I have 2 daughters, 5 & 2. Dr. Reis has been their Dr. since day 1. I chose her upon recommendation from my OB PA that she would be the more natural choice than other doctors. While she is certainly not a homeopathic dr, but an M.D, she is reasonable & willing to listen to concerns. Since she was trained in medicine, I expect her to have a certain confidence in that field. She is caring & personable. I opt out of most un-required vaccines & Dr. Reis is respectful of my decisions. She encourages what is best in her opinion, but leaves the parental choice to me. The office does offer a more spaced-out vaccination program. I always choose that route, because I don't like to overwhelm my small children's bodies. It takes more trips to the office, but to me it's worth it. When you come in simply for a vaccine, it's a quick in-n-out visit. As far as the office staff, I really like Ilima & the one who's been there for a long time, the mom of twins. They are competent. The rest I don't really know. If they aren't super-helpful, I try to get the attention of the ones I know. Advice: Parents, do your research & decide what is best for your child. When you talk to your doctor, state your concerns, but be patient, kind & willing to listen. The best decision might be somewhere in between both of your opinions. If you don't agree, don't feel pressured, but say thanks & decline. read more

Dr Reis has been my sons Dr since day 1 and I am so happy I chose her practice. She is an amazing and very patient Dr and being I am a first time mom she and her staff never came across as annoyed by all my questions or concerns. We spent a lot more time with her and her staff in the last year due to my son having some growth/sleep issues and they were amazing. Now I am due to move in June and it makes me sad that Dr. Reis will no longer be my son's physician. My son loves her he talks and smiles and behave so great for her during all exams. I will and I do highly recommend her to anyone!!! I've noticed most people who have complained on here are just mad because of there policy's well people there are rules and regulations and policies no matter where you go. I'm pro vaccination, but my goodness 6 shots seemed a little much to me all at once! She didn't take my concern seriously after my child had a weird reaction to a vaccination. It might have been nothing serious, but I'd never seen any of my kids react this way before and all she said was "that's strange," and brushed it of like I was crazy. She ordered a blood test for my one year old that she even said go to the children's hospital to have it done because the phlebotomist downstairs will say it's to much blood. That was a red flag to me. Went to the children's hospital and the phlebotomists said it is to much blood and would not do it!!! She wrote in our chart that WE refused to get it done. We found a different doctor and they even said they get a lot of people who switch from this doctor. read more

We've been going here for three years! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they have hours 7 days a week. They even will talk me through things on the phone. I feel like my kids get the best possible care here. There is one nurse practitioner I'm not fond of but I just request to see someone else. Dr. Reis is our son's pediatrician. The office is totally convenient and clean and the staff is helpful. Dr. Reis herself is very friendly and pro-breastfeeding, etc. (generally AP stuff.) I gave it a slightly lower score because it sometimes takes her a while to get to you and waiting 15 minutes with a baby who's naked and just been weighed is a PITA. But I know doctors usually run behind, so it's not exceptional. read more

I say the lady at the front window should be replace. She's so rude as she really is on the phone.. I'm sure all the other staff in the back of her are just the same. Slamming the window in front of patients mean they must be talking and gossiping . Dr. Reis is paying them for what? She should just save her money for educated employees who can treat their patients better.. read more

The front desk was so incredibly nasty to me! I was trying to switch over as a new patient. Because we have not yet given my daughter the Chicken Pox vaccination they declined us in the most condescending way possible. She has all her other vaccines. After almost begging they said we can drop off the medical record they would look it over but would deny us unless we got the chicken pox vaccine, even though our previous doctor did not recommend it because of allergies to an ingredient in the vaccine. I can see the doctor herself has good reviews but I am skeptical because of the staff she chose to hire. If you are a new patient save yourself the aggravation and look elsewhere. read more

I know Dr. Reis she is a very caring and competent physician. I read D.F. and beth c.'s reviews and I feel they are a little misguided. Do you know WHY she is taking only patients who are willing to immunize with the CDC guidelines? HER HAND is being forced. Her primary insurance companies will not PAY HER unless she makes these benchmarks. IT is easy to say "well, money shouldn't be everything..." but she needs to pay her rent, her staff, and take something home to her family after more than 8 years of POST graduate work. Take some time to educate yourselves on the FACTS. She really has NO choice in this matter. I know because if you start "interviewing" almost all the pediatricians out there, you will get the same answer. GET used to it. Don't look to your insurance company to pay for your choice NOT to immunize your kid or to delay these immunizations. read more

We are "one of those" families that delays, spaces out, and declines some vaccinations. We have been doing this since our daughter was born in January 2010. Dr. Reis has been with our daughter since she was one week old. The MD World of benchmarks and standards and drug pushing is not our thing. We had a terrible experience with our OB recommended pediatrician even after we interviewed her pre-birth. We only went there once and thankfully found Dr. Reis. Dr. Reis was respectful and caring. She listened with genuine empathy and did everything she could to make us feel comfortable. Dr. Reis was born to be a doctor and talked with our one week old daughter with the same love we do. She is also a mother of two so that adds to her expertise. Her staff comes and goes. Today my daughter had a 4 year old vaccination with a nurse that did not provide love or exceptional approach. We will not allow her to assist us in the future. However past nurses have been perfect. Dr. Reis is always always helpful! Our daughter fell off a play structure at the park. We called Dr. Reis after hours. She called back within 30 minutes and said to come in the morning. It did not sound like a trip to the ER was needed. The next morning we visited her office and she told our 2 1/2 year old at the time to come walk and get a sticker. No sign of any limp like she had at home. It was a miraculous recovery. We feel blessed to have Dr. Reis. Yes, her staff can be short and considered rude at times. They are trying to juggle too many things. Compared to what else is out there, Dr. Reis is balanced. read more

