She sounds perfect and is in a great location! I called, and Elise is no longer accepting new clients or adding prospective clients to her waiting list as of July 19, 2023. So much for that! No one is in the Beach area! read more

I am so glad I found Elise! I tried laser hair removal in the past and it didn't work. Don't waste your time or money on laser. Electrolysis is the only real permanent way to remove hair. Elise is actually the second electrologist I've worked with and she is the best. She's fast, effective, friendly, and non-judgemental. The areas that Elise originally cleared for me are still hair free years later. It seems crazy, but honestly she has changed my life. If you are serious about hair removal, contact Elise. You will not regret it! read more

I can't say enough good things about Elise. I've been seeing her since 2011, on and off - off because she's so good at what she does! In addition to being a consummate professional, she's the sweetest, most empathetic soul, and just a joy to be around. Just book - you'll be so glad you did. read more

Elise is the best! Very knowledgeable, patient and caring. Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!

I love Elise! Not only is she professional, timely, knowledgeable and extremely nice, but she's saved me hundreds on waxing! I'm nearly renegade eyebrow free after several sessions, and will never have to pay for waxing again. Don't go anywhere else! read more

My spouse gave me a certificate to have hair removed from my ears. He chose Elise after much research. Not only is she very professional, her sparkling personality takes the sting out of the electric needle she uses. I was so pleased that I hired to do other parts of my body; back, fingers, shoulders. I highly recommend ELISE and give her SIX STARS. Rob G read more

I was going to wait until I was done with treatment to rave about Elise but I can't wait that long! I found Elise on Yelp (Thanks!), and am so glad that I did. She has been amazing, making a normally unpleasant experience bearable with her knowledge, patience, kind words and expertise. Great results so far and I know they will last. Electrolysis really is the ONLY permanent method of hair removal and I have tested this the hard way. read more

I have only had about 6 sessions to help begin my facial hair removal but without a doubt i can not think of anyone else I would want to see right now. Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding as well as fantastic work. read more

Elise is terrific. She is not only a skilled electrologist, she is also funny and personable. She walks you through the process of hair removal at the first visit and checks your sensitivity. Electrolysis can be painful for some. As you begin the process, Elise is very adept at giving advice on how to minimize that pain. She also just puts you at ease. When I first decided to start electrolysis, Elise had a waiting list. I had heard she was the best, so I waited for a few months until my name came up. After that, I went to her for several years until I moved from San Diego last year. Now that I have moved, I actually don't have any electrolysis done in my new town because I can't imagine having anyone else do it. Since I visit San Diego twice a year, I just wait to have it all done with Elise when I visit. read more

I was very nervous to try electrolysis and did a lot of online research before I contacted Elise for an appointment. I love that she gave me a free consultation which included a thorough explanation of the process and a 15 minute demonstration where she actually did electrolysis on me. Elise put me at ease right away with her sweet, calming demeanor. I have since gone for 3 more appointments and they have all been extremely pleasant and relaxing, which sounds crazy because I am getting zapped while I'm there. The actual pain that I feel associated with electrolysis is akin to plucking, and since Elise is so skilled the whole process is fast and relatively painless. For my treatment I have to partially disrobe and I have to say that I feel 100% comfortable doing this because Elise is such a professional. Like another yelper who reviewed Elise I actually enjoy my appointments and look forward to seeing her again soon. I highly recommend Elise! Go for a consultation if you are hesitant, you have nothing to lose except that pesky hair!! read more

Elise is awesome at what she does. She made me feel comfortable from day one. She informed me from the beginning about the process and eased my mind with any questions I had. Her skills are top notch... and her positive, caring personality has made my experience with her an excellent one. I will not go anywhere else and highly recommend her!! Thank you, Elise :) read more

I am so glad I have found Elise on Yelp. I was searching for a local electrolysist since I discovered laser hair removal is not a permanent solution and I was wasting money at another local medical spa in Hillcrest. I had a free 10 min session with Elise and 30 min consult to go over a plan. I needed to remove hair on my shoulders and back areas. I have gone at least 8 times over the past 2 years and still go for touch ups. Most of the hair I wanted removed is gone. I have had no issues and actually it's not as painful as laser, not even close. I tend to have a higher threshold for pain anyway. Sometimes it's tough to book an appointment since her schedule is so booked, but when folks cancel and it falls into my preferred timeslot she always calls me to ask. I am normally ok with waiting a month or so for an appt since I don't go that often. Also, payment is easy with Square. You also get a 5% discount if you book 4 or more sessions and the % discount increases with more session packages purchased. read more

