Chips were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and a small serving is plenty for 2. The service is incredibly quick and friendly, they even know the locals by the first name. The shop doesn't have that caked in 30 years of grease feel and is clean with a well laid out menu. This would have to be one of Adelaide's best and hidden F&C shops. Walk an extra block away from the beach and hop, skip and jump your way back to enjoy fish you'll think was freshly caught from the sea that day.

I don't often buy the cooked take away food here but I am always here buying their fresh fish. For a seaside tourist destination Glenelg lacks fresh fish shops, having tried the few there are, I keep coming back here because it has the freshest fare available. There isn't much of a selection but what they have is quality. This is also the fish they use to deep fry so you can't lose.

The shop has changed hands in the last few years and is now run by an Asian family who are friendlier than the previous owners but the fare doesn't seem to have improved much. The shop itself is pretty outdated and needs a bit of a revamp but it is conveniently located within walking distance of the beach and a nice grassy strip along the Esplanade which is a particularly nice place to sit and eat them. The staff were friendly and tolerated my 3 year old twins throwing superballs around the shops everywhere (well so they should when they have a vending machine which sells superballs for $2 each in the shop!!!). We got some "potato fritters" which to me as a Victorian are known as "potato cakes" and they gave us about 8 of them when we only asked for 4 - so thats a good thing. They also sell Farmers Union Iced Coffee (who doesnt over here) - which as an interstater is a real hit!!! I love the stuff and would even consider moving over to SA because of it! Its only sold at the supermarkets and some service stations in Victoria - not everywhere like here!
