Four stars since I have had no bad experiences here yet it is not some out of the ordinary or strikingly zazzy experience. Yes, I said zaz. This is my back up for Mill Creek in McKinleyville since McKinleyville is closer and is a touch nicer in terms of experience. It is just nice to have Broadway as a back up. Great place to see movies! I go about 2 X per month if the films are good. Even tho I have cable and Netflix, being 'at the movies' can't be beat! I rarely purchase anything from the concession stand as it is quite expensive for junk food, however I do belong to the 'frequent movie" club, and get things for free every so often, which is nice. read more

She came back and said "that makes me worried, they changed the sign and it says Shawn the sheep is playing in here now ". We waited a little longer and to accommodate the three people whom came to see that movie earlier and it canceled they canceled Pixels and left us to hang. Now after paying for some over priced candy and soda all we got were movie tickets that are good for three months. Not to mention they have the gall to check mark there only good for a 2d movie. As the only movie theater in Eureka, there is not much choice. I find this theater a bit bland and sometimes a little grungy, but OK overall. Have had mixed experiences here--sometimes it's been fine. The last time I went, the picture was jiggly and there was a creaking sound (maybe the ventilation?). My friend and I decided it was too distracting to watch the movie, so we complained, and the employees said they knew about the problem. If so, I wonder why they did not close that particular screening room or fix the problem rather than selling tickets to a show that was going to be sub-par due to these technical problems? At least they gave us free passes for another movie. read more

Nasty bathroom, unbearable! I'm not picky or a neat freak, but it never gets cleaned. The sound is way way too quiet, my tv is louder. I could hear chewing over the movie. The theaters don't get dark enough either. There was one person in line in front of me, true to humboldt style, the clerk was in no rush... I have a movie to catch here people!!! Obviously the worker didn't care or didn't know the movie times. It's way under staffed. Screw it, I'm sneaking in nxt time rather than giving my 20$ to another humboldt buissness that rips people off and is disgusting, just because ppl have no other theater in eureka to go to. I've gone to this theater many times. Sometimes, it's fine. You pay quite a bit of money for a mediocre experience, but, with no other movie theaters in Eureka, it's the best you can get. However, if you want to go to a midnight premiere there, don't even bother. The theater is not prepared to handle the mass of people, they don't think ahead, they don't plan ahead, and they royally screw the pooch every chance they get. After waiting seven hours for my movie, I walked into a packed theater. Why? Because they didn't think ahead, oversold tickets, and then didn't warn anyone that they had given a whole other group of people priority seating. Oh, and the 3D reel went out, so they showed it in 2D but didn't tell us, so we spent several minutes trying to figure out why our glasses weren't working. This isn't the only time something like this has happened. They've spent an hour and a half trying to get a single reel to work, the audio has stopped working, the movie has stopped in the middle of the most climactic scene, and sometimes they decide to comp you the tickets for that. Sometimes, you're just SOL. Though at least most of the time there's barely any business and you're practically alone in the theater. Not worth it. Go to Arcata to the Minor theater, go to McKinleyville, go to Fortuna (where sometimes there's no one there to sell you tickets, so you can just walk in!); if it's something important, don't take your chances with Broadway. read more

The price is good, but the experience is bad... Granted, the price to see a movie here is under what one would pay in a real city, and they offer bottled water for their customers, but the manager and employees are exceedingly slow to do their jobs and the concessions people are pretty much inept from what I can tell. I went there tonight to see the Land of the Lost movie and had to sit through roughly 10 minutes of commercials before the previews ran, and not the latest previews either? What's up with that. The sound was supposedly "Dolby Stereo", but was poor at best. Bring in a serious employee with a decent knowledge about the technology they are running please! And any, ANY, movie theater that allows customers to bring pre-teens and infants into a PG-13 movie needs a SERIOUS kick in the pants! I was surrounded by parents trying to explain basic plot lines to their children and crying babies through the entire movie! The female manager was kurt, rude, and unfriendly... I was on vacation when we stumbled upon this theater and decided to check out a flick. The prices for tickets and snacks was very reasonable. Compared to the higher prices of the Bay Area. So that was a plus. However walking In was a bit confusing. As to where to buy the tickets. We figured out after asking that you buy your tickets at the snack bar with everything else. The place was empty so it felt a little creepy. The seats in the theater were comfy. But after walking in the door s of the actual theater and the smell of butter disintegrated. There was an awkward smell. Kinda like piss but not. IDK!!! It bothered at first till the movie started and then I forgot about it. Thank god. I am tired of missing movies because my local Coming Attraction Theatre does not get some movies.Right now they don't have The Dead don't Die in the theatre, it was released on June 14 and it is only being played at one theatre in southern Oregon. I know of 2 to 3 dozen people who are bit zombie movie fans and are now going to miss it in theatre's because only one theatre has it playing once. This cinema is old and there was not a lot of parking, but they had movies and in this small city it gave an option for something to do.

