I went to Dr. Bright because my friend recommended me here. Overall, I had a ok experience with Dr. Bright and his staff. it was definitely worse that I expected. The part where I did not like was where the dental assistant was rushing to cut the wires from my braces, where she was holding this big and sharp scissors to cut the extra wires. I understand she was rushing to go to lunch because it took quite a while to put the braces on, but overall I was scared that she would cut something else in my mouth. After she was done with braces, she spent like 2 minutes on how to clean and take care of my braces. Basically, she showed me a video and and one electronic toothbrush and told me if I don't clean well I well get cavities. From what my friend told me it was completely different experience. I am expecting how this braces will change my overall dental posture and how it will fix my bite problem, but meanwhile hoping I spent $6,000 into a good use. read more

STAY AWAY. I hate to write this review, but Bright has left me no choice. This place has tried multiple times now to scam me out of money under the guise of "late fees." I've always had all the bills (we had THREE kids get braces here) paid on auto-pay, however, somehow, they would still manage to 'have a system change' or 'system was down during your scheduled payment' or some other nonsense that added late fees. They would never send a bill and the late fees would start stacking monthly. EVERY TIME it was something on their end and they would continue to fight to get me to pay the fees. This week has been the last straw. We moved from Texas nearly 8 months ago. I personally went to the office before moving and made sure we were paid in full and everything was done, which I was told was the case. However, I'm now getting threats from Ziquia that they are going to send me to collections over (you guessed it) more late fees and some other fee they never told me about. 8 MONTHS, not a word, not a bill, not a call, not an email. And then suddenly, "Oh, you owe us or else." I excused their scams for too long and foolishly believed all the 'system down' lies they told. No more. This place is unethical and shady. read more

DO NOT go to to Bright Orthodontics. The actual orthodontic assistants are alright, with some better than others; however, I can count on half of one hand the number of times Dr. Bright was in the office and actually involved. When I got my braces off, I got a thin (the standard size) retainer. After a little while, we had to replace retainer #1, and one of the assistants recommended the 2mm (thicker size) retainer, which costed $50 extra, so I bought it because it would apparently last longer. I wore this retainer for more than 3 years, from early 2022 to today, 2025. It had developed some holes in it, so we went back to get a new mold in 2025 just last week. Melannie, one of the orthodontic assistants, kindly informed us that the retainer we thought was 2mm (thicker size) was actually the standard thin size, indicating there was some kind of mistake that happened last time. That means that they had mistakenly given us the standard (thin) size when we paid $50 extra for the 2mm (thicker) size. I went home to compare the only two retainers, and both were the exact same size (both thin size), which Melannie confirmed the next time we went. We then talked to Shannon, the office manager (dirty blonde hair; looks around 50-60s years old), who refused to refund us. Even worse, she implied that one of the thin retainers was something we got from somewhere else, that we were trying to trick Bright Orthodontics into giving us a $50 refund. That is incredibly disrespectful and illogical: why would anyone go out of their way, spend money to buy a whole retainer from somewhere else, just to try to extract money from Bright Orthodontics?? There are much more principled ways to earn income or save money. Then, I showed Shannon the retainer I had been wearing for 3 years because she seemed so dismissive and unbelieving of any word that came out of my mouth. It was obviously the "thin" size, visibly thinner than the 2 mm size. She then proposed that there was "different management" back then, and they may have used "different material." What kind of retainer has 2mm of plastic melt in your mouth into the exact same size as the standard (thin) size when you wear it? Does she think that her business's clients are stupid enough to believe that? Shannon then backtracked and said that since I wore it for 3 years, I got my $50 of "money's worth" already. But there are significant holes in that retainer because I grind. Those are holes that could be smaller if they had given the 2mm thick retainer that I paid for 3 years ago. Those are holes that have allowed my teeth to grind against each other that have likely damaged something at least a little, which will likely become another problem in the future. So no, I did not get my "money's worth." If she can't see that implication, maybe she should not be working at an orthodontist's office. If believes there is no difference between a thin retainer and a thick retainer, she should tell the business to stop selling the thick retainer because in her mind, it is the same outcome, right? But of course, at least I hope, she knows that there is a difference between the two retainer sizes, and she knows that I did not get my "money's worth." Words don't always reflect what the mind knows (assuming the mind does in fact know). Throughout this exchange, Shannon repeatedly called me a crazy child and tried to get us to leave the office. She should know that children who stand their ground on basic principles are not crazy. Children who do not let businesses get off easy of ripping them off are not crazy. I don't think Shannon is crazy either. She is just a little rude, so I'm not sure if this job is the best fit for her. Shannon also proposed that because Melannie, the orthodontic assistant, was the one who pointed out that the retainer I thought was the "thick" one was actually the standard thin one, Melannie is the one who should pay for the $50. How does this make any sense? Melannie told the truth, so she has to pay? Melannie has to pay for the business's mistakes? We live in a world where integrity and honesty is dwindling, and punishing people who speak the truth does not help at all. Then Shannon didn't want to speak to us anymore, so Ziquia came to talk to us. She said essentially the same thing as Shannon, but in a more respectful, more professional, less accusatory way. She even offered a $50 credit. We didn't take the credit. If we did, it wouldn't have made a difference because that is the last time we are paying this office a visit. read more