I have been to three different electrologists in different areas of the country over the past several years and was delighted and relieved to discover Elise. She is warm, friendly, reassuring and very professional. Her location is convenient and her work area and her manner, calming. Jessica D. read more

About one year after first seeing Elise, I thought I'd finally submit a review. I was looking to have ear, neckline and some back and shoulder hair removed. Yes, men want hair removed too. I tried laser before, which didn't do squat in the long run. Contacted Elise and joined her waiting list; about 3 months later, she was able to accommodate me into her schedule. The first session was an informational one followed by a 10 minute electrolysis session to see if I could tolerate it. After a few sessions I ended up buying one of her packages, which reduced the cost. I've been seeing Elise monthly for 45 min each session. The hair is all about gone, and I'm thrilled with the results. As far as Elise goes, she's very personable and professional--you can talk to her about anything, and I'm not surprised to read other clients' 5 star reviews here. Well deserved 5 stars! read more

Soooo I can't rave about this place enough, Elise is nice and caring and makes sure that you feel comfortable. - On the consultation day Elise walks you through what electrolysis is and makes sure that you feel comfortable with the process and then she tests it on your skin for you to see how it feels and how you react to it. -When you first walk in there is a sitting room with an array of magazines, as the office is shared with another lady who I believe does spa services (not positive on that though). The specific room that Elise she works with clients in, is very clean and comfy. - Plus she has an online system that reminds you of your appointments and lets you book future ones (so if you're like me and like to plan things out at 11pm when everything is closed then this is perfect for you) - As far as parking goes there is plenty of street parking some metered some not. read more

Where do I begin!? Well, for starters, I have given Elise Bright the title of "Queen Electrologist!" Not only do I consider her an EXCELLENT electrologist, but I now consider her a dear friend. I liked her from the moment I met her. She is extremely knowledgeable in her specialty, and most importantly, extremely honest! I had decided a few years back that I could no longer stand shaving my yeti legs! I swear I would have a 5 O'Clock shadow a few hours after taking a new razor to them. I'm Greek and Arabic - enough said. After doing some research and realizing this is the ONLY way to get permanent results, I started the grand task of finding a great electrologist. Not only did I find a great electrologist, I KNOW I found THE BEST! Elise was gracious enough to give me a short 10 min. trial run to feel how she works her magic. Afterwards, came the hard part. She had to be brutally honest in letting me know that it was going to take an enormous commitment to get rid of the yeti within! Fast forward to now (about a year and a half worth of sporadic visits) and I'm "almost" there! Had Elise not been 100% honest with me, I probably would have thrown in the towel and been very upset. Her prices are reasonable and competitive, she is gentle and skilled in her craft and is always conscious of each client's individual needs. My only complaint is selfish in that I wish I could keep her all to myself rather than having to wait for an appointment. After numerous 2 hour sessions, lots of laughs, lots of zapping, and lots of dead follicles, I'm almost there. I will probably find another area to work on after I'm done, just to keep going to see Elise. She is a true gem. :) read more

I was referred to Elise by my aesthetician about 6 months ago when I expressed an interest in permanent hair removal. I scheduled a consult and was pleased to find her friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I purchased a package of sessions and have found it to be a fantastic service at an excellent price. Elise is experienced and very efficient. Sure, it hurts a little occasionally, but overall not as uncomfortable as I expected and Elise keeps me engaged in conversation the whole time. I'm a highly satisfied customer! read more

I can't say enough good things about Elise. She's amazing. She immediately made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions, and having a Brazilian using electrolysis, I had a lot of questions! She's thorough, careful, and efficient. I'm always amazed at how much she completes during each visit. Elise genuinely cares about her customers and will never push anyone past their comfort level. She understands how intimate these appointments can be and she's an expert at relaxing and distracting people. Electrolysis can be painful but there are things you can do to help lessen the pain. Elise will explain the process and how it works and what you can do. Electrolysis can be addicting when you start to see results. Buy the packages! You will use the time. Depending on what you're doing, Electrolysis can be a long term commitment so plan accordingly. I've been seeing Elise for a year now and while Covid did slow progress down, the results have been amazing. I plan to continue my treatments for a long while. I'm so grateful to have found her. A good electrologist is worth their weight in gold. If you're looking for an electrologist or interested in trying electrolysis, go see Elise. read more

I had never been to an electrologist prior to going to see Elise approximately 6 months ago. I have been 100% satisfied with her courtesy, professionalism, and She has a clean and relaxing office with what appears to be state of the art equipment. The process does nit happen overnight. But, Elyse has been very informative and set my expectations realistically from day one. She is a real pro! read more

