They did a great job of keeping us comfortable while we waited though, even allowed us into the hangar where they keep the planes to take a peek at the awesomeness they had! The tour was quick but the pilot was really good about telling us what we were looking at and answering questions we had. All in all, was a great experience and would definitely recommend again!

Tony was our pilot and we were also assisted by Collin. The whole experience was outstanding from calling to book the reservation to the flight itself. The waiting area is beautifully decorated and calming. The guys were easy to talk to and put everyone at ease. Collin Drive is out to the Robinson on a golf cart and reviewed the safety procedures, then took pictures of us that he later sent us. We took the park tour and it was amazing. Since it was my boyfriends first time he sat up front with the pilot. Tony pointed out all the amazing lAndmarks and gave us a lot of history. BF said he never even thought to be nervous which is amazing (we rode in a no-plane once, different story lol) We stayed in Cincinnati and later saw the helicopter giving other tours so that was pretty cool too! I definitely recommend this company for any air your needs!

I live about two miles from the airport and the incessant noise is intolerable. FIVE flight schools operate out of Lunken now, and people who are taking flying lessons mostly seem to be on the same practice loop. That means that the loud drone of airplanes is a constant feature of living here and it greatly diminishes quality of life. In looking for where I will move next, a high priority is to be as far away from airports as possible.

My grandfather, who attended with us, told us how he would catch flights from Lunken when he was younger. Some other bits about Lunken's history, from its website: * Columbia, now the area occupied by Lunken Airport, became the first settlement in the Cincinnati area. * In 1927, Charles Lindbergh made his historic non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean. He lands at Lunken airfield to and from New York to refuel where he is mobbed by well-wishers. * The Flamingo, one of the first all metal monoplanes built in America, is produced at Lunken by Metal Aircraft Company. * In 1930, formal dedication of Lunken Airport takes place. A three-day celebration includes notables such as Howard Hughes, Jimmy Doolittle, Freddie Lund, Cincinnati Air Corps Reserves and Jean Harlow. Lunken Airport is dedicated as the largest municipal airport in the world. * In the 1940s, American Airlines is born at Lunken Airport. * In 1964, The Beatles arrive at Lunken Airport for their concert at Crosley Field. I wish we had had a chance to go inside the airport when we were there. We'll have to do that another time.

Jr. instructor has only 350 hours, and will not sign you off to solo unless you are absolutely perfect in every aspect of operating the helicopter. If my fixed wing instructor had been so strict, I would never have soloed. I spent $17K (34 hours), and she would not sign me off, so I gave up. I am a fixed wing pilot with 750 safe hours.

When I was shopping for private pilot training, the first thing I looked for is the safety record of the aircraft. Enstroms check the boxes. No crazy safety Endorsement required like when flying mast-bumping Robinsons. The second thing I looked for was accessibility to service. Check. Warren Co airport is intimately associated with Enstrom Helicopter Corp and is a service center. Finally, I interviewed the instructor pilots. TJ and Matt are friendly gents with thousands of hours of experience. They have a firm dedication to safety and a dedication to seeing you become proficient in whatever you want to do. They are straight-shooters and lend sound advice on everything Helicopter. Their schedules are flexible and they really go out of their way to help. There is no one else you want in the right seat other than good pilots with good teaching skills. Don't expect a bunch of hand-holding on the ground knowledge, though. Their pragmatic approach has students using inexpensive on-line programs for that. I just received my private helo rating, and I'm living proof that vaheli performs a service as advertised! No regrets! Their tour clients are a satisfied group too, just ask!
