This review is based on my personal experience, payment receipts, and the official billing information provided to me by my insurance companies regarding two separate claims: * MetLife Claim (In-Network): My official EOB showed my total patient responsibility was $104.40. Having paid $66.00 upfront, my remaining balance should be $38.40. Instead, the office demanded $82.00. I have the receipts and EOB documenting this discrepancy. * Cigna Claim (Dental Treatment): I paid $875.50 upfront. Cigna processed the claim and determined my actual patient responsibility was only $645.10--meaning I am owed a $230.40 refund. When both I and Cigna contacted the office to resolve this, the office manager refused the refund, claiming the $230.40 was being retained for "other balances" and an "anesthesia/facility fee." However, my documentation proves my $1,600.00 pediatric anesthesia payment was made entirely to a separate provider, Pediatric Dental Anesthesia Associates (Dr. Brooke Maryak), not to Bright Smiles. The amounts demanded and retained by this office do not match the legal patient responsibility limits set by my insurance networks. ** When I posted about this factual experience, the office sent an email threatening legal action to force me to remove my review instead of issuing my refund. My recommendation to other parents: Carefully compare your EOBs with your receipts before paying this office anything extra, They'll charge you over your patient responsibility EOB!

I have always felt very comfortable going to see Dr. Townsend and his team, even with my now less then perfect teeth they always treat me and everyone else who comes through there doors with respect and a smile:-). Lately I've been having to have a lot of work done on my teeth to get them back into tip top shape from before I had Ulcerative Colitis and had to take long term steroids(which are well known to destroy your bones). I ended up having my colon removed thus taking care of my UC for now, but ended up with severe bone damage to my teeth and developing osteopenia. At first I was scared that I was going to wind up toothless at an early age and embarrassed to show Dr. Townsend the state of my mouth, but he quickly put my fears to rest and came up with a treatment plan that will soon have my teeth looking good as new:-). Up first was getting a new set of front veneers bc when I was 5 I had half of my front tooth knocked out by a basketball. I also come in for cleanings every couple months instead of the normal twice a year to ensure my gums stay healthy(yes Dr. Townsend always has me on happy gas when I come in for a cleaning or a procedure, I have sensitive teeth and it's the only way I'd probably show up), I've had some fillings done as well. I went in on Monday for a cracked tooth, and yesterday they had me in to see an oral surgeon to fix the issue! I can't wait till Dr. Townsend finishes putting my smile back to the way it was! The best part is you know that he is doing a great job bc he won't rush to try and get you in and out:-).
