Haircuts used to cheer me up about as much as pubescence. Mangled and misunderstood, I'd drift from salon to salon, searching for someone who wouldn't make me look (and feel) like a freak. At last, my lost years have come to an end! I now face the mirror minus spasms of angst, thanks to Brittany. She has the chops to coax my fly-away frizz into textural locks, the vision to translate my cartoon character clippings into flattering looks, and charm that never fails to make me feel like an old friend. There's no such thing as an ugly duckling---only stylists who just don't get it. read more

What can I say about Brittany that hasn't already been said about waffles? She's sticky sweet, consistently awesome, and, most importantly, always there when you need it. Also: You know when you eat waffles, and you want to do it alone? Secluded. Just the two of you. Yes. You get that with her. Because she has her own space. Where it's cozy and beautiful. And you get one-on-one attention. Something you won't get anywhere else. But clearly Brittany is more than waffle. Actually, she's isn't one. She's a person. An amazing, caring and very talented one at that. And that's why you should book an appointment with her. Now. read more

I was referred to Brittany by a coworker and THRILLED with her services!! I needed a makeover and Brittany gave me more than I was expecting. I came in a blonde and I left a brunette with an awesome touch of red! The color is a perfect skin-eye color match and is flawless. Per her advice we went with a semi-permanent so I could feel out the new look and I'm in love! If you're looking for a non-judgmental, friendly, sweet stylist, Brittany is your girl. I found my permanent San Francisco stylist! Thank you Brittany! read more

+ Easy online scheduling. + Super sweet return voicemail saying I can bring dog-child to my appointment. + Adorable and cool salon digs. + Really listening and responding to my hair concerns. + Very reasonable prices. I can't say enough good things about Brittany. This was my first time with her, but the reviews from others who have known her longer still resonate. Hands down the best haircut I've had in years. read more

If I could give Brittnay 6 stars, I totally would. Her space is sooo cute and she is amazing at hair! She's open, honest, and totally knows what she is doing. The products she uses is top of the line - made my dye job look totally natural and healthy. No frizzies here! I am going to go to her forever! Thanks Brittnay! read more

I hesitate to write this for fear Brittany gets too popular and I can never get an appointment, but just can't contain myself. On top of offering great cuts, her hair studio is warm and inviting like a living room and she's great to chat with. She includes free bang trims between cuts and allows online booking. I've always hopped around from place to place but am truly settled in with Brittany. read more

My girl Brittany has moved over to the Pirate Salon, which is another cool small salon with a fun decor. Brittany continues to be the #AWESOME hair stylist I love and respect. She's just the sweetest person, a great listener, and bubbly. I plan to try out some rainbow coloring at this salon soon too. Will update when I do. read more

Wow. Amazing. My first haircut with Brittany has been the best haircutting experience I have ever had. Not only is the ActivSpace a lovely and relaxing space, but she has her little hair studio all cutely decorated with a bad ass chair that reclines to the sink where she washes your hair. Smooth. So comfortable! (i usually hate having my hair washed at salons because the sink hurts my head). Brittany is fantastic. She listened so attentively to what I wanted and what I do with my hair and did an amazing job in ensuring that she met those needs. The "mermaid" hair I wanted she achieved beautifully and styled it exactly how I would have wanted. I use to hate it when stylists would style my hair cos they would blow dry it out into an overstyled, unnatural look that didn't suit me at all and made me feel weird. I usually have to settle into liking a haircut, but I instantly loved it and still do. You should know that I am SOOOOOO picky about haircuts. Brittany is also really genuine and fun to talk to. She's awesome. She's been doing hair for 8 years and is so talented in her craft. Very reasonable rates too. The only thing to know is that the main (not-so-obvious) entrance is on Treat St and you buzz her. I recommend bringing her number so you can call her in case you don't get through on the buzzer (she might be blow drying the client before you's hair and might not hear or something). If you're looking for a relaxing setting to get the best haircut you've ever had that doesn't have cheesy house music bumping in the background of a hectic salon, then you have found your lady. Look no further, Brittany is the ONE!!!! read more

