Absolutely the worst childcare experience we've ever had ! The center admins are retaliating against us for refusing to split up our twins !!! Update: Another retaliation from the center - they called to mention that what they said last Friday that it cannot have incident report, can now do, and they started sending incident reports today (Monday 4/29) after seeing my review. Extremely disappointed, I genuinely thoug6Bright Horizons was better than this... Our 19 months old twins go to the center since they were 15 months. When they first joined the center, they were getting sick more often than not, and they were also being bitten at least once a day (where they'd send an acual official incident report - photos attached for one of the times the kid was bit). We got frustrated because of what happened, but by the time we raised a flag on the issue, things got better (we think the problem child with the biting moved to the twos class). However, not long after, the center started preparing to split up our twins without even telling us, so we raised the issue with them since we wanted our twins to have some bonding time yet, and they backed our of their plans. However, after this, they started saying that our toddlers make problems in the classroom by 'fighting over toys' between themselves and other children, 'pulling hair', as well as 'running off' on the hallways, and they put the kids on a 'behavior improvement plan' where we'd need to be ready to pick up the child any day where they make a problem in the classroom, and where the enrollment could be paused in two weeks if no improvement is noticed (we're not expecting them to report an improvement). Please note that: * In the center admin's eyes, (running off) and (fighting over toys) are not typical toddler behavior, but (biting) is. * There are no official incident reports for 'pulling hair', 'running off' or 'fighting over toys' if not child got hurt, so they're officially make it up here. read more

Our daughter has been enrolled here since she was seven months old, she is two and a quarter now. We could not be happier with the teachers and staff at BH. They are so warm and welcoming. Our daughter loves her teachers and loves going to daycare each day. Sometimes it's hard to get her to come home in the evenings. BH does so much for kids' learning. They have even suggested things that we can try at home to further the learning. They also care about every child. I have seen many teachers cuddling with children that need some extra attention at times (my kid included). I cannot recommend this facility enough. It is worth the money, no question about it! read more

For the sake of clarification, this used to be the Learning Garden, but is now Bright Horizons. I am really shocked about the reviews of this place. I'm also a little embarrassed that it took me so long to write a review. We had a wonderful experience with this facility and the staff and teachers became like extended family. Our daughter was at this facility when she turned one, and stayed there until she was 18 m.o. and we were relocated to Cincinnati. During that entire time, our daughter was extremely happy and loved her teachers Ashley and Andrea. I am giving them a personal shout out because they are the best and really do care about the kids. I say this because even though we have been in Cincinnati for several months now, I am still in contact with Ashley and she is always asking for updates about my daughter. Prior to leaving the facility, Ashley and Andrea made us a scrapbook of all of our daughters art projects and gave us a CD with 350 pictures of her time spent there. If that doesn't say something about how much they care about the kids, then I don't know what does. In response to K.C's post about kids getting hurt, our daughter did get hurt on a couple of occasions, but that is bound to happen at any daycare. When there are a bunch of rowdy kids put in the same classroom, things happen. The teacher to child ratio is lower than any other facility in the area, so you really ARE getting better care than at other facilities. Again, I cannot stress how much this facility cared for our daughter. She loved her time spent there, and even when she was with other teachers, she was really happy. This review speaks more to customer service than quality of the center. The facility is designated as a backup childcare center provided by our benefits. When I called to talk with them, they explained there was no room that day to accept children for backup care, totally understandable. When I expressed interest in knowing more about the facility as I might want to enroll at a later date, the individual said there wouldn't be any room until summer and made it clear she wasn't interested in talking further. She may have misunderstood but in any case she was curt, a bit condescending and dismissive. Maybe just a bad day, but it could be representative of how parents would be treated. read more

Terrible daycare. I wouldn't trust my children to go there. The teachers at the infant room are great. But the toddler rooms are terrible. They are nice to parents who give them lots of gifts at christmas and all other occassions. They play favorites with kids... Though the facility is clean, the teaches are terrible...The worst experience was with teacher Laura and Michelle. read more

