WARNING!! do not go here! I was charged for work that was never done. Went to have over $3k of work done on 12/30/21 including rear axle seals. on 5/10/23 I took vehicle in to have front brakes replaced and was informed my rear axle seals are leaking and have contaminated my rear brakes. I just left Brock's and HAVE to give a review. I dropped my car off to have my front brakes replaced. The gentleman called and asked why I thought I needed them replaced. I said I had gotten the back ones done a few months prior and I thought I heard squealing. He said well you still have about a good few more months with these I would just wait. GASP!!! I know other companies who would have just replaced them and not said a word. Ladies if you're looking for an honest place to take your car Brock's is it!!! My family has used Brocks for many years. They never fail to provide the right service in a timely manner.

Brock's charged me $89 for a diagnosis that I never received, although I had asked only for an estimate. The Jeep dealer had given me a diagnosis, but could not perform the service until a week later, so I took my vehicle to Brock's for repairs. I gave Brock's the dealer's diagnosis and asked for an estimate. Brock's called me a day or two later and said that they would need to re-diagnose the vehicle, to which I reminded them that I was only looking for an estimate based on the dealer's diagnosis. Brock's refused and threatened to hold my vehicle until I paid the $89 diagnosis fee. When I protested, the caller from Brock's decided to threaten and insult me and the person I sent to pick up my vehicle. I paid the diagnosis fee to get the vehicle back, and received two pages of a blank invoice, which contained no diagnosis at all (see posted photos). When I brought the vehicle back to the dealer to have the service performed after all, the same diagnosis was received, the replacement part installed, and all is well. When it comes to car repairs and finding a good mechanic, we all have a lot in common: 1. We want someone that is honest 2. We want someone that won't sell us repairs we don't need 3. We want someone that won't overcharge us 4. We want someone that will stand behind their work I have found this to all be true about Brock's Car Care. There are two parts to my story... PART ONE: My daughter noticed that her Mini Cooper was "clicking". We checked the serpentine belt and noticed it was literally coming apart. I called the local Mini dealer in League City and was given a quote of $240+ dollars. When I called Brock's, they said without looking it up, it would roughly be $100.00. I'm no math whiz but that seems like a substantial difference. I took it to them. Before they did any work, they called me and gave me an exact quote (I don't recall the exact quote but it was around $120). I authorized the work and they completed it the same day at a cost MUCH less than the dealer. Her Mini has been running smoothly since that day. PART TWO: I also took my GMC truck to them for an A/C repair. They asked be several specific questions to help narrow down the problem. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty/leaking compressor, which is not an inexpensive repair. I authorized the repair. They fixed it and the AC was blowing cold...for a week. I noticed when I turned my AC on, the compressor was making a noise that sounded like the bearings in the new compressor were going out. I called them and told them about the problem and how the recent repair did not work. I also told them I would not be able to bring it back to them for at least a couple of weeks because of my travel schedule. They offered to fix it again and just keep it until I returned to minimize the time I had to be without my truck. Since it is not a daily driver, I opted to simply take it back to them after I got back into town. What they discovered is that the new (not rebuilt or used) compressor they had installed was faulty out of the box. They stood behind their work and replaced it again at no cost. It's been blowing cold ever since. Same truck/second verse: My truck is an older truck. When it was new, I had an aftermarket alarm system and kill switch installed that was starting give me problems. They were able to remove both the alarm system and kill switch and return my truck to factory settings so I could use the original door remotes that I still had and still worked. This was done for roughly $100. Same truck/third verse: While it was there having the alarm removed, I also told them that my brakes seems "soft". I really didn't think the master cylinder was bad because the brakes were still working but didn't seem firm enough. They stated that unfortunately, that is a common complaint for my year truck and that they would check it out but may not find anything wrong with it. They did a brake inspection and checked the master cylinder and reported back to be that their was nothing wrong with my brakes and that it was exactly as they expected...simply soft brakes that others complain about in my year model GMC. Total cost was $0. With all that being said, I have found Brock's to be fair, honest, and dependable. I don't think you can ask for much more when looking for a mechanic. I went by there to see if they would check my battery because I kept smelling rotten eggs... after I flagged someone down who seemed very agitated with me... he told me to go to auto zone! The manager of this shop, who said his name was "Donnie," gave me a quote over the phone for an oil change, but when I arrived for the appointment, the counterman gave a slightly higher price. The amount, after factoring in sales tax, was about $4.00 higher than it should have been. It wasn't much, obviously, but to me there was a principle at stake, so I asked for an explanation. Was there a "shop fee" or some other hidden charge? "That's just what it costs!" he said, impatiently, and repeated it again when I said I'd written down Donnie's quote and the prices didn't match. At that point he called Donnie into the office. I said "Are you the gentleman I talked to the other day? I'm just wondering why these prices don't match. Unless you can explain it, I think you should honor the quote you gave me." At that point, he said "It's only $4.00! Goddamn! If you're going to be that hard to get along with, you can go somewhere else!" and with that, he handed me back my truck keys! I was dumbfounded! All I could say was "Really?" "Yeah!" he says, and motioned for me to leave. I just shook my head and walked out. I'd never seen Donnie there before, but I'm sure the counterman recognized me as having been there several times. What an ingenious way to treat a regular customer: refuse to honor a quote, turn away his business, and forfeit all his future business in the process--over four dollars! Way to shoot yourself in the foot, smart guy! Thankfully, this incident, which happened about 9 months ago, turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I found a much better auto repair shop nearby, Christian Brothers in Friendswood, and have been trading there ever since. They've been 100% honest and professional, and their customer service is as good as it gets--the exact opposite of Brock's. So thanks, Donnie! You did me a huge favor, after all. I rented a storage unit next to Brocks at Public Storage. I lost my key and asked the office at Public Storage to come cut the lock off so I could put on a new one. I was told that only the manager can cut off a customer's lock and she was in Houston. I had movers that were to meet me at the unit in about 15 minutes to move the contents to another Storage facility that is cheaper. I was going to have to reschedule the move altogether when I thought I would check and see if Brocks would allow me to use a pair of bolt cutters.. The owner Donny said "no problem" and lent me a pair of boltcutters which did the trick and I was able to continue my plans to move the storage items as planned! read more

