This place nails service, ambience, and food. Honestly, this place is just an incredible enjoyable experience. I went here with three people and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. I started with a clam chowder, that had just the right consistency with beautiful chunks of perfectly cooked potato and clam. There is absolutely no grit or sand in my clams which was wonderful. I ordered the sirloin cooked medium which came with a baked potato and sautéed vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly. The potato had a nice crispy exterior and soft pillowy inside and the vegetables were not overcooked. I do wish that they would've given a large portion for the vegetables, but I can understand them trying to keep the plates looking clean and nice. I'd say if there's one thing that was not good at this restaurant it was the complementary bread. The bread that came out had clearly been smashed down. I'm not sure if the bread came that way, or if maybe someone doesn't know how to cut bread in the kitchen. On top of that, the bread was very plain. For a fancy restaurant like this I expected something a little nicer, maybe even a sourdough. Just go ahead and skip the bread, it's not worth eating when you have so many better things to eat. We were celebrating my August birthday with friends over dinner. I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas! So flavorful and topped with loads of sour cream. My husband also enjoyed his mahi mahi dish. Cleaned up his plate! Our server Joshua was so attentive and spot on! Though we waited for awhile for our food, we enjoy coming here for meals. The lit up birthday cake and sliced up portions topped the night off! We love coming back. Of course, the view is always spectacular too! read more

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in Bend. The food was terrible and the service was worse. We had to wait forever for everything. The server must have made 12 trips to bring forgotten items for our meal. Our meal took 3 hours because of slow service. I have never had such bad service before. I will not be returning. read more

Went to Broken Too for the first time last night for Prime Rib. There aren't enough stars to tell everybody how great this meal was!! They're definitely a special dinner place, I.e. birthdays, annniversarys, graduations, proposals....suck up after making a big mistake!!!!! The setting is gorgeous as was the restaurant itself. Great wine with our meal and the prime rib (this is from someone who really never orders prime rib!!!) was unbelievably good. Also have to mention our server, Lee. Such a wonderful waiter and great guy. Wonderful representative of this restaurant or, I would imagine, any place he would ever work for!! Everyone was very nice. My wife and I got married here. It's a gorgeous location and wonderful resort, but we were lied to from day one. -We were over-charged on the night of the wedding and never refunded the overages. -At our meal presentation we were amazed by the flavor and presentation of food and during the meal at the wedding we were served literally 2 pieces of chicken and a plop of potatoes on a boring white plate. The salad presented was a cucumber and tomato toss dripping with balsamic dressing. We were served lettuce with no dressing.. NO JOKE! How horrifying right?? What do you do during the day of your wedding?? We acted polite and proper with a note to the staff that I had something to chat about afterward. They acted like we were lying to them. I WISH I would have taken pictures of the presentation!!! We were lied to and overcharged on top of that... sad sad note of our most memorable day of our lives. Beautiful place but shockingly mediocre food. We had the Thanksgiving buffet here today and when I walked in the place, I had high hopes. It's a beautiful dining room so I thought the food would be first rate. Sadly, it was not. First off, they had a few pasta salads and a waldorf salad that was swimming in dressing. I would have liked a simple, healthy green salad with field greens with less dressing. I tried the oysters and they kind of ruined the entire meal for me. Absolutely revolting. Fresh oysters taste great, not fresh oysters taste like, well, I won't go there. I really wanted to spit them out but couldn't do so gracefully. Big mistake- I should have spit it out. I'm not a turkey guy, so I had ham and it was dry and fatty. The cod was flavorless, as was the stuffing and gravy. There's only one thing I enjoyed- the pecan pie. Also, when we made the reservation, we were told there would be a kids table with mac and cheese, chicken fingers and other things kids like but there was none. I will say that the young men working there are very nice, and, as I stated earlier, it is a lovely dining room with a great view. 1 star for the food, 4 for the ambience and service. Get a new head chef and we'll be back! read more

