got me a great rate from parent company Intact, and are very knowledgeable. I travel for work and have called to ask simple questions about my policy and get small changes several times. I always am able to to talk to a human right away and get my question answered or changes made within minutes! The representatives I've talked to have always been very friendly as well. read more

Christine, the broker I sadly ended up with, was horrific. She became personal accusing me of not checking emails when she had used an old one, fought with me on the phone insisting I never told them I moved (I did which is why I am trying to cancel policy). Also quoted wrong monthly premium and oversaw the wrong amount being debited from my account TWICE leading to $90 in NSF charges. Did not offer to rectify, only said oops it was a mistake, and by the way we will be collecting the correct amount on Christmas Eve. AVOID this company at all costs!