Not many theaters to chose from in Humbolt, but this is as good as any I have been to. Aside from the size not being as big or fancy everything her seems like an normal movie going experience. Being in this town i really did not have any expectations for this movie theater. It looks cute on the outside and as I found out recently it is also nice looking inside. It is weird that you purchase movie tickets at the concession stand though. For people like me who do buy popcorn at the movies, it is fine but I cant imagine waiting on this line for just movie tickets! I saw Hercules in non 3d and the theater is nice and clean with a graduated stadium which is the only thing i ask for. It is not a huge theater but big enough to have a good experience. The popcorn needs more salt and butter. the bathroom had 5 out of 9 stalls out of order! But i am definitely returning! read more

Pretty much the only game in town. Good: lots of theaters in this multi-plex. Bad: they often make you wait in the snack bar line to buy movie tickets. Come early as it's often packed. And they don't show you a list of movies to choose from at the snack bar so hopefully you remember all the details- name and time- when you go to buy tickets. Once I sat in the theater waiting for the movie to come on for 30 minutes past the time it was supposed to start. They ended up playing the showing late but gave us a make-up ticket. read more

We went to see Ant-man there. They did not sell tickets outside. Inside they did not have a designated person to sell tickets. The two people behind the counter were selling tickets, popcorn and sodas. This created unnecessary waiting time for us since we did not want to buy any snacks. I only go to this theater because it might offer a movie that isn't showing at the Mill Creek theater, my theater of choice. The Broadway theater is usually real cold,stinky, with soiled seats. The floors have been sticky from a feeble attempt to clean up fountain drink spills or ? Movie-mates and I have switched seats due to stickiness, the odor under foot,odorifous seats and broken or sagging seats. This popcorn lover knows without a doubt concession popcorn is last nights corn to we noon movie goers. I bought a bag without a thought that the popcorn would be stale. Stale popcorn is flat w/out any fluff that has a distinct taste something like unflavored cardboard bits. Who can you trust?The expectation when one approaches the concession stand is that to offer yesterdays popcorn for the price of a down payment on a house(well pricey) is absurd!!! I do mind that there isn't freshly popped popcorn and a clean facility for the price of admission. this is a samll community that loves to cozy up to a good movies on a rainy day.Why doesn't the corporation spring for funding to repair or replace broken seats and maintain the facility and pay folks to come in early to pop a fresh batch of popcorn for the early shows? read more

There is nothing about this theater that gives you a "Going to the Movies Experience." Ever since Coming Attractions theater bought the Minor Movie Theaters it has really gone downhill. The company used to put out a monthly playbill of all of the upcoming showings. Also, the price of tickets isn't listed on their website. read more

This place has gone so downhill since we were last there a few years ago. The lady's bathroom contains black mold, and it's obvious that the mold has been growing for a long time. The stalls don't have latches, etc. My husband said the men's room is even worse! We walked to our movie on worn out carpets that looked like they haven't been cleaned in years. The seats were old and uncomfortable, and the theater we were in smelled bad. There's just an over-all feeling like they've completely given up. But they haven't given up on greediness, because they charge top dollar for their viewings. We drove from Fortuna and paid $2.50 more than we pay there. It was definitely NOT WORTH IT. The Fortuna theater is always clean, courteous and comfortable, so we will stick with them from now on. Our experience was so unpleasant that I can't see us ever going to Broadway Cinema again. It's hard to imagine them even staying open much longer with the level of disrepair the place has fallen into. read more

Up from the Bay Area I was looking forward to a little relaxation and fantasy immersion in a good movie. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong theater. Going into a small, stuffy screen room (#7) at the Broadway Cinema, I was hoping that the movie's sights and sounds would make up for the uncomfortable room temperature. Not happening! The sound system was so bad that my wife and I could barely make out the dialog. And the rich Dolby sounds I was expecting from an action flick (Ant Man) was dead and almost monaural. So, I trip back to the person who looked to be in charge (you, know, the one who runs around with a wallow-talkie) and was told that someone would look into the sound problem but that nothing could be done about the temp condition. Never happened. Would have walked out or asked to see the Manager but didn't want to miss even more of the movie. So, I endured. Not a good movie-going experience. Guess I'll have to find that back in the Bay Area. read more

Nice theater, but could be better. The staff is usually friendly, and the theaters themselves are what you would expect (not really messy, but not super clean), but they don't always have the current movies. They tend to be hit and miss on what they get/show, and the staff doesn't know (or can't say) what they will or won't be getting/showing, especially for advanced showings. Not sure if this is the staff, or the head offices, but either way it deserves mentioning in the review. read more

This is the only theater in town, I took my kid to see her first movie today and when I asked where our movie was playing a young female working there not only didn't answer the question, she insulted the press tattoo on my daughter's arm and went back to talking to her gaggle of other loafer employees hanging out. I took my three kids to the movies and spent 60 bucks on the tickets and three drinks. A large freeze was 6 bucks large fountain drink 6 bucks (which probably cost the theater 30 cents). The seats in the theater are broken down and uncomfortable. The bathrooms are disgusting missing tiles with mold under the broken ones. Half the stalls are broken or over flowing, some didn't have locks on them. The place is fairly busy and with all the money they are ripping off from people from the high ticket prices to the high food prices you would think they could fix the place up. I took my three year old niece to watch Cinderella last year when I was babysitting her (thinking it was a cartoon like movie) they had no kid price so I paid full price for my 3 year old niece to not watch the movie, seems like they would have a kid price depending on age like 5 bucks. I took my 14 year old daughter and 10 friends to the theater for her birthday and the only birthday package would make a 6 year old happy seems like they could hire someone for marketing the needs or wants of the guests. Also they have a rewards card, my reward from all the times we went there including the birthday party was a small popcorn, it should be buy 10 times get 1 free, at least. The theaters in McKinleyville and fortuna are so much nicer, Broadway could learn something from them. read more
