Worst door ever! Bought 4 identical patio doors, one leaked on day 1 of install. Had a contractor come and they tried adjusting, even went as far as completely removing and reinstalling, still leaked. Rep for the company came and ended up sending their crew and got it to stop. Within a month, it started leaking again. When contacted the office second time, they said the original fix was the doors sweep was put on wrong from the factory, but when I talked to contractors, they said there are NO sweeps on patio doors that open outward...lied to. Now they want to say house settled..now some of the other doors leaking, comes in past the door seals. Doors only about 1 year old and doubtful they will last another, very poorly built. read more

I wish I would have researched this company prior to ordering doors from them through Home Depot. We ordered 7 doors in early September 2019 and agreed to the 28 day lead time Home Depot mentioned multiple times. However, come day of delivery, we called Home Depot 3 times (at the request of Home Depot to call and check on status) only to learn late that day that no doors had arrived. After 14 more days of waiting (2 week-long delays), Masonite finally delivered the doors directly to us. The most frustrating thing about this was that Home Depot told us that Masonite will never proactively call them to warn of a delay and will only confirm such when they are contacted after a delivery window is missed. However, Home Depot mentioned verbatim that, "Masonite always has delays" and so they were not surprised. The frustration continued with door delivery... the day the doors were delivered, 4 of them were damaged beyond use or repair. Some were missing pieces of the structure while others had cracks in various places. Considering it is believed that Masonite was in possession of these doors the entire delivery, I don't know why they wouldn't have been more careful with their own product. We are now expecting our baby any day and still waiting on doors (from another company), which has increased our stress level since this has also pushed out other finishing projects that we expected to have complete already. Because of this experience, I cannot dissuade you enough from this company, even if you never work directly with them. read more

I ordered a steel door. I was told that it woul arrive at my home on 4/23/2024. This was main reason I agreed to buy the door becasue I leave for military duty on 5 June. I called Home Depot to check status and found out the delivery date had been changed to 5 June. Home Depot said they would call me back with more details. After a few days, no call back and I couldn't reach anyone at Home Deport HB to help me. I was close to cancelling order and then decided to call Masonite direct and Chloe was able to get me and update and said it will be sent on 5/28. Thank you to Chloe for being the only one who would help me. I look forward to having the door on time and installed before I leave. read more

It was funny to see a review on the same door I just purchased, the craftsman six lite, mine is without side lite. I drove a hundred and fifty miles, round trip, to pick it up at Home Dump in Reno. Got up this morning, Saturday, and the lack of quality of the door will not allow me to install it. The sill is loose and the staples holding it on did not go in, they are all bunched up on the outside of the jamb. The jamb is bowed out on the hinge side pushing the door into the room, that would look nice when you install the casing. The center hinge sticks out past the edge of the door on the exterior side. That's as far as I got before I called it a day and decided it wasn't installible. I can not guess how many doors I have installed over my near 50 years as a contractor and this is the first one I was unable to install...thanks a lot Masonite. Now, I have to wait until Monday to contact them to see what they will do about it. Explain that to the lady who was expecting a new front door today. What ever happened to companies offering a quality product. Yelp will not let me post this review without a star rating. So I picked one star but keep in mind I would pick zero if I could. read more

Horrible experience with Masonite front door. Ordered a door to be black exterior and white interior. The door arrived and the interior jams, mull post and side light trim where finished in black with my white door and white grills. When Masonite was contacted they stated that the interior jams and mull post are automatically finished the same as the exterior color even though the salesman at Home Depot called while I was sitting right there to confirm that the full interior would be white. The answer seems so absurd. Homes frequently have very colorful front doors and I am sure no one wants red, blue or green interior jams and mull posts. Masonite did nothing to help resolve this problem and the solution became my problem. After paying for a finished door it became my job to repaint my brand new door. My advice is to choose another door manufacturer as they are inflexible and claim this is the only way they can finish their doors. Horrible customer service!! read more

The company is horrible to work for. In the warehouse they'll work you to death. They don't know from day to day what shift they want you to work. There's no balance from day to day. Unorganized big mess is what to expect. Rules in the work force only apply to certain people. I'm telling you if a Union came in things would turn upside down. They also promote people that don't have a clue what's going on or are work oriented at all. If any problem arises a solution is not going to happen. There's no communication and no positive energy at all. Don't hold out for any pat on the back because that won't happen. If your willing to work hard, they'll just keep expecting more from you. I want to make clear that this review is not based on the product but strictly on my experience with the staff at this company. I bought a prehung interior door from Home Depot. I took the door home, measured and cut cut door, and then installed it. THe door worked really well and felt solid. I turned the lights on in the room and shut the door and then saw how much light was bleeding through the top corner. I opened the door and took a level to it and realized it was warped. This was fine. Frustrating, but fine. These things happen. After trying to resolve the situation with Home Depot, I was directed to speak with Masonite Warranty. I called them and the phone rang for 10 minutes. It kept prompting me to hit 2 to leave a message, press # to continue to hold, or simply hang up. No joke. They recommended I just hang up. After holding for 10 minutes, i left a message. Of course, 2 days later I did not recieve a call back. I called again and spoke to Angelica. She must hate her job. She was upset with me for filing a warranty claim and told me about the long process that I would have to endure for the $80 door. Finally I said that she could send me whatever was necessary to start the claim process. With loathing in her voice she gathered the information and said she would send the claim form. She ended the call without an apology, without a thank you for being a customer, without even a good-bye. Simply a "uh-huh"... click. Edit: I forgot to add how she tried to make sure I understood the warped door was my fault. She asked me if the door was painted. I said it was not. She said the door needs to be painted. She also told me that the door could warp if it was not painted. I told her I noticed the problem literally 2 minutes after I had installed. She then told me that if I had painted the door, the door could warp. So, from what I understand, the door could warp if it is not painted and the door can warp if it is painted and one way or another it is my fault. How are people like this given jobs that require them to speak to customers? I was not upset when I called, but I sure was when I was done speaking with her. read more

