I was supposed to meet with Dr. Gordon, their main dentist, but instead they sent me a very, very young dentist. I think he just got out of dental school. They gave me a very expensive quote for work that wasn't needed, included pulling a tooth which brings with it a lot of possible complications. I got a second opinion opinion from Dr. Hall in Fernandina, and he didn't pull the tooth. He was efficient, effective, and completed the work in a few hours at a fair price. Dr. Hall has a great personality and he didn't stick me with an inexperienced doctor. I'm so glad I got a second opinion. I needed two crowns which they make right there at the office. It was completed in about 2-3 hours. Dr. Hall's cost was 1/3 of what Dr. Gordon estimated. read more

My husband is NOT a fan of dentists;however, he could not stop boasting about the staff, the chair-side manners, and the overall concern and personalized care he received. Coming to Yulee from elsewhere forces you to hope you end up with the right dentist (as well as other medical professionals,) Home run! This dental practice has all the right personnel who answer any and all questions and make the dental experience an excellent one. Starting with Pam at the front desk, to Margaret (treatment planning coordinator), to B.J. (dental hygienist) to Dr. Gordon I felt I was in the hands of a state of the art dental practice. I noticed that the cup of rinse and the spitting into the porcelain bowl did not exist. The spittoon is no more, I was told. Xrays were taken with a hand held device (new to me) and then pictures were taken of every tooth and the interior of my mouth. WOW!!!!!! The massage chair and sunglasses were a great extra. I was given a prescription for fluoride toothpaste and finally a goodie bag with toothpaste, toothbrush and floss. Tina is the most disgustingly rude, disrespectful, unprofessional employee that I've ever come to encounter. I arrived at 1:20 early to fill out paperwork. I know for a fact that my appointment was at 1:45. I even confirmed last week. When I watched someone go ahead of me I asked the father what time his appointment was and he stated it was at 2. At 2:20 I asked Tina politely if they were aware I was skipped. She argued with me about the time of my appointment stating my appointment was at 2:30. She stated that I didn't need to interrupt her. She repeated herself multiple times after I simply said okay to antagonize an argument and asked me my name 4 different times. I recently moved to the area, and asked friends for a dentist recommendation when the time came to finally deal with a broken tooth. It had been bothering me for some time, and I suspected it needed to be pulled. Yulee Family Dentistry and Dr. Gordon were highly recommended, and with good reason. Even though it was the first day they were open after New Year's (the 2nd), they were able to fit me in the next morning. I was able to fill out paperwork online, which saved time and made things even more easy when I arrived. The front desk staff was very pleasant and kind. The office is comfortable and welcoming, clean and nice decor. I was called in for my consultation quickly, right on time. The dental assistant listened patiently to my saga with this problem tooth, and was very understanding. I could tell she was very experienced, and knew her stuff. She did a couple of x-rays and the dentist came in and did an assessment. Equipment was modern and high-tech. We went over all the options and scenarios. It was decided extraction was the best way to go. They offered to schedule the extraction, or do it that day. Since I'm a terrible patient, I decided to get it over with ASAP. Dr. Gordon was gentle in administering local anesthesia and kept me informed of what he was doing so there were no surprises. There were dark glasses to put on and protect the eyes, and they offered headphones as well. The extraction procedure itself was straightforward and, believe it or not, painless. What?!?! They were very good in explaining post-op guidelines to ensure healthy healing. I also received an email later that afternoon with instructions and well wishes for a speedy recovery. All in all it was a very good experience, even though the dentist is not a place anyone wants to spend much time. The current office is in a convenient spot right off 17. They will be moving to a new building, but not too far away. read more

I was disappointed that the receptionist does not wear a mask although the establishment request at the front door for a mask. Hebe, the hygienist was excellent. I went for a cleaning covered by my maintenance contract but other procedures they claim were made and at the end the cashier/receptionist presented me a bill for over $400.- dollars. Be careful, make sure you ask the person that is going to attend to you, what procedure they will be doing, so that you won't have an expensive surprise. You know how some doctor's offices pick up and immediately put you on hold? Not Vanessa. So first, all the support staff were terrific, including Margaret, the business manager, who was crystal clear on procedures and costs; second, Dr. Gordon's technology is second to none. He uses state-of-the-art imaging machines to deliver precise crown imaging (my problem...), and an "isodry" mouthpiece to make it easier and quicker to work on your mouth. Terrific! read more