I dropped my car off last week to see what a popping sound was. Many hours later they called and told me I needed my struts replaced and the strut mount replaced, and that the control arm bushings were worn and could be replaced as well. All totaling about $1,056. If I just got struts and mounts replaced it would be about $756. I said I'd wait and drove two hours to my parents mechanic of 20+ years in Bay City and he said none of the above needed replaced and that there were just some lose bolts on the brakes from a previous brake job by someone else. $80, done deal. He said on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being "it needs replaced now," ONE of my struts was a 1. Honesty and hard work brings customers. This place was just trying to rip me off. read more

Friendly people, very nice waiting room, but way over priced. My wife's ignition switch needed replacement and they charged us over $600 to replace it. I checked with my regular mechanic who is also very friendly, but not so nice a waiting room who gave me an estimate of $237. My wife likes the place because it's close to her work, but for $363 she can drive 20 miles to my mechanic's not so nice waiting room in a more blue collar part of town. read more

This business is great. I called about my A/C and they told me to have it in at 7:00 A.M. on Friday an they would give me an estimate. I was there at 6:50 and they took my truck right back to give me an estimate. When I told them to do the work and I would call my sister to come and pick me up the gentleman said "wait a minute" and he went out to the shop. He came back and said if I could wait until 9:00 it would be ready. I said OK and I waited. It was 8:30 and I was out of there. They are professional, courteous, honest and they really know how to do their jobs. I will go back to get my brakes done when it is time. I recommend them highly. They were wonderful and took care of my car when it had stopped working completely. They were very polite and helped me get my car towed to the shop. The only issue I said that I had was that it wasn't starting and they did resolve that issue, I just wish they would have asked more questions because then I would t have had to take it to another shop three days later when my engine light came on from likely the same original issue. I went to this place to fix my car , guy over counter told me that he will give me call in couple of hrs for estimate ,and he did call me on time , he told me problem and estimate for a certain amount then I said ok .next day I went to shop and asked about problem that what was wrong because before I went to other shop and he rip me off with different problem, I felt the guy was little rude to discuss with me for some reason even though I was satisfy with their service and no concern about their service ,there was another guy sitting next to him ,I even did not talk with him suddenly he start call me names big time and I was very surprise because I did not say anything bad to anybody there and he asked to get out of property and never come back ,I felt very disgrace for no reason but I did not say anything to him , so If you want to go there be prepare to be in that kind of position ,I think he was owner of the business. read more

