This boutique has a wonderful combination of Merle Norman cosmetics, Vera Bradley, Brighton and other fun clothing & accessories. They gift wrap for free & also have a shoe store a quick walk away. The store owner, Ann, is seriously the nicest person you'll ever meet! Any time I'm in, she is speaking to everyone by name, remembering return customers and facilitating special orders like a champ. Her daughter, Bekah, is also an amazing help and gives great customer service. I definitely recommend shopping this small business I just knocked out half my Christmas list in one trip! read more

Unfortunately I am rating this a 1 Star after many years of being a loyal above average shopper at Brightside Boutique who not only shopped for myself, friends and family but also introduced others to the store who now shop and spend their hard earned money at this boutique. Over the past three years I have purchased five Brighton purses, and every time I am told by the staff to make sure and bring the purses back in to get them cleaned up and maintained for free. This is part of the warranty included with the bags I should take advantage of using the service. Finally after three years I decided to take the owners daughter up on the service recommendation and brought two of the bags in the be cleaned and repaired. One of the purses was leather and the other was fabric and leather with heavy detailed beading. The beading bag needed to have not only the fabric cleaned but the beading repaired, so both sent off. I was contacted about two weeks later that the bags we back and looked great, so I went down to the store to pick them up. Unfortunately the beading bag was not touched at all, after I told them I was disappointed with how it came back they apologized and said they would get it cleaned for me ASAP. This was all taking place mid October thru Christmas all while I was buying gifts that totaled approximately $2000 between my mother, husband and myself. Weeks later I was called saying the bag was back the best they could get it, I was told that they really don't clean up the fabric bags or replace the beads so it was about as good as it could get. I was a little disappointed after being told time and time again to bring in the bag to get it fixed but said it was ok and appreciated the, trying for me. At the same time I had an exchange I wanted to make from a gift my husband bought me. My husband took the tags off the earring/necklace set (under $100) which was unfortunate because Brightside Boutique won't take anything back without a tag. (I was not aware of this policy, guess I should have been but I never returned anything to the store before so didn't realize) instead of telling me that I was going to be an issue to exchange I was met with the owners daughters sarcastic attitude saying they were doing this to make sure I was happy and proceeded to tell me this approximately ten times, to the point where I said are you ok I feel terrible about exchanging this and then was told that they felt they couldn't make me happy with anything they did. I asked if they had the right person and she said yup, then ran away to get Ann (owner/mother) to help me since she didn't want to even look at me. At that point I lost it after having a horrible morning I just started sobbing uncontrollably, only to have the owner say she was having a hard day while trying to hug and console me. Well let me tell you something, if it was a problem you should have told me nicely and I would have kept the $100 exchange! And let me tell you another thing, you never know what type of day others are having. I had just come from my oncologist telling me my cancer treatment had not worked as expected and it was now terminal stage 4. I thought going into Brightside would make me forget and feel a little better with shopping therapy but obviously not. In fact even though this happened weeks ago I am sobbing again while writing this review. I have made sure to tell my closest friends this story, all whom were discussed and vowed never to shop them again. Maybe next time you should choose you actions and words better, the repercussions might be over whelming..my friends were known to them on a first name basis and were big shoppers there as well. read more

Horrible customer service!! I went to return a gift, I had the original receipt (that was paid for in cash). They didn't want to give me my money back. They made me call my mom who bought the gift for me to make sure it was "ok" to give me the cash back (I'm in my 30's) LMAO!! I finally got my money back from the employee with a stuck up attitude. My family and friends will not be going back!! read more

I had the opportunity to shop at Brightside today for a gift for my boss. The owner immediately approached me when I entered the store and was so helpful as I selected the perfect item; however, she was not pushy or hovering...she gave me space. She is a long time Brighton buyer/partner and really knows her stuff! The rest of the store is delightful as well, with great tee shirts, blouses, shoes, etc. The attention to detail throughout the shopping experience made me feel like a valued customer. She also gift wrapped my selection with no extra charge. I usually re-wrap gifts when the store does that (I'm a picky brat), but I won't rewrap this one! It's lovely. The store is celebrating its 10th anniversary and gave me a huge iced cookie and a celebratory discount...what more could a girl ask? Congrats on your longevity...with service like that, I know you will be there another 10, 20, etc. years! read more