best stylist/hairdresser I've ever been to. a cool part of town, even cooler shop space, and even cooler cooler gal. we talked about bike messenger culture and organic gardening. more importantly, Brittany was on the ball with making sure the cut was what I wanted while still having an opinion on where to go. she recreated a grown-out cut, but better (ordinarily a challenge on very fine, very sunbleached blonde hair). she cared enough to ask if I'd like it shampooed (and didn't flinch when I said I was trying to preserve my natural oils) and ensured that I play with my hair to see how it'd naturally situate itself before considering the cut finished. finally, to best approximate how I usually do my hair she put me under the hood instead of blow drying it. all of this in a super chill setting (no more having to listen to other stylists gossip with their clients!!) and for a cheaper rate than most. will return. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Brittany. Really. I've been getting my hair cut and colored by her for over 2 years now, and I have no intention of going to anyone else. I always have FABULOUS cuts that total strangers will stop me on the street to compliment me on my hair, three months after I've gotten it cut!! But her coloring skills will blow you away. So creative. So beautiful. Everyone is jealous of my hair, and it's all because of Brittany. I've followed her to three different salons, and I'm so happy she has her own place now. Stop waiting - make the appointment now!! read more

Brittany is an amazing colorist and stylist. I've followed her around to a couple of different salons because she's talented, friendly, and gives great style advice. She even did my hair and make-up for my wedding! I'm constantly getting compliments on my cut and color, thanks to Brittany! You won't be disappointed. read more

I have never trusted a hair stylist as much as I trust Brittany. I had shied away from stylists in general for years, but was ruining my hair with box dyes... Brittany brought it back from the dead for me and it hasn't looked or felt better in years! I don't think I would let anyone else touch it now. Thanks, Brittany! read more

Brittany is as good as it gets. Flexible booking, affordable prices, as sweet as can be, and did I mention she's an AMAZING hair stylist? She is a great listener and always gets it right. I was really nervous to go from my longgg hair to a short angled bob but I have never loved my hair more than I do now! I always leave with a smile on my face and a little extra boost of confidence. I couldn't recommend brittany more. She's the best! read more

Brittany is very sweet, unpretentious and lovely to chat with. And to be fair my hair is VERY hard to cut and very few people are able to not mess it up (Big, curly, dry). I had a good trim with her but when I went in a second time with inches of damage on the ends it didn't go so well. I told her the two mistakes that hair dressers make with my hair (too short, it needs its length to curb the volume. and that it needs long layers because most do a short layer that makes me look like I'm wearing a clown wig) but what I ended up with was too short and no layers, so I still look like I'm wearing a clown wig. She was nice and offered for me to come back in to try to fix it but I live kind of far away and didn't think it could be fixed until it grew out. I could have gotten the same thing at supercuts. Pony tails and braids for me. read more

I got a haircut from Brittany and then went back for a complimentary bang trim. Brittany is professional yet funny and sweet. I really enjoyed going to her, and will likely go again. She listened to what I wanted in terms of style and delivered a great hairdo. read more

I wish I had found Brittany sooner! she is great at listening to what I want and giving expert advice. I have been seeing her for years now and every time I get a consistent "do". I have red hair so that can be challenging but she keeps it healthy and vibrant. Also her Davines product is amazing! I come all the way from Santa Cruz to see her, and it's sooo worth it. Not to mention she is a total doll to spend a few hours with. read more

What can I say, Brittany is brilliant!! She does wonders with my wavy-curly, fine, lots of hair. Excellent cuts and color and highlights. I trust her completely. I've followed her from many salons, and would follow here to the ends of the earth. She is that good! read more

brittany is AH-MAZING!!! i came in with 6 month old highlights. my roots were pretty sad and in need of love... and boy did they get them! brittany livened up my hair beautifully, and unlike other stylists she didn't take two hours to do it! i left with that fresh salon glow and feeling incredible. it's really hard to find affordable highlights in the city, but starting at $95? AND a hairdresser with a sparkling personality? sign me up a million times over. brittany is DEFINITELY my new hair guru :) read more

Brittany is an exceptional: person, hairstylist, and color guru! I highly recommend her and time flies when you are in her presence. She deserves "1000 Stars". read more

This was my first time at Brittany. She is a very talented, friendly young lady who knows what she is doing! She listens to you and gives multiple suggestions. She wants every customer to leave happy, which is what i liked the BEST about her. She really cares for her clients. Since hers is a single seater room, it felt like a private 1:1 session, better than a hurried cut in a salon. I will most definitely going to her again (I have curly hair). Do check her out! read more

THE best!! That's all I can say. I've been having my hair cut and colored by Brittany for several years now. She's awesome with shorter styles and a master with color. Her prices are incredibly reasonable and I've never walked out unhappy! read more

