I love that she gave me a free consultation which included a thorough explanation of the process and a 15 minute demonstration where she actually did electrolysis on me. I am so glad I have found Elise on Yelp. I was searching for a local electrolysist since I discovered laser hair removal is not a permanent solution and I was wasting money at another local medical spa in Hillcrest. I had a free 10 min session with Elise and 30 min consult to go over a plan. I needed to remove hair on my shoulders and back areas. I have gone at least 8 times over the past 2 years and still go for touch ups. Most of the hair I wanted removed is gone. I have had no issues and actually it's not as painful as laser, not even close. I tend to have a higher threshold for pain anyway. Sometimes it's tough to book an appointment since her schedule is so booked, but when folks cancel and it falls into my preferred timeslot she always calls me to ask. I am normally ok with waiting a month or so for an appt since I don't go that often. Also, payment is easy with Square. About one year after first seeing Elise, I thought I'd finally submit a review. I was looking to have ear, neckline and some back and shoulder hair removed. Yes, men want hair removed too. I tried laser before, which didn't do squat in the long run. Contacted Elise and joined her waiting list; about 3 months later, she was able to accommodate me into her schedule. The first session was an informational one followed by a 10 minute electrolysis session to see if I could tolerate it. After a few sessions I ended up buying one of her packages, which reduced the cost. I've been seeing Elise monthly for 45 min each session. Soooo I can't rave about this place enough, Elise is nice and caring and makes sure that you feel comfortable. - On the consultation day Elise walks you through what electrolysis is and makes sure that you feel comfortable with the process and then she tests it on your skin for you to see how it feels and how you react to it. -When you first walk in there is a sitting room with an array of magazines, as the office is shared with another lady who I believe does spa services (not positive on that though). Where do I begin!? Well, for starters, I have given Elise Bright the title of "Queen Electrologist!" Not only do I consider her an EXCELLENT electrologist, but I now consider her a dear friend. I liked her from the moment I met her. She is extremely knowledgeable in her specialty, and most importantly, extremely honest! I had decided a few years back that I could no longer stand shaving my yeti legs! I swear I would have a 5 O'Clock shadow a few hours after taking a new razor to them. I'm Greek and Arabic - enough said. After doing some research and realizing this is the ONLY way to get permanent results, I started the grand task of finding a great electrologist. Not only did I find a great electrologist, I KNOW I found THE BEST! Elise was gracious enough to give me a short 10 min. trial run to feel how she works her magic. Afterwards, came the hard part. She had to be brutally honest in letting me know that it was going to take an enormous commitment to get rid of the yeti within! Fast forward to now (about a year and a half worth of sporadic visits) and I'm "almost" there! Had Elise not been 100% honest with me, I probably would have thrown in the towel and been very upset. Her prices are reasonable and competitive, she is gentle and skilled in her craft and is always conscious of each client's individual needs. My only complaint is selfish in that I wish I could keep her all to myself rather than having to wait for an appointment. After numerous 2 hour sessions, lots of laughs, lots of zapping, and lots of dead follicles, I'm almost there. I'm sorry but I find that it incredibly unprofessional not let someone know that you are running behind or are unable to do the scheduled appointment. What brought me here? I had my first laser hair removal treatment back when it was experimental in the mid-90s. It was and is painful but has been very effective for my underarms, bikini line and most recently my legs. I have however had facial hair that was never fully treated even after 15 treatments from some 4 different providers over 15 years. I had the eyebrows that strayed and the dreaded ex that pointed out the caterpillar on my lip. As to the face I tried waxing but I always broke out badly and threading was ok. So for practical purposes that left me with shaving or depilatory hair removal cream. I finally had two thick gray chin hairs [I could stroke them] and decided to try out the 15 minute demo. Both gray hairs were gone and stayed away! (Emphasis there since laser hair can only go after colored hair.) I have seen Elise for 3 x 30 minute small follow-up treatments on my upper lip, chin and eyebrows. For me this is as painful as laser hair removal near the upper lip, however, in other areas it doesn't bother me too much. I do get red swelling so after the appointment I make sure not to have plans. I also occasionally get tiny scabs which heal in less than a week. On a positive side note my acne has started to clear which leads me to believe I may have been suffering from folliculitis. Elise is a wonderful professional. read more

Elise is professional and very personable. I went to her based on another Yelp review and was very happy that I did. She spent about 30-40 minutes putting my eyebrows back in order. They turned out beautifully! I've had electrolysis on my eyebrows before, but they were never so symmetrical (I have an asymmetrical face that can be challenging to work with) and her machine did very little upset to my skin. My eyebrows were swollen and a little red for the remainder of the evening, but nothing a little extra makeup couldn't handle (The place I went to before left eyebrows looking like an angry mob of bees had attacked. Mercilessly. Elise's machine was also worlds different than the other place. Her machine was only slightly uncomfortable whereas the "other place's" machine was something like electrocuting oneself repeatedly). No scabbing, not even moderate swelling, no major sensitivity. I've had extensive laser hair removal done on most parts of my body and before visiting Elise I thought electrolysis was the most painful. Afterward, I'd say that if you can handle waxing or tweezing it would be easy to come to see Elise. Did I mention that she has great hours (a lot of evening and weekend hours for those of us who work 9-5 Monday through Friday)? And I'm not sure why this is so important to me - and I would be happy with the wonderful job she did on my eyebrows alone - but she has a great laugh which removes any tension or discomfort from the experience. She makes you feel extremely comfortable with the procedure and responds immediately to discomfort by using a smaller needle or lowering the frequency she's using. I actually look forward to coming, as she's so sweet and easy to talk to and I actually end up relaxed as if I've just had a spa treatment, even though my "spa treatment" involves needles. Make sure you're informed...electrolysis is totally working for me, but it takes quite a number of visits before you see the great results. It will seem as if it's not working, and then suddenly you'll notice a drastic slowing in regrowth.