Before my son was born, my husband and I visited a half dozen daycares near our office. Bright Horizons was by far the best option for us. Our little guy started in the infant room at about 3 months and he is now in the toddler room. We have had such a fantastic experience with the teachers and directors there and consider them family. What I love most about this place is how well suited the teachers are for their age ranges. In the young infant room, Paula and Nadiya were so informative and compassionate. As a new parent, I needed all the help and knowledge I could get. They gave me the comfort of knowing that he was being well cared for and that he was being held and soothed whenever he needed it. In the older infant room, my son was becoming mobile and active in so many ways. Olga and Amanda were perfect in that they both had such a high energy level and could match my little guy's activity with songs, dancing, and learning how to learn. His comprehension was increasing and in combination with his dexterity and mobility, he needed teachers with full understanding and activity levels. My son's body awareness was also increasing and along with that, his social skills. In the young toddler room, he needed help and guidance in interacting with his friends and new people. Molly and Leah were the perfect social teachers, but also perfectly tender to aid in his handling and knowledge of his developing toddler body. We looked to his teachers to also help with his developing emotions and his frustration level that came with his increasing independence. Our son is now in the older toddler room and we are still blown away with his development and progression. Andrea and Ashley are helping him so much with his speech development, social interaction, and comprehension. He can say "I love you," count to ten, say almost all of his friends' names and communicate in short sentences. Every step of the way, his teachers and the staff at this facility have been so excited at his progress. Who knows how many children any given teacher has seen grow through these age ranges, but it's like they're seeing it for the first time right along with us. They're excited when he displays knowledge of new learnings and activities and can't wait to tell/show us. The daily sheets and litany of photos along with the daily growing world emails put us right there with our son - watching him discover, interact, play and delight in so many activities - perfect for a mom who admittedly has a hard time letting go (which the teachers and directors have been unbelievably accommodating with me on). The facility is always so clean and organized, with parent meetings, activities, monthly parent nights out, philanthropic opportunities, festivals, classroom previews, and one-on-one time with teachers. In addition to the friendships we have developed with the staff and other parents, we are so pleased with our son's physical, mental, emotional and social development and would wholeheartedly recommend this care center. read more

We've been extremely happy with our daughter at Bright Horizons in Bothell. We enrolled her here after taking a look at a number of other daycares in the area, and this was the only one we found acceptable. There is no doubt that Bright Horizons is very expensive compared to other day cares, but this is definitely an example of "you get what you pay for" because we were not willing to settle for a dirty daycare with teachers who didn't appear to genuinely care about their kids. The teachers in our daughters classroom are outstanding. Our daughter absolutely loves them, and we have 100% confidence she is taken care of and given opportunities to learn and grow every day. Not many day cares will go through the effort of sending daily emails with photos of all the great things their kids are doing. We have a daily view into their room, and don't feel at all disconnected from her while she is in their care. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend Bright Horizons to anybody. read more

We toured several facilities before my son was born and Bright Horizon's facility and staff made me feel most at ease with the thought of having to leave my baby all day. We had my son there for 9 months and loved the teachers and the facility, but ultimately had to leave due to the cost and a change in our financial situation. Bright Horizon was the most expensive facility in our area and they have steep price increases each school year. If you can afford the cost and are ok with the price increases, I would totally recommend. The cost is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. read more

Our first child started at bright horizons in 2010. Our second in 2012. The teachers and staff really care about our kids and our family. Our children have had a really great experience and have learned more than we expected. We highly recommend this center. read more

