Gas, propane, ice, ice cream, lottery tickets. A mini- mart type store with the basics. I for one am glad they are here.

Not much selection, probably cause its the only place in town and they don't have to "perform". - Dave

I shopped Trader Joe's today. I love this store and have always thought that their customer service…read morewas the best. Today they exceeded my expectations! When I opened the back of my SUV to put my groceries inside, the gallon can of paint that my hubby had just picked up rolled out, sprang open, and dumped about 1/2 gallon of bright blue paint onto the parking lot in front of the store. While I was almost in tears seeing the mess and the damage done to my favorite shoes and black pants, several TJ folks came out to help us in any way they could. I don't know how they will be able to get the parking lot back to normal, but the way they handled the situation was beyond excellent! They even handed me a bouquet of flowers as we left. Thank you, Trader Joe's staff! I was a loyal customer before, but now my hubby was witness to how great you guys are too. Bravo!

The place is a dream, but their customers are not! I don't know what it is with this store, but the shoppers are terribly mindless. Whilst I am aware that people get hyper focused when shopping; these people take it too far. Every time I shop, and I mean EVERY time, people are excessively mindless. They walk right into me, or cut me off, without keeping their heads up and eyes aware that other people are shopping. I often have to have full 2 minute conversations with shoppers about their behavior as if they are children. All of the parking stalls in the lot are also compact stalls and are not marked as compact. Sometimes I will avoid the store altogether because of their unusually narrow stalls, as I drive a large van. I don't know why the clientele here are so inept when it comes to others. It's very dissuading, not just to shop, but to see society slumping in this fashion. Is it just Silverdale? If I try another Trader Joes in another demographic, I'll report back. Odd experience altogether each time.

Despite some gripes I have with their pickup service (which I use often), I absolutely love this…read moreSafeway. First and foremost, it's extremely nice. The store is impeccably clean, products are always well organized, and the store has an amazing parking garage with large spaces under the store (big points for not getting rained on!). If you're not a Safeway rewards member consistently clipping coupons in the app, you're spending too much. I find Safeway's deals to be pretty incredible compared to other local options (Walmart, military commissary, Costco). Plus, can't beat the convenience of this store's location. Their gas is consistently cheapest in the area, especially when using points for fuel rewards (we are huge on buying 4x points products then using our rewards to get $1/off per gal of gas). Their gas station does get busy but it moves quickly, has a mini mart, and is well-lit so I always feel safe there, even at night. Now, pick up service. The app is incredibly easy to use to place grocery orders. Orders are consistently ready early or precisely on-time. While they're shopping, the employee asks for substitution permission if a product is unavailable. You can also put in acceptable substitutes ahead of time and send messages to the employee shopping. The employees are fast, friendly, and have always selected fresh products, which I appreciate. My gripe is how they pack the car. I drive a Suburban and always ask that they load everything up in the trunk. It is complete chaos with their loading (heavy things on top, unstable things near the front)... several times we've had casualties when I've opened the trunk and groceries have fallen and been ruined (like jars or bottles breaking) because of the poor loading job. A few weeks ago, I picked up an order and the store called me to come back because they had left their tablet in the trunk buried under the groceries. I asked if they were sure (they said "we think we left it in there") and said I'd pull over to check because I didn't want to drive back if it wasn't in there. Welp, as soon as I opened the trunk, a jug of milk and case of Sprite fell right out of my car to the ground and exploded open. I walked the exploded milk jug and Spite cans to a nearby trash can, then, whilst my entire outfit was covered in both, gave up on my preliminary search and drove back to the store. I was so frustrated. They were in a major rush once I arrived and hurried to replace the milk jug but didn't replace the exploded Sprite cans. I'll still get pick up orders but my gosh, please train your employees how to properly load up grocery orders! Nonetheless, I am a several-times-a-week patron of this store and truly feel fortunate to have it so close to home. Despite the gripes, I'm still loyal and think the overall store deserves a solid five stars. On a side note: How freaking cute is the little "free fruit" basket for kids visiting the store (see photos)?! I love that!

My grilled meatloaf sandwich was delicious, but it was a good 5 1/2 inches in diameter and so thick that with everything else, I can only eat 1/4 of. Leftovers was a bit better than that I was able to eat a half a sandwich. I made a joke that it was my "side of beef" sandwich. My son-in-law's chicken sandwich was awesome and so was my wife's Katsu pork sandwich. I also had the passion fruit cheese cake. That was yummy! The employees, even though swamped, took care of us and are cheerful. The restaurant has a homey feel. We ate outside, though in the park next to it. They carried Bedford's brand of sodas, and they are awesome! The Marion Berry cream and the root beer was so good. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