We LOVE Dr. Reis! She is very understanding of my concerns any time I bring my children there. Her staff is always very friendly too. I also love the fact that she is open to recommending alternative medicines/treatments. She referred us for acupuncture for my daughter's eczema and it worked! We have finally had it. We have had some issues in the past, but this takes the cake. We suspected our daughter had chicken pox and took her in. Dr. Reis saw that there were some lesions in the mouth, and said "Oh, it is hand, foot, and mouth disease because chicken pox does not grow in the mouth." She put the chicken pox testing kit away and checked our daughter's hands and feet. There was a red spot on one hand (not a lesion) and nothing on her feet. She also said that our daughter would probably have a sore throat and not want to eat. 3 days later my wife called and said there is still no hand, foot, mouth symptoms. The nurse said, "It must be a different expression of the virus." 2 days later, as our daughter is suffering, having a secondary rash and more lesions, we take her back. Reis sees her and says, "Oh, it's chicken pox- I had a feeling." The day after getting the ointment our daughter was relieved of her discomfort. Bad enough? Now they INSIST on charging us for the initial visit." Office manager Tatiana told me, "misdiagnosis happen, but you pay Dr. Reis for seeing your daughter." I told her that I talked to the insurance company and they said it is easy to remove the claim. She said no. Absolutely not. They were not going to remove the claim and were going to get paid for that visit. If it was a rare disease we could understand the misdiagnosis. But chicken pox? Lesions don't occur in the mouth? Google chicken pox lesions in mouth and you will see that it commonly occurs in the mouth. There are humble pediatricians out there. I suggest that you learn from our experience. read more

Don't go here. Behind the counter staff is rude and unorganized. Their billing is incredibly aggravating. Closed my daughter's account there when we moved off island-- went in the office, received her health records and to pay any remaining balance, they said we didn't owe anything. I have received three bills in the two months we lived off island. Don't do it. Military-take your kids on base, MCBH and Tripler were way better and treat you a million times better.. that includes Doctors. read more

I am currently expecting and am in the process of interviewing a pediatrician. After, reading some reviews I thought I would schedule an appt with Dr. Reis since others had some positive things to say about her. Anyway, I called to make an appt and asked, "Is dr. Reis accepting new patients?" The office staff says, " depends on your insurance." I tell her the kind of insurance I have and then goes on to say, " Also depends if your children are vaccinated." I tell her I dont have any children. I'm trying to schedule an interview (prenatal) with the dr. so that I can discuss questions I have etc.. with the doc including her professional experience about vaccinations etc..The office staff, person rudely interrupts, and says, " Well, are you planning on vaccinating your child?" I then repeat what I said, and she again states, "Well, we can't see you ..your child has to be vaccinated...Again, I tell her, I dont have a child yet, My child is due in a few months and I am wanting to interview the doc for my (prenatal appt) anyway, she then puts someone else on the phone...So that was my experience with her office staff.. I never saw the dr. so I can't talk about that. I decided against even making an appt with the dr. because as a patient we will be dealing with the office staff, and they were really rude and off putting...I agree with Marian D's post..Its really too bad... read more

We had our second appointment with Reis pediatrics today, our first at the kaneohe Office. Waited less than 10 minutes-just enough time to fill out paperwork while keeping track of a toddler. Brandy was fantastic with our 18 month old. Drew blood with a finger prick for lead test and hemoglobin... no crying. Jo did a TB test which I had not seen before-inserted a needle just below surface of skin and injected some fluid: no crying. Brandy finished with a flu shot-again no crying. Dr Reis answered all my questions, and has a great demeanor and positive energy. Highly recommend for professional, high quality care. read more

If you are one of the moms out there that think outside the box and want to decide what's best for your kids not the government or doctor, don't go here. They are nice as long as you follow their rule. As soon as you start thinking for yourself, things can get ugly. We decided that we wouldn't vaccinate our girl until she was a little older (2 years or so) and were going to all the necessary appointments until 1 years of age. After, we stopped going for over a year since our girl was healthy and didn't need any care, we called for an appointment for a check up and we were told that we were not patients anymore. We tried to ask why and were told that we missed the mandatory appointments. We didn't know we would be completely kicked out if we didn't show up, we just thoughts these appointments were optional. They could have called us for a heads up to see if we were still patients....nothing. Then they told us that they would take us back if we vaccinate and said we'll think about it. When we got back to them a few days later to tell them we agreed, they told us we're not welcome there anymore. That was it. We called the Windward Pediatrics if we could get in, they said they would call us back. Meanwhile, we are pretty sure they contacted Reis office to ask them. They told us they wouldn't take us...no reason provided. read more

Dr. Reis and Jeanette are Fantastic! Anytime my son has an issue he is seen right away. When I have a question they get back to me right away. They are so good with including my son in all of his care and talking him through everything to make sure he is comfortable. Dr. Reis herself has gone above and beyond for our family when my son had a rare condition and was hospitalized. From my experiences with other Pediatricians on the mainland I feel it does't get better than Dr. Reis. read more