Over the last year Broken Top has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food drinks and service are A+ the specials are changing weekly and always amazing. The Halibut is a favorite along with the crab cakes on the appetizer menu. We love the family friendly holiday events and special promotions they do such as kids eat free on Sundays. We really wanted to love this dinner. It was a special occasion, my birthday, and we wanted to try something more upscale and romantic. First of all the view was great for the 20 minutes of daylight that was left. We liked the tablecloth and cloth napkins. Our server was exceptional really. She stayed on top of everything - wine and water refills and drink orders. Very pleasant and accommodating. Best part of our experience there, really. The food was really disappointing. I had Cioppino which was bland. I've had so much better - even making it myself! There was just enough seafood in it to satisfy my hunger. If I'd been more hungry it wouldn't have been enough. I believe that meager serving was $26. It was worth about $15. It didn't come with garlic toast or anything else. Just a bowl of thin-broth soup. My partner ordered the scallop special and as soon as it came I could just see the look of disappointment on his face. It consisted of 3 scallops in a small bowl on the plate, 1/3 cup of wild rice (which he said was tasteless) and a small portion of veggies. My partner is a big guy with a big appetite. I asked him if that was enough for him and he said, "Hell no!". We both had classic Caesar salads and they came in 1/2 cup-sized bowls. Nothing at all special about their taste or presentation - $8 each.! At the end of the evening we couldn't complain because our server was so nice and attentive. We just couldn't do it, but we definitely will never be back. BTW, not many customers there for a Saturday night - kind of telling. read more

I went out there for their prime rib every Wednesday and it did not disappoint. WOW was it ever good. Juice red meat that cut with a butter knife. Cook to perfection. Great wait staff and the view out there is outstanding. Now I need to go out on steak night and check that out too. read more

The setting is great but the food is confused. The steelhead special was cooked perfectly but the bison short ribs, apparently the biggest seller, we're not what was expected. The ribs themselves were very dry and the Demi glacé, which should be drizzled over the dish and act as a supporting player, instead was literally drowning the meat, potatoes and the veggies. Overall, a disappointing experience. We had better food at the local craft brewery at lunch time. read more

Like the previous reviewer we also went here for Mothers Day Buffet and I am so glad we did! The beautiful setting and the quality food made this a fabulous Mothers Day! You cant go wrong with this special place. Guess you could see this as senior type environment, aren't all golf clubs? but that doesn't have to mean stale or boring. We have gone here before for breakfast, I had a fancy eggs Benedict that was perfect. Not sure why some of reviews from last yr gave it such low ratings. Maybe they've got a new chef since then? The food is excellent, though a bit spendy. Great wine selection, again spendy. But it's a great place to go with family and celebrate a 91st birthday. We sat next to the fireplace, which the birthday guest greatly enjoyed ("warming her old bones"). Francesco was our waiter; he is from a small town near Venice, Italy and has a heavy accent, but we greatly enjoyed his service. It was the night after Valentine's Day and he provided us with the Valentine's wine special list, so we got a bit of a discount on wines. His recommendations for meals were spot on. Highly recommend. 2 couples went for brunch today for our first time. The view was spectacular of the mountains, pond and snow which topped off the wonderful food we all had. I chose the frittada and the serving was VERY ample. I had biscuits that came with fresh fig jam and apple butter. Our server, Brady, was very attentive to all our needs and I was so surprised to learn his age, as his service is of someone twice his age. The desert was to die for and I highly recommend this place if you want a beautiful view, good service, and good food. We are not golfers at all, but found a really nice Mothers' Day brunch at their clubhouse with a great variety of food and at a lower cost than other special occasion buffets ($23 for all you can eat). Plus, the atmosphere is great with large picture windows overlooking the lake, golf course and Broken Top. Some of the food was a bit over-cooked, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Ate there last evening. Had invited some out of town guests. I told them the food was ok but the view was fantastic. I was wrong. The blinds were closed blocking the view because of the sun. We have eaten at The Broken Top Restaurant quite a few times recently, both for fine dining and also breakfasts and casual after golf meals. All have been very good. Apparently the revamping of their menu and a new chef has really turned the place around. The setting is gorgeous, what a beautiful view!!! I highly recommend it!