The best! Elise is very professional and her work is top-notch. Her office, which has a calm vibe, is very clean (no hygiene worries here) and the location is convenient. I would never go anywhere else. Thank you Elise :) read more

Elise is AMAZING! She is extremely knowledgeable about electrolysis and the science behind it. She picks the correct modality for max effectiveness while making sure you are comfortable at the same time. She is also such a pleasant, sweet person. When you're up close and personal with someone over many months, it really helps to have someone so personable through all of it! I purchased a ten hour package with her and am about 4 hours in, I can clearly see a reduction in growth already!! I cannot recommend Electrolysis by Elise enough and wish I had found her earlier. read more

I never thought in a million years that I would say this, but I actually enjoy going to my electrolysis appointments with Elise. I've been to a few other places and I always dreaded going, but, thanks to Elise, I don't mind anymore and now I actually follow through with my appointments. To give you a breakdown as to why electrolysis with Elise is so great: 1. The treatments take place in a relaxing sanctuary that makes me feel like I am going in for a spa treatment. Plus, the bed is really comfy. 2. Elise has a sleek, modern machine that's fast and cuts the time it took at other places in half. 3. Elise is reliable, professional and has a great personality. She explains everything very clearly and answers all questions thoroughly. 4. Everything is super clean. She always wears gloves and only uses brand new needles. This is the first time in my life I have ever followed through with electrolysis appointments and now I am almost finished!!! If you've been wanting to go and haven't found a good place or haven't been brave enough, you should just call Elise, you won't be disappointed! read more

After years of sugaring/waxing, I decided I wanted something permanent. As I did my research, I stumbled on electrolysis and reached out to Elise shortly after. Before starting any electrolysis sessions, it is highly recommended you have an intake session. During the intake session, Elise presented the information in a way that was easy for me to understand. She also answered my questions regarding pain and length of treatment with honesty. I have been going to Elise for over a year, and I am more than happy with the results. Elise knows what she's doing. She's the perfect mix of professional and friendly. I'm so glad I found her! read more

I was so pleased to see results after a few sessions. I have needed electrolysis off and on over the decades as hormones change. Elise's expertise is most welcome. Elise is awesome in so many ways... -- She'll give you a free consultation and include 10 minutes of free electrolysis so you can decide if it's somethign you can handle -- She is professional and educated...she even explains the science behind electrolysis so you know how it works and what to expect -- She has the best electrolysis machine out there which works fast and with less pain (had I known it wouldn't feel that bad, I would have done this years ago) -- I never have to worry about her jipping me on time -- She is very clean and sanitary and her implements are sterile. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I knwo what the State expects and Elise actually follows it--no cutting corners! -- She has evening/night and weekend hours, so great for us 9-5ers I've never been to anyone else for electrolysis and I've never felt a need to since Elise is everything I would expect and want from an electrologist. Go for the 7-hour package. It's the best deal and if it's mroe time than you end up needing, you can always find more hair to zap. I went in for bikini but have had to convenience of getting plenty other stray hairs...think I'll try armpits next! read more

Elise is considerate, kind, knowledgeable, fair, punctual and just an all around pleasure to work with. Although she is not taking new clientele, she is definitely worth the wait. She made me feel very comfortable and the hair removal is virtually pain free. I recommend her 1000% to anyone looking into this service. Thank you, Elise, for a wonderful experience. read more

Let me start with--Elise is incredible!!! She's the sweetest, funniest, nicest and most professional human being! I don't necessarily love the process but I love the results and Elise makes the entire electrolysis procedure that much better! I should also mention that she's very accommodating with great hours for those of us who work 9-5! I'd highly recommend electrolysis for hair removal (since I've tried laser before and it ended up being expensive, and yielding very poor results) and I would only recommend Elise since she's the best!!! read more

I had an appointment today at 12:45. After waiting 20 min and seeing no one, I left. I'm sorry but I find that it incredibly unprofessional not let someone know that you are running behind or are unable to do the scheduled appointment. I live 40 minutes from this business and had to pay a babysitter. All for nothing! I was really hoping for this to be a different experience given all the other positive reviews. read more

Elise is a true professional and takes her work very seriously. She's someone who really cares about her clients. I had a great appointment with her the other day. I felt comfortable with her and didn't feel nervous about the procedure at all. Her room is lovely and peaceful. I've had electolysis in the past with someone else and it was quite painful. Not so with Elise's machine. I could barely feel anything. Elise is kind, funny, and has a great personality! I highly recommend her. She's so worth it even if you have to wait a little bit to get an appointment. She's also prompt in returning messages. You won't be disappointed. Did I say I actually look forward to my appointment? Absolutely!! read more

