I saw the Food Network Show Filmed from the Broken Arrow Ranch, and since I have never tried Antelope, Wild Boar or Venison, I decided this was my opportunity. I was concerned because Yelp had no recent reviews and some were negative about lack of communication. I decided I would try anyway. I placed the order on Sunday and it was shipped on Monday and I got it Tuesday. The packing was the best I have ever received on an online perishable order. The prices were reasonable. I order on a fairly regular basis. Mostly wild boar and wild venison. The ground wild boar is beyond comparison great. It's interesting that the meat of the boar is red while domestic pork is white? Never will I eat domestic pork again. Another item to mention is the service. I recently had a problem with one of the products on my order. I sent an email on a Sunday night and got a call from Monica from Broken Arrow the next morning. She immediately made it right and actually cared. Great product and it is backed up with service. Placed an order that was shipped to Hawaii. I called several times for assistance and recommendations and the fellow on the other end was super helpful and patient. In the end, the meat, primarily venison and elk, arrived still cool. Packaging was great and survived the journey all the way to the middle of the Pacific Ocean! Meats were delic. I recently purchased the "Ranch Wild Game Favorites for 10" as a gift for my brother from Broken Arrow Ranch. I can't yet speak to the flavor of the meat, but the meat arrived well-packaged and completely frozen in a very timely manner. The meat appears to be of great quality. Everything was done through Goldbelly, but for me that says great service on behalf of Broken Arrow Ranch. I will provide a follow up review about the flavor/quality of the meat in the future upon cooking, but in the meantime, my brother is very excited at the prospect of cooking good quality game meat. We got a gift of 5 lbs of various meats from Broken Arrow Ranch. The first we tasted so far was Antelope. One pound of meat was sliced into four thin steaks about 3/8" thick. This was strange. We had lots of wild meats all over the world and never had it cut so thin. After we cooked it very carefully not to overcook we understood why. The meat was very chewy even at that thickness, so a thicker cut would be much worse. The taste was strange as well. Just dull, not like wild meats we had in Finland, Germany and Tanzania. Maybe because it was pre-frozen or for whatever other reason. Hopefully other meats will be better, but this one enough for us to stay away from this company. read more

This is why the public is reluctant to buy on line. My 2nd time with them. I check box requesting an email alerting me my order has been sent As I order. Order never comes?! After 2 weeks I call them. They say my order was sent back due to non-pick-up. The guy quickly argued the avout the exact meaning of words,I dropped the ball. 3 days later they say we dod pur job and we are leeping your money. You never sent me an email alerting fopd was sent! If you like game meats, Broken Arrow Provides an interesting sourcing. Just outside of Austin, they have a ranch with roaming game that they harvest, unlike a normal meat processor. If youve eaten at the likes of Per Se or Qui, youve most likely had their products which was my introduction. However you don't have to be a food professional to get their product.