Paid over $6000 for my goal braces which I loved treatment was 36 months removed the braces and I wasn't satisfied with my smile which I explained to the dentist. Their reply was it would rest and lay down when the truth of the matter is they won't move, unless your trays are set every month so that they can be corrected fast-forward I returned with the same complaint and it said bright orthodontist being loyal and given their customers a discount they decided to give me a new treatment plan for 18 months for a total of $5750 which was ridiculous the dentist suggested that we pull a tooth at the bottom so that Top can rest and be straight which blows my mind because why you do that from the beginning, knowing as you stated my teeth were too large for my mouth size. that's why I am not a happy customer read more

I DO NOT recommend Bright Orthodontics!! We have had to go in every year to have a permanent retainer fixed. This year, they replaced it (without asking if we wanted that). Later in the day a dentist commented that it wasn't even anchored in the middle. It fell out the next day. We searched online and looked high and low and Bright Orthodontics came highly recommended by many. The office staff and doctor were nice, and we went along with their recommendation for a rapid palatal expander for our son. They'd initially indicated that the device would need to stay in for over 6 months, so we were quite surprised when Dr. Bright had it removed after only a few months. As a physician I'm no expert in orthodontics, but am well versed in reading medical literature. Everything I've read indicates that, after expansion, the expander device should remain in place (or a retainer or other device placed to hold the expansion). This allows time for new bone to fill in the newly created gap in the hard palate. No such device was recommended for our son. Now we're at another orthodontist several years later, putting another palate expander on our son prior to him getting braces, for an issue that should have been treated correctly by Dr. Bright several years ago. As a physician I cannot recommend this practice. read more

Dr Bright was honest with me, I wanted my braces off immediately but he said if I did- I would not be happy. So, I stayed on a little longer. It was worth it! I don't know how this place has good reviews, I came here because of it. They are horrible, front staff is rude, never greets and the others not any better. Came today for a visit, first of all they open at 9am, Really? When working hrs should be 8-5p and they see lots of school age kids. Then we came a but early because of course, I have a school age kid that needs to go back to school. Came 10 mins early 2 ladies came early stuck themselves in a room laughing idk about what while they say oh just wait there till 9am. While they were already here, then another pt came in after us and of the two staff takes her first. Geez I wish I had never came here in first place! read more