We bought a Masonite Steel and Smooth FIberglass door from them for $ 510 dollars. It was purchased and installed on or soon after September 9 2012. The handle came loose within a week. We have to tighten it periodically to make sure it does not come off every time we open the door. The hinges have come lose and we now have to lift it to get the door shut. Yesterday, the bolt locks for the top and the very bottom of the door snapped shut, leaving the whole family trapped inside the house We cannot get it to open. Our access is through the garage. I shudder to think what will happen to us should that garage door fail to open. We have no egress from the house otherwise. The situation is perilous as the law mandates more than one point of entry and exit to the house. The door is under warranty. I called the Masonite people. They promised to send me a claims form. In the meantime in the event of a fire or earthquake we shall be buried here in the house. They sell an important and life saving product -- but I am finding dealing with Masonite directly a bit of a hassle. They have as yet to send me the form as promised. Why not post a claim form on their web-site to avoid being a victim of staff incompetencies -- just a suggestion. The warranty staff could not get my name right; nor my email address. She appeared to be munching on something. The feeling I got was she could care less. Really! And get this...they have an ethics department presumably to address such concerns. This is one company that seriously needs either to close its doors firmly bolted shut for good, or revamp its customer helpline. AND I MEAN REVAMP BIG TIME. I would never ever recommend them for reliable customer and caring service. Positively a Kafkaesque company. Incidentally the door is solid -- and worthy of a good review. read more

I do not recommend this company and especially NOT the location in Moreno Valley. They cannot deliver the doors on time nor do the staff care to provide correct information when follow ups are requested for orders that have not been delivered on time. I ordered my prehung interior doors through Home Depot and was told that they should be ready in 4 weeks. Masonite failed to meet the delivery date that they showed on the order. What is worse is that prior to the delivery date, calls were placed to Masonite by Home Depot personnel just to make sure that the delivery is coming and they confirmed that yes, the shipment is coming but never actually shipped the product. The Moreno Valley location only delivers to Home Depot in Glendora on Fridays and for the 2nd Friday in a row they have failed to deliver the product. It is now the third Friday coming up and the "area sales manager" has done nothing to update Home Depot or me about the status of the doors. Some people said the doors were sitting on the dock and they did not say why it did not deliver. Another person that I accidentally reached by just randomly dialing an extension was far more helpful than the local Moreno Valley personnel. She was from the New York office and she actually told me that part of my order was not made ready until just yesterday. So all the other parties from Masonite Moreno Valley were either lying to Home Depot about the status of the order or they were just too lazy to actually physically locate the doors and find out what is holding up the order. So if you have 2 to 3 months to wait for doors, maybe you can try to order from this manufacturer. But if you have any deadlines or project dates to meet and you are in Southern California, then consider well before placing your order. The doors can be great when they arrive, but that does not matter anymore since I am too frustrated to appreciate them. read more

I purchased a Masonite exterior door with a lifetime warranty. The weatherstripping allowed water to enter the door jam causing it and the door to rot. Yes, the "Fiberglass" door is really cheap wood with a fiberglass skin. When I contacted the company the receptionist told me my door wasn't covered even before she connected me with the warranty department. She was right, once I spoke with Craig in warranty he too told me the door isn't covered. It's a poor quality product with a fake warranty in order to make the sale. Would not buy again and suggest you don't either. read more

I speak on behalf of everyone who quite during 2017 and 2018 we ran the department of so called entry which ran the fiberglass and steel doors. Listen here, these people so called supervisors and managers don't care about your doors as long as they hit so called goal. For example, if you were that person who called about their order and said that the doors only came with 2 screws for every hinge or 3 screws for every hinge, want know why that happened to your door? The employees have 69 secs to complete and door they do not care about accuracy. They just cared about getting paid. Us as employees trying to make the door as perfect and possible for every client and we are not allowed to because quantity over quality. We would get write ups for taking to long on a door trying to make it good. And we got write ups for doing something wrong because they want us to hurry. They are never happy. As a former employee I would not recommend working here unless you like getting treated like nothing. And promotions are non existent. And HR there is non existent. Door arrived with pre-bored holes set too low and not up to International building code requirements. Complained to Home Depot who in turn had the site rep inspect. He stated that holes were bored to Masonite specifications. When I questioned why they are not bored to the International building code specs, he stated that no one pays attention to the Int'l codes. They measure from the top down instead of from the finished floor up as required by the International code. Subsequently, we are stuck with door handle placement for 'little people'. Masonite will not replace the doors and neither will Home Depot accept responsibility. Suggest that anyone who is reads this review find another vendor and order without bore holes. Have your installer bore the holes on site in order to avoid this problem. read more

Worst product EVER!!! I purchased a Masonite patio door from home depot, after 1 year the wood door jam started to crack and the primer peeling. They replaced it once, then a year later it is doing the same thing. I called Masonite directly to get help and they just tell me it's out of warranty. They go from the original date the door was purchased. So Save your self some money and get a better door!! read more