Our family has been at Bright Horizons, Bothell since April 2006. My oldest started there at 6 months old and my youngest started 3 years later at 4 months old. I've consistently been pleased with the teacher's engagement with the children and their partnership and communication with the parents. The curriculum is wonderful. When we started, it was strange to think of Infant Curriculum. But, you'd be amazed at the number of projects both my sons came home with. That curriculum continues to grow with the children. By the time my older son started Kindergarten he was so well prepared for school it was wonderful. The teachers have always provided a great blend of love and structure. I frequently see them cuddling with the kids and are always warm and open with the kids. They also keep the days filled with great activities to keep the kids engaged and having fun. I've also appreciated the great relationships the teachers build with the parents. They definitely keep a careful watch over the kids and communicate how well they're doing, if the child had a rough day, or even if they just seemed a little off. If you have a specific request for your child, they're very willing to partner with you. I love the extra curricular activities, and my boys do too. A wonderful range of extras from dance to tumbling to music to martial arts. A great way to get your kids exposure to some of these extras that are sometimes difficult to fit into a busy working family's life. All-around a great place. I've felt very comfortable and confident in leaving my boys in Bright Horizon's care and will continue to do so until my youngest heads off to Kindergarten. read more

I put a lot of research into many things and daycare was no exception. My son currently attends this daycare and let me explain to you (especially if you're a new parent) why your daycare matters and what specifically matters - teachers, teachers, teachers. When your kid comes to daycare, your child is looking for a substitute for you, a caring, loving, disciplining adult who'll take care of them and let them know that even though mommy-daddy aren't here, you're loved, wanted and protected. Your child is looking to bond with one primary caregiver when you're at work. BH Bothell has that. Good, loving teachers. Teachers who've been there for 13 years, 17 years, in the same class. Teachers who love coming here, to their specific class, every day to be with these kids. They care for the kids like they're their own. The next piece is the curriculum. The BH curriculum is great. The playground is huge and so is the indoor movement space. A giant fish tank, mandarin lessons, the KCLS book van visits every so many weeks, the Tumblebus visits every week, art classes, show-&-share, everyday is something new that my child looks forward to. Every quarter they have a big fun event involving the families and those events are great! Definitely not to be missed! The BH space is kept really clean (to the best possible ability where there are dozens of kids...) and the place has giant windows that lets the natural environment in (sunlight) and also let's mummies and daddies obverse kids from the outside and blow one last kiss before you leave to work. The food is good, it forces my picky eater to try different things. They have an app to track activities throughout the day including pictures and videos. Overall, we're super happy here and soon our next baby will in BH Bothell as well. read more

Do not consider this campus for childcare. It's the worst. The teachers have no classroom management and incident after incident happens to kids all the time of all ages. Kids get hurt a lot. The Director who just sits behind the desk and gossips has nothing but excuses to make for the staff and will tell you that this is what you can expect in a daycare setting. It's a matter of time before something tragic happens. Bright Horizons Bothell "talks" a good game but doesn't deliver what the literature of Bright Horizons promotes. These "extra" programs like music rarely happen and when they do, it's not by the professionals you think are instructing your child. In the end, it's a classic case of a small satilite office that's out of site of the parent company who's making too much money and who's gotten too big to know what's really going on. read more

This is the worst facility ever. The director is not the nicest person to deal with. Yes, the place is very nice but honestly, for the money, this Bothell campus is just a glorified daycare. I found out a year ago, they had a teacher who also worked as a stripper at night. The director is the worst person to deal with any issues. I feel it has come down to just the money. To pay over $742 a month for 3 days a week from 9-3, PLUS they want you to pay an additional $155 for the summer programs. Also, when I signed up my son 2 years ago, I was told they have a Spanish teacher, art teacher and music teacher. Found out, there was not always these classes available. Some of the special teachers were also regular teachers to cover the the light staffing. This location has a high turnover rate and I am disgusted with this place. Oh, also, they had the toddlers napping for over 1 1/2 hours. My son never napped at the school, so he just sat in the dark for a long time. Plus, I didn't find out until I asked) if he was eating the provided lunch. The answer was no. He threw fits because he was starving and they never told me. If you wish to take your child to any Learning Garden, DO NOT consider this location. read more
