With that said, I've noticed several cost cutting changes over the years that I'm not thrilled about. The meat department used to have a traditional butcher counter, which made it easy to get the exact amount of black forest bacon I needed. This is now gone and replaced with pre-packaged cuts. Bulk bacon is no longer offered, and shopping for meat now creates more plastic waste. Recently, the deli counter was replaced with pre-portioned servings. This move might make sense but is not a great sign of for the future of this store. I'm glad the sandwiches have been spared, especially since I eat those pretty frequently. Lastly, the pizza situation is lacking. Maybe something's up with the heat lamps, but slices tend to dry out and are incredibly unappetizing. The only way you'll get a good piece is if it just came out of the oven. This is not an issue at other PCCs, where the pizza is in good shape throughout. Overall, still love shopping here but I hope my PCC's best days are ahead.

My lunch today is my favorite vegan pesto pizza in which the crust has the best crunch. The olives and artichokes provide a nice balance to the nutty puréed sauce. If I close my eyes I don't imagine it being vegetation. Lastly, I'm drinking a dram brand sparkling water with lavender. In a city in which vegetarian options are skyrocketing, this was only $21. Quality, quality and quality every time at PCC. Service is always exceptional. I apologize for sounding judgy but some Safeway and QFC stores are dirty, they may smell, and the quality of food "for higher prices" is sub par. Some staff at these stores seem really overworked and not content. At PCC, staff look like they want to be here and are always happy to help. Great job PCC.

I've been coming here for a few years now and then I left the city but whenever I do come back, I make sure to make a pit stop here. Why? Work is right next door to it. So that helps. But also, I feel like the veggies and fruits here are fresh, crisp, and tastier than other places. However... I do feel like prices are a bit higher than last time I was here a couple of months ago. They have parking in the back. It's small and getting in and out alive is a miracle each time. But it exist. If you elect to park on the street, parking enforcement is out everywhere and so be weary. I like their hot bar and salad bar. Always a rotation of items that keeps it busy interesting over time. What I don't think they are good for is snacks. Sometimes I just want something simple and not healthy and this place ain't it. I think this place is better for medium size shops.

The store is nicely laid out, very similar to a Whole Foods. The produce is where the entrance is and I like how each time I've come the produce is being looked over, stocked and someone is on standby for questions about the availability of things in that area. There is a seafood counter that is usually attended by a couple of people then the aisles are horizontal with the registers. There is self-checkout with someone managing that and a few manned registers. The staff in this area always nice and helpful. Which as a given is really nice. The store seems to be well staffed overall, but you'll likely have to have to go toward the front end if any help is needed seeing as how the store is so neatly and well stocked. I don't really see staff stocking in the middle of the day.