Few months back took my car to another repair shop and after 6 trips to this other shop, car was in worst condition then when I took in the 1st time...they wanted me to bring it in for a 7th time I told no way and as soon as I can I was taking it to Brock's so they could fix my car correctly...finally took it in and they took super car of my car.... car is a plan jane 2003 Ford Focus and the crew at Brock's keeps it running in tip top shape for me!!!!! read more

I've been here a couple of times now and always walk away feeling like I got a fair deal.

Had a break job (front pads and rotors replaced) done in mid-October and discovered bumping noises happeded after the service was done. Returned with the vehicle to have it checked again and they found no issues. The bumping continued so I thought it might be a suspnsion issue and brought my vehicle to a dealership where they found the rotors were not installed properly. I called and mentioned this to Brock and they asked to see the vehicle again. I declined becuase I have no confidence that they can recognize and fix a problem a third time. I caution anyone getting their brakes serviced at this establishment. read more

I used Brock's Car Care in Webster for over 10 years for personal vehicle service and, in my opinion, a better all-around repair facility doesn't exist. They are friendly, go out of their way to be helpful and most important, to me, they are honest. Not one time have I felt that I received anything other than precisely what I needed. A few weeks ago, my wife and I were on the way to dinner when her Infiniti just quit running literally in the middle of the road. While I performed my own repairs years ago, working on a car today is like rocket science to me. Of course I understand the fundamentals but actually performing repairs is something I simply cannot do. We had the car towed to Brock's Car Care and I expected that hundreds of dollars would be necessary to get the thing running again. The following day, when Dennis called, I was greatly relieved. The serpentine belt had failed. Since the car has traveled around 65,000 miles and is 5 years old, I should have had the belt replaced long ago. This is an example of Brock's honesty. They could have told me that something very expensive was required but I paid for replacement of both belts and was on my way. My wife and I own a business and depend on Brock's to service our 4 company cars and they always do their best to provide minimum time turnaround because they understand that when a car is out of service my business suffers. I only trust my vehicles to Brock's, they are fair and honest. If something doesn't need to be done, then they don't do it and most times won't charge. PROFESSIONAL QUALITY SERVICE AND REASONABLE PRICES! I brought my 2002 Tahoe in 30 minutes before closing and the mechanic was very profesional and patient, he even test drove my Tahoe and diagnosed the problem right then. The gentleman behind the counter went ahead and ordered the replacement part. The next day everything happened like BROCK'S said it would. They called us and my wife took the Tahoe in to be repaired. BROCK'S was even nice enough to give her a ride home rather than making her wait at the shop. The mechanic got right on the repair and later that afternoon my wife got a call that the Tahoe was ready. No delays and no excuses. BROCK'S sent a car to pick up my wife at home. The bill was very reasonable. No hidden fees We are on a limited income and the bill was affordable. BROCK'S did not try to sell us a tire alignment or anything else we didn't ask for. I would recommend this auto shop over the others in the area. No, I'm not a relative of Mr. Brock and this is not a planted review. My review is sincere and honest! Very happy with recent service. We had to bring in our Expedition when it suddenly started misbehaving. They were friendly, communicated well and were up front on possible complications in fixing the problem. The fix was affordable and done in a very reasonable time. With having had a good experience decided to take our other vehicle that had no AC for 3 years (yes in Texas...not fun!) We had previously been quoted by another Friendswood business but the cost and intrusive nature (remove the dash and components) of the recommended repair caused us to delay the fix. After we took the car to Brocks they re-diagnosed the problem and found an entirely different problem....and nearly half the cost of my original quote. Wishing I had taken it to Brock's 3 years ago.