They explain the brace process well and appreciate the summer discount special for the braces. Stephanie and Veronica are helpful. This is the best run office I've ever seen! (And as a nurse I've seen a lot of 'em!) Dr. Bright's staff are on top of their game - from state of the art equipment and though every step of orthodontics - I highly recommend them. Dr. Bright has his office set up with games for the kids (PSP's available at each chair) and an arcade while in the waiting room. Each station represents a different school in Katy ISD - WAY cute! So I really wasn't going to do this but at this point I feel like I must. I am very disappointed with Bright Orthodontics. First my child is a minor yet I can't go in with her and maybe that wouldn't be too much of a problem but there have been issues while I'm stuck sitting outside. First issue was when my child had a visit and I wanted to inquire about how much longer would she have the braces on, Veronica came to take my child in the back and I explained to her that my child was suppose to get her braces taken off in March and we are now in June, I know things with COvid has changed stuff but I just want to know how much longer will she have to keep her braces on. She tells me to just ask Dr. Bright which I did and he gave me an answer but then I was told that I had to step out because only patients are allowed in the office during this pandemic. Now my problem is that as soon as I stepped out it seems that Veronica whom had nothing to say while I was there felt the need to call in several coworkers (while she was working on my daughter) to say "oh mom has some concerns yet her daughter has 5 missing brackets". Oh how nice your quiet as a church mouse in front of me but have plenty to say after I leave and made my daughter extremely uncomfortable. So I called the office and spoke to someone and told them that I no longer want Veronica working on my child. So I'm thinking that the issue is resolved her next visit should be fine (which was today 8/6/20). Again only the patient can go inside although I still feel as if I should be able to go In with my minor child I didn't say anything I let her go in. Now today she goes in and she has brackets missing which she did the last time, I agreed last time to just replace the 2 that is most needed with Dr. Bright. Apparently none of this was put in her notes from the previous visit and they acted as if they didn't know she had brackets missing. I had to explain all of this on the phone with Zakia after she called me because like I stated before I'm unable to stay in the office with my child. My child comes out and is visibly upset, and she proceeds to tell me that they were telling her that it's not their fault that she has brackets missing and that they don't have time to keep replacing them and at this point they need to speed up the process to take them all out her mouth. Again when I was on the phone no one said any of this to me. I'm the adult not her. I pay for the braces not her so all of this should have been said to me. All they did was make her feel as if they were accusing her of something. Oh and the fact that Veronica came in the room my child was in with another coworker speaking a different language so my child wouldn't understand. So at this point I feel like I must say something. This place is completely unprofessional if it wasn't for the fact that I have already paid for these braces and another orthodontist would not take someone else's work I would have been went elsewhere. I have another child that needs braces and I'm definitely going somewhere else. Please save your money and headache take your child to a different orthodontist office preferably one that has better customer service and knows how to be professional. At this point I really wish I could give them negative stars. read more

10 years ago I would have given Dr. Bright 5 stars. Today, I cannot. Their staff are wonderful; however, he is overbooked and heading into retirement so he doesn't work every day. It is impossible to get an appointment any earlier than 1 month. My daughter was told yesterday that her they are ready to remove her braces but they are booked all the way up to August 26; in other words she has to wait 3.5 months to get her braces removed. It is absurd!!! I do not recommend Dr. Bright any longer. read more

Did not have a great experience. I only talked to Dr. Bright in my initial visit. Scheduling appointments seemed unorganized and didn't match up well with my Invisalign treatment (I actually ended up wearing my final set of trays for six weeks which ended up with one of them breaking in half). So apparently it's common to get some sort of revision trays after the final set, but those trays did not come in for the appointment that was originally scheduled (3 weeks was not long enough I guess). In the meantime since my trays broke, my teeth moved back to what looked like halfway through my original treatment. After having to drive to their other location and miss some work, I was given some trays that looked like they were not fully completed. I asked the person giving to them to me if this was normal, and they said it was. After wearing these incomplete brackets, my tongue became so cut up that I was not able to talk normally and could barely swallow. When I called in to report this, a nice lady at the front desk took my notes and said she would report them to her manager. When she gave the notes to her manager, the manager ended up calling me asking if I need an appointment (apparently the manager did not get much of information from the 25 minute phone call I made before). I called again and left a message explaining the whole thing again. When I called back the week after without a response from my second call explaining everything to a voicemail, Tanya (who was the manager from before) was very short and rude with me. She told me that the shortened brackets were normal (after having to check with another employee), and after much discussion, she finally told me that either my tongue needed to adjust, or I needed to take the trays in to be sanded down (or do it myself). I'm not sure why this wasn't done already considering the cost I am paying for this. Also, with my work, it's almost impossible to go out to their office again since it is really out of my way.
