Great venue for sports events! Attended my first roller derby bout last night and I can't complain about anything. Fun times!

Updated a former 5-star review for May 2024…read more I'm still a fan of the Club Prep project. I like its goals and enjoy its affordability. That said, my personal recommendation is that if you happen to end up on one of the volleyball teams coached by the head of the volleyball league (who I won't name here, NOT GENE.), you should run, not walk, to another team. Our experience this past season or two was that he was largely an absentee coach, delegating his Club Prep teams to other parents while he focuses on his club teams. Says playing time is merit-based, but fails to carry out that promise by maintaining loyalty to players he previously knows. The roles and playing time of these players are never questioned or in doubt, regardless of performance. Never considered developing new players into certain roles on the team that would threaten the playing time of some of the long-timers. Most everyone else is shoehorned into the few remaining positions, where playing time becomes very scarce. This is not club level, nor is it high school. There is simply no reason for every player to not get some kind of defined role on the court on game days, including tournament games. This was just our experience. The coach you get can either make or break your experience. It put a very bad taste in our mouths this past season and ruined what was previously a very positive experience in the league.

It has large fields with fun backdrops, an indoor restaurant with seats by the window so you can enjoy the game with air conditioning on those hot AZ days, and indoor bathrooms! They also serve beer, including a couple of craft beers on draft. That was exciting to me because I've never been able to drink a beer while watching a girls' softball tournament. I got a hazy IPA from Four Peaks, along with chicken tenders and fries. The chicken was good. Fries were lightly battered, which is not my preference, but they were still pretty good. Finished my food inside, but went back out to the stadium seats because you can't hear the game from inside, so it wasn't as exciting to watch. Notes: -For any tournaments hosted by outside organizations (not the town of Gilbert), there is a $5 fee at the gate for non-Gilbert residents age 16 and over. They do ask to see ID. -Online it says no food or drink allowed, except for water.

There is shade, a playground for kids, and a Sports bar (2 total) with hamburgers, hotdogs, pretzels, nachos, and pizza. There was plenty of parking as well. One of my favorite places to go watch baseball and softball games. Note: The place could use some maintenance as the backdrops for some of the fields have faded and the scoreboards didny work. However, it is still a nice place overall!

Apparently, they said someone will reach out to me via email when upcoming leagues will start but I haven't received ANY information regarding the leagues I signed up for and what team I am put on. I have never had an experience like this in my life, this has got to be the worst sports social club I've ever tried to join due to the lack of communication. Meanwhile, I just looked and there are new leagues that just started for both sports I signed up to join and never got any response from this organization. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on this and find another organization to join. What a joke. I will be letting my friends know when they move out here who are also very sports minded to not go through these guys. What a joke.

On three different nights, the game schedule was changed last minute and without an email notification to the players. This meant that we either missed the game or were left sitting around for 1-2 hours for the updated timeslot. Second, the website does not specify when spots are full for a given league and season, and AZ Sports League still takes payment for leagues that are already full. If signing up for a league that is starting soon, be aware that you may lose your money or be put in a league 3 months down the road.

I met with Coach Bettina and shyly explained what I wanted to do and understanding maybe I couldn't do it. Bettina not only assured me I could, but it would be great! She was right! With her training and guidance and her never-ending encouragement and positive energy, I completed my first Half Ironman and Racelab is guiding me to my first Ironman this year. Coach Bettina has designed a training schedule that meets the needs of my busy life with a full-time job and another sport in which I compete. All the other athletes accepted me right away and made me feel comfortable and included. From training at ASU track, to racing in Rocky Point, Mexico, we always have fun while getting faster, stronger and better. This team and coaches all care about each other and Racelab really is my second family.

I ran on my own just copying online stuff and finished my first full marathon good but physical burned out. Then I found Racelab, I called Bettina and despite my off schedule working every weekends during that time, she wrote specific plans for me to complete my fastest full, the Chicago Marathon. Since then, no turning back I have completed 12 marathons, 3 ultras and I'm training to be a triathlete. Let me tell you, training with a group like Racelab is amazing. There are days in your training that you feel high and lows physically and emotionally but with the coaches and members so supportive of each other, the mood changes to being motivated. I always look forward for our group activities whether it is swim, bike or run. I love my Racelab family, they keep me HAPPY!

Specific to the Gilbert/Mesa league…read more Great Experience - My son has been playing flag football and basketball with i9 since 2018, and I've coached most of his teams. Our experience with the organizers and refs have almost always been great, and the few exceptions were understandable and/or dealt with. The coaches are all volunteer parents - so you get out of it what you put into it. If you don't like how the team is run, you should volunteer and try a season yourself... you just might love it! If your coach is not playing every kid pretty close to equally, let them know, and let the league office know. If they don't set this expectation on day one, ask! You should be able to switch teams. Coaches in this league who don't spread it around need to hear it from parents and/or get the boot. If you think that your kid is the next LeBron or Barry Sanders, go put them in a hyper-competitive league and see how they do. As a coach, I know that the parents have entrusted me with their kids to give them a chance to play and have fun. If I win every game but only played 5 kids, I failed. If I lose every game, but every kid had fun AND still wants to play again, then I succeeded. Any coach who can't say the same needs to go manage a fantasy football team or something and leave the coaching to those of us who will do the job correctly. Sadly, we are aging out this year so we won't get to keep playing after this season.

Every week a kid from the team earned a medal for a special characteristic that they brought to the team. That is why I chose i9 for my younger son . Same age , same program My son did NOT even have a COACH this year. Every week, parents would just have the kids take turns batting off the tee until the game started. No communication , no staff reaching out to try to fix the situation. It was like I paid 200$ to i9 so that I could take my son to a park. I have zero clue how i9 would do nothing to support an entire team . I am disappointed and I will be sure to steer any parents looking for a quality program away from I9.
