    Studio 770 - Studio B Control Room

I love this place. I had a recoding that I had to do for my business and I needed it to be great…read morequality. I was concerned because I didn't know what I was doing, this was all new to me. The whole staff at Studio 770 was great and took care of all of my concerns and the product was beyond my expectations. I was thrilled with the results. I will certainly be returning for all my audio needs. I've told all my friends and they are thanking me.

770 The studio(s)…read more There seems to be nothing wrong with studio A. Meant for live recording and bands. Studio B- Studio B is a small closet recording area with the rest used for sitting space and an office. Which the owner will come and use during your session (which is not in the contract/ wasn't at the time) making it nearly impossible to record. The owner will also leave the door open allowing outside noise to travel in, thus complicating a limited 3 hour session. The owner will not remove herself if you ask, she would rather become cantankerous and tell you "that's her office she can do as she pleases", which again is not in any kind of contact (at the time). The equipment needs updating because it always crashes or it's just not cleared properly. Studio C- Is a complete joke. There are no plug ins, the computer always crashes, Brian (who is supposed to run/ co-own this studio) has more pride in the fact that all of his Apple decides are connected rather than his engineering system. I can't tell you how many times my session was interrupted by is incoming calls, that of course, he was not there to answer. Should anything go wrong with the system you will be blamed for not asking for help sooner or an untrained (in said studio) engineer for not knowing what to do. The engineers If you find yourself here please GO TO JUSTIN OR TROY. Anyone else is a waist of time, they hardly listen and want to have creative liberties without getting the artist comfortable. This studio runs through engineers like water... but it makes sense once you're there. The owner. She seems to be a very quiet woman, but do-not hold her feet to the fire, boy. She does not follow her own contacts and the outlines there in. She will become enraged, uncooperative, uncomfortable, and down right unprofessional, if you speak up against something wrong. With the way she speaks to people when shes in the wrong and cannot justify it, is in itself unjustifiable. Over all, this studio, unless this is a hobby, will drain money from you instead of enhancing what you are trying to do. Overall if I could give 0 stars I would and just leave this review.

Frank's teaching style is very open and catered to the student and he makes learning very fun and is also very encouraging especially for beginners! I would highly recommend if you're looking for a drum teacher/lessons, Frank is very helpful and knowledgeable!

I am completely dumfounded that someone could leave a negative review of Frank's efforts in any…read morecapacity, whether they be studio drumming, lessons, recording--you name it. He is a consummate professional and one of the hardest working people I have ever met in my life, who makes this look easy (doing music professionally). The only people who would leave a negative review are posers and reverse-shills. Having worked with Frank in nearly every facet, short of being taught how to play drums (I have taught with him though for years), it goes without saying for me, that he is worth every star I just gave him, because that is what he is: a star and a sun. If you don't believe that as well, it is because you reside in the shadows, where you belong. A bright star casts a dark shadow, and there you are. Frank has played on many of my songs and has recorded and engineered on more songs than I can count well beyond my meager contribution to music as an art form. You don't need to take my word for it. Try him yourself, and then one will not be speaking from a place of ignorance, in the shadows.

I cannot say enough good things about Tyrone. My review of this place is long overdue. Not only…read moredoes it have all equipment a hip hop artist needs, but Tyrone will help you grow as an artist. For many years I couldn't make the music the quality I wanted. After visiting about 6 years ago Tyrone taught me every technique with flowing, syllables and writing to make next level music. He pointed out every flaw I had and we were able to still make proper music the day I learned. I then rebooted all of my music. Even though I made music for over 10 years most of what I knew was self taught and it only got me so far. All I needed was little tweaks and it was what made all the difference for me. The Dope Spot isn't there for money, they're around to help make quality music.

The Dope Spot runs industry standard software (Pro Tools) and has an impressive mic locker to choose from. The Neuman TLM and Shure SM7B were my favs. Outboard gear is available too. This definitely isn't a neighborhood home studio . Each time I've been back, Tyrone has always taken the time to find out specifics on my session and what i would need. He also has a solid network of producers and engineers so everything i needed was either in-house, or a solid referral away.