Brittany has been cutting my hair for at least five years and every time I am always so pleased at how it turns out. She has great ideas and really listens to what you want. Her space is also cozy, and she is awesome to talk to. Her booking system is also super easy and convenient. Plus, prices are very reasonable and she doesn't push any products - which is what turned me off from my last hairdresser. read more

Brittany rules! She has been cutting my hair for a couple years and does an awesome job every time (especially bangs!!) I have also had great color done by her and I have seen haircuts/coloring she has given friends -they all look great! She is really capable too if you want something off the beaten path or a younger sort of alternative haircut - THE BEST! read more

Pros: I asked her not to take off too much length and she didn't. As someone growing my hair out, I really appreciate this. Cons: I asked for a soft U-shaped hemline, and drew out the shape for her. She barely looked at the picture. She cut it blunt straight across. Going to get it fixed somewhere else where they listen to me during the consultation. Very expensive $60 for the stylist to not understand to a basic request read more

If you have curly hair, this lady's a godsend. I came in from out of town with a shapeless mop of 2b/2c curls that extended past my shoulders. Brittany was incredibly warm and easy to talk to. After determining that I was ready for a short cut, Brittany wet my hair -- big departure from Deva Curl protocol -- and somehow gave me a bob that's distinctive, fun, and easy to style. In short, witchcraft! A women's cut is only $65. Brittany said she'll be closing her solo space soon and moving into Pirate Salon down the street, which is cool, because I think I'd follow her anywhere. read more

I've been going here for a year and a half. I've gotten 3 awesome haircuts. She was able to work with me on what I wanted and how my hair works. I auve really curly hair so it's hard to work with. Going to see a bunch of family for thanksgiving so I wanna look my best. Great work thanks Britany! read more

Brittany is amazingly good at her craft. She intuitively knows color and cut. She also tries to understand what you are asking for and interpret it into something that works. And such a nice person... I absolutely love working with her. My hair is in such better shape since I've been coming to her. read more

Just got back from getting my hair cut and am really happy with the whole experience - Brittany is chill and friendly but professional, and did a great job with my hair (long and straight, but also thick). Probably important to point out that she gave me a great style even though I wasn't able to give her very clear directions to work with...she managed to decipher what it was I wanted, told me what she was planning, responded to my questions, and I'm happy with the outcome. read more

Brittany is a rock star. I've been going to her for over 2 years and love her energy and dedication to making sure I am happy with my cut. She has such a strong attention to detail and is super cool to talk to also! Her prices are also reasonable. read more

Brittany is amazing to say the least! She is patient and kind. She makes you feel welcome and she listens . What you really want to know is can she cut hair? Yes !!!!!! She is good really good!!!!! I have short hair and I must say best cut I have ever had. People stop me constantly and askk where. The unusual thing about a great cutter is they are not always good at color. She is! Amazing!! Go see her ! You will be happy . I promise!!!!! read more

Brittany rules. I just got a haircut from her yesterday and am so happy with the way it turned out! She knew exactly what she was doing, used high-quality, natural products on my hair, and was just super chill and great to talk to. As a recent Midwest transplant, I was pretty terrified of attempting to find a hairdresser that was reasonably priced while delivering good results. So thankful that I found Brittany right away, and will definitely be re-visiting her salon in the future! read more

I've been going to Brittany since I moved to SF a few years ago and she's AWESOME! My sister actually moved to New York and complains that she can't find anyone as good as her! She is incredibly talented, and takes alot of pride in her cuts and it shows. She's also great at giving advice on what she thinks looks good, and she's usually totally right. Besides being a great stylist, she's also super nice and fun to talk to. It's awesome she has her own Salon now!!! Brittany is the best! read more

I had been going to the same hair stylist for about 8 years. I happened to get together with a friend and thought her hair looked great; it was cut so well so that the natural wave of her hair was cut in such a way that it fell perfectly on her--it was an intelligent cut. Although I was not unhappy with the other stylist I had been using, I thought maybe I should give Brittany a shot, so I did. I asked Brittany for her advice as to the best cut (allowing that I did not want to go super short). Although the difference in the cut is not radical, it is enough that suddenly my hair just looks so much better--it suits my features more and I do not need any major prep after washing (I didn't before, either; I will not do high maintenance every day on my hair, I have a life). So today I let her do highlights and I must say I am really pleased; nice and subtle, they show perfectly and look totally natural, which I wanted. In addition Brittany is a bit less expensive than my other stylist and her salon is lovely, great natural light and easy parking, too. Brittany has a great eye and also happens to be really easy going and fun to be around. I cannot recommend her more. read more