What brought me here? I had my first laser hair removal treatment back when it was experimental in the mid-90s. It was and is painful but has been very effective for my underarms, bikini line and most recently my legs. I have however had facial hair that was never fully treated even after 15 treatments from some 4 different providers over 15 years. I had the eyebrows that strayed and the dreaded ex that pointed out the caterpillar on my lip. As to the face I tried waxing but I always broke out badly and threading was ok. So for practical purposes that left me with shaving or depilatory hair removal cream. I finally had two thick gray chin hairs [I could stroke them] and decided to try out the 15 minute demo. Both gray hairs were gone and stayed away! (Emphasis there since laser hair can only go after colored hair.) I have seen Elise for 3 x 30 minute small follow-up treatments on my upper lip, chin and eyebrows. For me this is as painful as laser hair removal near the upper lip, however, in other areas it doesn't bother me too much. I do get red swelling so after the appointment I make sure not to have plans. I also occasionally get tiny scabs which heal in less than a week. On a positive side note my acne has started to clear which leads me to believe I may have been suffering from folliculitis. Elise is a wonderful professional. read more

Elise is professional and very sweet and very thorough about cleanliness and safety. I went somewhere else a few years back and Elise is 100x better. Just went for some stray chin hairs and voila! No more. read more

Elise is professional and very personable. I went to her based on another Yelp review and was very happy that I did. She spent about 30-40 minutes putting my eyebrows back in order. They turned out beautifully! I've had electrolysis on my eyebrows before, but they were never so symmetrical (I have an asymmetrical face that can be challenging to work with) and her machine did very little upset to my skin. My eyebrows were swollen and a little red for the remainder of the evening, but nothing a little extra makeup couldn't handle (The place I went to before left eyebrows looking like an angry mob of bees had attacked. Mercilessly. Elise's machine was also worlds different than the other place. Her machine was only slightly uncomfortable whereas the "other place's" machine was something like electrocuting oneself repeatedly). No scabbing, not even moderate swelling, no major sensitivity. I've had extensive laser hair removal done on most parts of my body and before visiting Elise I thought electrolysis was the most painful. Afterward, I'd say that if you can handle waxing or tweezing it would be easy to come to see Elise. Did I mention that she has great hours (a lot of evening and weekend hours for those of us who work 9-5 Monday through Friday)? And I'm not sure why this is so important to me - and I would be happy with the wonderful job she did on my eyebrows alone - but she has a great laugh which removes any tension or discomfort from the experience. My next appointment is next Saturday and I'm looking forward to it! read more

Yap just another 5 star review for Elise, no big deal. But seriously anyone who's considering getting electrolysis should go to Elise. It's totally worth the wait. I was put on her waitlist but wasn't sure how long the wait was so I decided to see other electrolysis. And Elise is hands down the BEST. Not only is her technique the best (the least painful) she has such a great personality I actually look forward to my electrolysis sessions with her. read more

I found her through the yelp reviews and I am pleased. I had worked with another electrologist who made me uncomfortable and was slow paced as well. Elise was quick and made me at ease. She is a really nice lady and she did a very nice job on my eyebrows. I think she may have a great machine too since the growth rate appears to be very slow and sparse. read more

Don't bother going anywhere else...Elise is incredible. She makes you feel extremely comfortable with the procedure and responds immediately to discomfort by using a smaller needle or lowering the frequency she's using. I actually look forward to coming, as she's so sweet and easy to talk to and I actually end up relaxed as if I've just had a spa treatment, even though my "spa treatment" involves needles. Make sure you're informed...electrolysis is totally working for me, but it takes quite a number of visits before you see the great results. It will seem as if it's not working, and then suddenly you'll notice a drastic slowing in regrowth. Elise has never cancelled an appointment and is standing there ready to take me in, every single time. I've never even sat down in the lobby. Make sure to buy a package, which saves you quite a lot of money and believe me, you'll end up using all the appointments! read more

I am a client of Elise, and just had to rave today about her service and treatment! The Salon is a lovely little jewel tucked onto Nutmeg Street; the ambiance and mood are cheerful and soothing. It is a haven! Elise is extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind :) Her spa is spotless & there's always wonderful music playing. Elise is 'master of modalities' - I have some tiny 'renegade' places where the growth seems to persist after treatments. Elise carefully selects the best combination of pulse and intensity such that I have always been comfortable. Do yourself a favor and run, don't walk to her salon! Good bye, waxing and shaving!!!! Thank you, Elise! read more
