Currently on the interior walls are community quilts, and they lead to the older library built in 1902 (I'm pretty sure I remember that date correctly). This portion has the Library of Things and pillars! The newer portion has many, many books. It's very historical and very cool.

Love this place! I do a LOT of reading, and I like actual books, so I'm here minimum of once /…read moreweek. Plus there are computers, movies, newspapers.... The new director, Lois, is a vet and well-credentialed. She's instituted some positive and fun changes in a short amount of time. Taken down most of the plexiglass erected during COVID, allowed staff to be creative (see pic on book return slot, as one example), brought back newspapers, is bringing back game night, to name a few of the many recent things. Staff is always helpful and friendly. And check out the pic of this week's cool message. I didn't snap last week's, which was: Dinosaurs didn't read Dinosaurs are extinct Coincidence?? I love this library because they have a lot of books that I like to read as well as cool events…read morelike art exhibits and book sales. The biggest pro is that they have an ongoing bookstore inside the library that the Friends Of The Library own and they're open on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings. There's also a free book section in the lobby as well. There's some cool monthly book displays as well as self-checkout station, scanner, chairs to sit, computers, clipping seed display and many more. There's also a really nice Children's room. The librarians are really nice people and they're helpful. The library services are exceptional.

It's a really cool effect, don't get me wrong, but it almost feels like they crashed into each other. The library is full of books, both in the old and new sides. The front (even though parking is on the side and in back) looks beautiful and houses work computers. In October, they had a find the Snoopy game, which was delightful! I got a book mark prize, it was Halloween-tastic!

I've been a patron of this library since 2011, when I was briefly employed in this town. All the…read morelibrary staff are very professional and usually there will be someone on staff knowledgeable about your concerns. The environment is calm and peaceful, with sealed glass group activity rooms for which to carry on without distraction to patrons. The restrooms are male - female separated by 30 feet, well ventilated, paper supplied and clean. The computing stations are powered by up to date Dell Inspiron small computing networked hardware. Wifi is sluggish though rated at gigabit speed, with average password security; however, the hardline backbone network is fast with very little downtime. Printer services are expensive and require mild technical expertise and paper stock is not premium either. Parking is adequate with an allowable overflow into the adjacent strip mall. I enjoy this place.

What a great library!…read more It's a newer building, modern architecture and very flowing. They've got a peaceful adult reading room upstairs and quite a few computers. The location of the library is great too- right in East Longmeadow center. There's a Starbucks right in the plaza Their children's room and programs are WONDERFUL. Miss Jennie and the other librarians are so helpful and creative! They've got tons of holiday programs, the summer reading program, and always are involved in the community. The library is also an attractive space where there are always people reading and sometimes doing picture puzzles. Oh, and the staff are always ready to help those of us less skilled in using the search system on the computers. All in all, a great place and a great staff.
